As she was patiently waiting for her to leave, the Xie Entertainment Company sent a representative and wishes to see her.
"It seems like the CEO isn't happy with your decision, milady," Jiangzhe said as he poured her tea.
"Let him in," she sighed.
"G-Good evening, madame. I'm here to ask for the last time to withdraw your plan," he said as soon as he entered the room.
She sighed first before standing up. She really just couldn't escape from any stress.
"I'm a little disappointed. I've already sent out 2 warnings. But your CEO just wouldn't stop pestering me," she sighed. "You should be thankful I haven't demolished your beloved company... go tell that to your master."
Xie Entertainment has been eyeing her position as the chairwoman of the International Commerce Association and has been secretly attacking her by speaking ill behind her back to the board of directors.
"The next time someone tries to take something away from me, I'll make sure they see their company crumble to the ground," she threatened. "Mr. whoever-you-are, I suggest you take your leave before I lose my temper."
The visitor quickly left without saying goodbye, afraid of the demoness who was standing calmly inside her lair.
"What time is the party starting? I'm getting impatient," she said as she walked to the window.
"2 more hours milady and we may leave for the mansion," Jiangzhe said.
It was never nice to arrive at the same time with some lowly guests at the party.
After hearing how many hours she has to wait made her sigh in vain.
"Has my brother arrived?" she asked. Her elder brother who passed the responsibility of managing the company to her became an actor and became renowned worldwide.
"Young master will be arriving later, milady. His assistant said that he has some things to take care of first," Jiangzhe said.
'That punk! Ever since giving up the title of becoming the heir he would purposely annoy me,' she thought. Ever since they were kids she was the more mature one and was more appropriate to inherit the Tan empire. But since her elder brother was more into acting, their grandfather made her the heiress instead of him since she was more suited for the title.
"I'm getting impatient, Jiangzhe. Bring something to entertain me, I don't like getting drunk on this wine," she said as she put down her glass.
"Ah, before I forget milady, Miss Xinyi will be joining you at the mansion after you arrive. So, please wait patiently," Jiangzhe said.
While they were lounging in their room, the CEO of the Xiang Corporation was already on his way to the Tan Mansion, in which, no Xiang has ever set foot inside since the Tan and Xiang families have always been enemies for generations.
After an hour, Tan Huo, the most respected actor in China came.
"You punk, how dare you make me wait?!" she yelled the moment her brother came in.
"Sorry, I was just picking up someone so I got delayed a little. Anyways, meet Sun Ai," he said as he pointed to the beautiful yet timid woman by the door.
"I thought you're going to be my escort for tonight?" she asked.
"Your beloved grandfather told me to get my own since you already have yours and is probably waiting patiently at the mansion's entrance," he said as he went over to the girl.
"Hmm, I bet he arranged for that man to be my escort. Cheeky as always. Anyways, how'd you picked her up? She's the type that's naive and innocent. How come she got tangled up with you?" she asked as Jiangzhe helped her wear her mink fur coat.
"Hey, I'm still your older brother. Can't you at least make me look good in front of her?" he said as he offered his right arm to his sister and his left arm to the other girl.
"No, not in a million years," she laughed.
...
"Zhi, where are the roses?" he asked as he stood patiently by the door. The guests have been whispering for a while now.
'That woman really knows how to torture me,' he thought as he closed his eyes to calm his temper down. It has been 2 hours since he has been standing there.
Just as he was about to give up, the old man approached him.
"I forgot my dear boy, my granddaughter doesn't come without her older brother. And that grandson of mine likes to come in late since he feels he is such a VIP. How about I wait for her and wait for me to announce your engagement," the old man said as he gently patted his shoulder. "I'm terribly sorry for making you wait for her."
He smiled at the old man. The old man that was too overprotective of his own granddaughter that gave him permission to make his only granddaughter happy.
"Alright. I also don't want to surprise her and maybe even ruin her night. I'll go wait inside, thanks old man," he smiled as he walked to a waiting room with a wine glass in his hand and his other hand on his pocket.
After a few more minutes, the most awaited bride-to-be together with her brother arrived. As she got down from the car, many were awed by her appearance. Although she was already considered an incomparable beauty, she was a total femme fatale.
She was wearing a red silk dress that wrapped her gorgeous body. Her raven black hair fell carelessly on her back. She was indeed a femme fatale, a dangerous woman to be entangled with.
"Grandfather," she smiled as soon as she saw that her grandfather was her escort.
"You look very beautiful, my granddaughter. You look exactly like your mother when she was still alive," he said with tears in his eyes. "Am I right, Wu?" he asked as he turned around to the man behind him.
"Papa," she said as soon as she saw her handsome father.
"Dad, how are you?" Tan Huo asked as soon as he saw his father.
"Hmm, who is that lady by your side?" his father asked.
"She's my date for tonight," Huo said. "Isn't she pretty?"
"Yes, she is indeed. What's your name, my dear?" the old man asked.
"Sun Ai," the girl replied sheepishly.
"Welcome to the family, my dear. I hope these 2 didn't scare you off when they were bickering inside the car," their father laughed.
"Papa, we weren't bickering. We were just talking... very loudly. That's all," she said as she walked inside the mansion.
Lucius was already inside waiting for them.
"Good evening, milady," Lucius said as he bowed to her.
"Where's my husband-to-be?" she asked as she sat on the chair that Lucius prepared.
"Your grandfather sent him to wait inside the waiting room," Lucius replied.
"Jiangzhe, do you have the list of invited guests?" she asked.
"I'm afraid that your grandfather only has the list, milady," Jiangzhe said.
'Hmm, I wonder what's their next move?'
But her thoughts were broken once she heard her grandfather clearing his throat to catch the guests attention.
"Ladies & Gentlemen, may I have your attention please," the old man said as he slowly walked towards his granddaughter.
'Oh dear.'
