CHAPTER 9- Him
So after a tiring day I'm now here at my apartment.
The window is open again. I was about to approach it when the guy went inside causing me to jump in surprise, my eyes widen for a moment at the sight of him.
"sorry. Did I startle you?" he gave me an apologetic look.
"A little. Why we're you outside? Never mind you don't need to explain anything" what's wrong with me? I kinda sound rude to him.
"Sorry again. And ahm... I just gave the cat some food"
"anyways let's talk" I walk towards the couch and seat he also seat across from me we're now face to face.
"you just arrived and I know you are tired from work. I don't wanna push you too much, if you like we can talk tomorrow"
"it's okay I can manage. Anyways you have mentioned that you don't know your name even how you died. Why do you wanna stay here?" I stare at him judging his look.
"I don't know. I just like the ambiance here and I also like the fact that someone like you living here can see me" he said to me his ears getting red.
I was stunned for a moment of his reaction. okay I admit it he kinda looks cute when embarrass.
"I know this might sound uncomfortable for you but do you have any idea how you died? " I ask him still looking intently.
"I..." he hesitated to answer.
"it's okay if you don't want to answer" I kinda feel bad for him.
"I really... I don't have any clue and whenever I think of it my mind goes into blank state" He answered sincerely.
"But judging from your look I don't see any wounds that might cause your death like the other ghosts I've seen"
"Can I stay here? " he just change the topic maybe he doesn't want to talk about it.
It was a long silence between us we just look at each other. Maybe I can let him stay here for a while. It won't be bad right?
"okay you can stay here just don't do anything reckless like barging in to the bathroom and please don't just open the window at midnight it freaks me out. By the way you are a ghost right? Why do you still need to open the window when you can just pass through the wall? " I asked him curiously.
"yes I can pass through the wall but the food that I'm gonna give the cat can't"
"oh yes I forgot. If the cat is your concern, then I can give him food before going to bed so you don't need to open the window in the midnight. And ahm… is the cat yours? You seem very fond of it"
"Nope. I just like petting him"
"Oh" I don't know what to say anymore.
"and ahm... " he looked at me hesitantly.
"any objections about our agreement a while ago?"
"nothing really!" he said to me in a defensive tone then he averted his gaze but I can clearly see that he is blushing.
"what is it?" I ask him. I really don't have a clue why he's blushing and besides I was just asking him about the cat.
"can...I... Can I lie down in your bed?" then he looked at me in the eyes and now it's my time to turn crimson. Wait what?! Did I hear it wrong?
