Chapter 6: Yin
"Angel stop scratching," Leena said but Angel pouted and just couldn't stop scratching. Leena seeing the discomfort of Angel sighed and said, "Father she bares the mark," as she put down the bags she was carrying and grabbed Angel's hands to stop her from scratching.
"Why is she scratching then?" Jeremy asked as he saw the purple mark on Angel's neck and remembered that none of the females that was ever marked would have a negative reaction.
"It's because the curse is reacting to the mark," Yin, Leena's father who was Jeremy's father in law and Angel's godfather said.
"What curse? And why is there a mark now? Wasn't the last queen selection twenty one years ago?" Jeremy asked.
"Leena get some rope to bind her hands," Yin said and Leena hurried to get a maid to get the rope to bind Angel hands, "It is a shame that the charm cannot help her against the curse anymore."
"What is going on?" the muscular young man with blonde hair stood up and walked to them and asked.
"We can talk about this after she is bond and cannot scratch her neck anymore," Yin said.
"Why is the mark purple?" the younger of the two young men, Leon asked.
"It is because she has a negative effect with the mark due to a curse and she has been scratching it."
"Is there anything that can help then?" Leon asked.
"We can try to figure out that after she is clam," Yin said and at that time the maid returned with the roped. Jeremy held Angel hands together as Yin chanted some magic words over the rope and while he bond her hands together and then carried her to the sofa and tied the rope on the sofa so there wasn't any possible way for her to reach her neck to scratch it.
The purple color from on the mark slowly started to fade as Yin kept chanting some spell to help alleviate the itching that Angel was feeling. Under the spell Angel slowly started to fall asleep and was soon unconscious of everything and whatever the other five was discussing.
"What really happened to her," Lee asked as the five of them sat down on the sofas. Leena sat on the right side of Jeremy on the sofa that was on the right side of the sofa Angel was on. Yin and Lee sat on the sofa to the left side and Leon sat on the left side of Angel as he shared the sofa with her.
"When Angel was born a witch cursed her that it would be impossible for her to find her mate when she grows of age. She also cursed her that she wouldn't be able to shift into her wolf until she has been marked but she has to be marked by her true mate or else she would never shift and she would never have a happy life. However, in that curse he had cursed her that her mate should be the son of the king, but the prince has to be the one to choose her as his queen in order for the curse to be lifted. Who would have thought the queen selection would start now and she would also be marked to be a part of the selection. Now the mark has reacted together with the curse, I could only prevent her from damaging herself by putting her to sleep but then how long would keeping her to sleep last?"
"Father don't forget that she needs to be back at the pack before six or her parents would punish her," Leena said.
"They wouldn't, well not today anyways. The representative would be there and they would want to leave for seven from by the pack so she would still need to be back at the pack by six."
"Dad, did you already knock her out?" Jeremy asked.
While they were talking Leon was quietly observing the young lady that was sitting next to him and he could clearly see the mark color fading but the purple to a dark red. The more he looked at the mark it seemed that it was calling out to him and before he know what he was doing he was already leaning into her and the next thing he know his teeth was already sinking into her skin and he could already taste the iron in his mouth which was her blood.
He leaned back after sealing the mark and looked at the girl and saw that she was on the obese side with pimples on her face and spots on her skin which made her look ugly. Her clothes looked big on her but he could clearly see that they were hand outs that she accepted, her eyelashes were long and beautiful and was the same black color as her untidy waist length hair.
He looked at the mark again and then he could see that the mark was red and it looked calm, he also noticed that the frown she had on her face was gone and her face seemed to relax a bit. 'Did I just mark her?' he thought, but then he seemed to be relieved as soon as he realized that she was indeed the first girl he saw with the mark.
When the plane arrived at the airport earlier he didn't really see anyone in the airport but just Yin and Jeremy. When he got in the car he closed his eyes to take a rest best because they had been going from the day before and he was really tired so he didn't really get to see anyone on their way back to Yin's mansion. Then he was awaken by Jeremy when they arrived which was only about ten minutes before Leena and Angel had arrived.
He and Lee had just finished placing their luggage in the rooms they would be staying in and had just sat down on the sofa when Angel entered and started talking to Leena. When the car arrived Yin had said, "Your aunt has returned home," but then after a few minutes the door was opened and the first person they saw was Angel entering with a purple mark on her neck and her hands filled with a lot of grocery bags.
'She is the first girl I have seen with the mark in this country, I have already marked her so she is my mate and queen from now on. She doesn't look like one that would win the selection but at least I have marked the first girl I have seen with the mark in this country. All I will need to do now is to marry her and official make her my legally wedded wife.'
