Chapter 1: HAPPY VILLAGE - CHAPTER ONE
"Wow... What a nice weather. Even this song makes me relax."
I feel the warm breeze of the wind as I turn the radio on under this big old tree in the valley. This song entitled Scenery is sung by an artist so called V. I heard he was a famous singer and actor. He is the talk of the town. I even heard that he was so young and handsome too. But I only heard it. I didn't saw him before not even a glance. Well it doesn't matter to me.
I suddenly feel sleepy when my phone rings. My mother is calling me. "MACY!!! Are you in the valley again! come to the farm and help us with the vegetables. Hurry up!!" it sounded like a thunder that keeps roaring on my ears. "Yeah. Yeah. Coming." she hung up. I pick up my favorite book and run to the farm hurriedly
I've been living in this small village since birth. The villagers treat each other as one family. "Hi Macy, you look good today." my friend Bea greeted me. "Macy, don't run." Uncle Tom worried that I may trip like always happen. I wave my hand as an answer when Mr. Jang the village chairman calls me.
"Macy, tell your mom to come to the meeting hall later. We need to discuss something."
"I understand sir.." what can be the matter? As I mumbled to myself. Then hurriedly run for I can imagine my mother's angry face by now.
My name is Macy Rose Chan, 20 years old. I live in this land called the Happy Village. A small town near the mountains and far away in the city. I graduated as the Top student in our campus in my High School and I want to study medicine but I need to go to the city to fulfill my dreams like my cousins does. I already pass the scholarship examination but my family can't afford to send me there. So I have no choice but to stay and study here.
"MACY!! Hurry Up the delivery truck will be leaving." as I thought my mother would be angry this time. "Yeah."

Everyone in the meeting hall were surprise by the sudden announcement of Mr. Jang. Macy's mother can't believe what she heard right now.
"Wa-What are you talking about? Are you sure about this?" Macy's was still confused.
"As you all know, every year this village support one deserving student to study in the City like Namjoon Kim. Your daughter Mrs. Chan excels in her studies so we think she deserve this kind of opportunity. Don't worry she will stay at the School Dormitory. She will be safe there" Mr. Jang convinced the whole committee although Macy's mother not agreeing to it. "But..."
"No buts. Discuss it with her. Macy must like it too. Okay meeting adjourned." they all left as Macy's mother was still amused.

"Honey, what happened to the meeting?" My mom got home from the meeting for an hour already but she still act weird so my father ask him worriedly but she didn't reply.
"Honey, what happened? What did they tell you in the meeting? Did you do something bad? I already told you to stop playing mahjong with them." a big blow in the head was received by father. Looks like my mom is back. "Will you please stop! "
I laughed at that scene while I prepare the table for dinner. "Dinner is serve! Ma. Pa. Let's eat."
"What is it then? Honey tell us already." my father didn't stop until they reach the table. I sat in front of them and as I'm going to bite my favorite chicken my mother spoke. "Macy...were chosen to be sent in the City to study. The village will support her studies until she graduate." I was left ajar. Did I heard it right?
"Wa--WOW!! Really.. Macy is going to study in the city like Namjoon did. Wow Congratulations my baby." my father hugged me excitedly and then I confirmed its true...
"Really Ma. I can go to the city to study.. Wahhhhh!!" I shouted with full of excitement. I can't believe this. Everything I did is paid off.
"Why are you so happy? I'm still against it.." WHAT!! This again. My mom doesn't allow me to go before because of financial problem but now that the village will support me why is she still against it?
"But Ma. I've been waiting for this. I actually study hard to be like Namjoon-oppa" my cousin who were sent in the city 2 years ago.
"Stop it. Eat your dinner and sleep. Let's not talk about it. I will decline the offer." I fiercely stood up and shouted "I hate you." to my mother.
I run to my room and lock the door. My mom is unfair. I hate her. I cried the whole night. I never get up until the morning come. I feel so hungry but I can ignore it. She knows my dream and this opportunity will help me to reach it but she doesn't want it to happen. I hate her. I really hate her..
Its been two days since that day happen.I still ignore my mom. I'm still angry. I've lost a great chance.. My Dad talk to me yesterday to forgive my mom but I still can't.
"Honey.. Come on. Tell it to her.. Stop this cold War please." my father exclaimed while pushing my mother towards me. "Macy! Come here."
"i don't like too." I ignore them "I said come here!!" my dad shouted so I have no choice but to come..
"I'm... I'm sorry for being harsh to you. I just don't want you to be on your own in that big city. But your father told me that this is a great chance to build your dreams, so... So I decided to let you go and study in the city.." I was really shocked by the words my mother said. I just snapped back into reality when my father poke my shoulder.
"Really Ma? Really??" I asked "Hhmm" she nodded as an answer. I can't explain how happy I feel now. Its like I'm floating. My dream will come true.
"Mama Thank you so much.. I love you... Papa i love you... Thank you. I wont let you down." I hugged both of them as I a sign of being grateful.
"Okay but be sure to study well" I nodded "and No Boyfriend! " my father put emphasis on his last word. I Laugh before I answered him. "Promise."
My mother give me a boarding ticket to the city. "You will leave on Saturday. Be prepared. We will send you there."
"Okay.. Saturday.. It is the next day after tomorrow. I will pack my things now.." I ran excitedly towards my room I open the door once again and look at them happily. "Ma. Pa. Thank you.. I love you you're the best.." and they smiled back at me.
Hurray finally I got to study in my dream University.. Namjoon oppa will be there too. Its gonna be fun for sure.
