She left even before the party ended without letting her grandfather, father and her brother know. She was pissed off that she could possibly destroy an entire house with her rage.
If her grandfather didn't make her sign a document making her promise to never lay a finger on the growing Xiang Corporation she would've destroyed it before it went big.
"Milady, it's already late," Jiangzhe said as he put a cardigan on her shoulders.
She remained silent as she held her wineglass tightly as she looked down at the city lights.
What he did to her was so fresh that it was engraved in her memories. Reminiscing the past made her fume with anger as she slowly crushed her wineglass in her hand.
Lucius quickly got a first aid kit as Jiangzhe went to get the broom.
"Are you okay, milady?" Lucius asked as he kneeled before Jia to tend to her wounds.
She looked at him with coldness in her eyes.
"Yes, I am, Lucius," she said.
Lucius looked at his boss. She rose to the top to forget the pain she felt back in the past. It was the sole reason why she accepted the role of becoming the heiress of the family. The only ones who knew her pain was him and his twin brother who was with Jia since they were kids.
"Get me a sleeping pill. I can't sleep after what happened at the party," she said as she looked at her hand after Lucius wrapped it in a bandage.
She walked to the window and looked at the city lights beneath her.
"Lucius... Jiangzhe," she called. "I need both of you to settle some things in the company for me tomorrow. If there's something that needs my signature, bring it here to me. I don't like to let my employees see me in this state. I need to rethink my plans again."
"As you wish, milady," Lucius said.
"We'll do everything to help you," Jiangzhe said as he handed her a small pill and a glass of water.
After an hour, Jia fell asleep on the sofa so Lucius carried her to her room.
They both remembered how Jia suffered in the past because of Xiang Zhelan.
His presence to her meant the destruction of her very self that she built for the past 7 years.
