Chapter 1: Prologue

The cold night wind is blowing harshly complementing the cloudy and moonless sky. I am busy staring below me when I heard a faint thud from behind.

There is in no need to look back to confirm if who it is, just by the aura of the trespasser, I can already guess her class.

"I can see some kind of game written in your face. What are you up to this time?" The trespasser said, her footsteps are closing the distance between us.

"Really? What game is it then? Wanna play it with me?"

The cold wind blew harshly again. Blowing my hood off but I'm quick enough to prevent it from falling.

"No thanks, I'd rather not. I don't want any tangled connection with life and fate." She answered that made me snickered.

She don't want, huh? But have she ever thought that talking to me means you are fine with it.

How ironic, she don't want but she's here. Is she some kind of stupid? Talking to me means you are already part of the game.

Not that I have one in mind, really. Oh well, let's tease her a little.

"You don't? You sure of that?"

"Never been this sure. I don't want to have anything with you."

"Damn," really? Is that really coming from you? "you are making it sound like I'm a kind of cool villain—"

"— and you are not?" Shearing my words in between my statement and a conviction is hinted in her tone, "You are a villain. Everyone knows that."

Heeey, it's not everyone, it is only few knows. No— not even few.

After saying that, a gust of wild wind envelope the place, I even saw some rose thorns crawling on the walls and grounds. Some even crawl on me, making it hard to move. Thorn pierces through my flesh, letting me bleed a bit but I remained myself calm.

She can't kill me— not that she don't want to but she can't. She can't.

And yeah, not that I'll get myself killed from this.

"Easy, babe. I'm mean no harm." Well, for now.

"Shut up." She said before jumping out of this tower. The thorn vanishes leaving me with pierced wounds.

"Ah geez, wounds again. My wound from last week just healed. Is she a Sadist? She loves binding me with her thorns." I sighed, "shit, don't care."

I jumped at the building's railing watching the full moon.

Well, what can I say?

"Villain, huh?"

How funny it is be justified as one.

"But I really love playing matchmake game but I'm not into red strings but rather, what I have is a black thread."
