Chapter 4: •°▪Goodnight▪°•
As they patrol around the forest, the night began to get deeper and deeper. While walking around, they pass by some demons. They ended the life of these demons as it was a part of their mission to. As they continue to walk around the forest, one of them has started to be tired.
"*yawn*, oh my I feel sleepy. It's probably around midnight by now." Lancelot yawned, stretching his body.
"Well it is getting late." Zilong commented. "How about we do one more round around the forest and then after that we can part our ways and go home." he suggested.
"Yeah that's fine." Alucard agreed.
"Yeah anything just so I can finally go home and get my beauty rest..." Lancelot groaned. They then walked around the forest once again, walking by some demons on their way finishing them off. After an hour and a half of walking around the forest, they finally stopped.
"Well, that was fun." Alucard blurted out smilling, he hasn't killed this many demons in a very long time since whenever he was sent into missions to hunt for demons before, there would be only 3 or 4 there. This night he killed 10, Zilong killed 9, Lancelot killed 6 having a total of 25 demons.
"Yeah, total of like... 25 demons? It was fun and a bit challenging honestly." Zilong agreed.
"It was a fun night, but I'm afraid we all need to part to our ways...." Lancelot said, starting to get sleepy. The hunter and the warroir the looked at the sleepy knight.
"You aren't used to staying up all night huh?" the hunter asked, pating the sleepy knight's back. The knight clicked his tongue.
"I'm used to staying up this late!" Lancelot exclaimed. "It's just that this past few days I haven't gotten a good night's rest because my sister has been pulling pranks on me." he explained. "Good thing eye don't have eyebags to deal with." he added.
Zilong chuckled at the knight's story, "Well how about we escort you to you home, we don't want demons to take advantage of you while your all sleepy." the warrior suggested.
"I guess you're correct. If you want, you guys could sleep at our place for tonight." Lancelot said. "I mean, my family did hire Zilong so it wouldn't hurt to let you guys stay for the night." he explained. "And Alucard can also come with, my family probably knows about you so they'll probably trust you too." he added.
"Then let's get going then, lead the way Lancelot." Alucard said. They then started to head to the Lancelot's home, the Baroque Mansion which was not that far from the forest they're at. While walking, they started to have a conversation.
"So, when do you guys think these demon would stop disturbing this land?" Zilong started.
"Tch, probably when we kill off who ever is brave enough to send these idiots." Alucard hissed.
"I don't know if this is true or not but from what I heard, there was this General named Helcurt who is incharge of all the demon attacks that has been happening." Lancelot said quietly.
"General Helcurt huh? I've seen him." Alucard confessed.
"Really? What does he look like?" Lancelot asked.
"He has this cloak covering his whole entire body, walks like a dog and has sharp claws. Other than that he's nothing but a demon I could probably kill." Alucard described.
"Wow so confident." Zilong teased "Do you know that guy's abilities?" he asked.
"Nope." Alucard answered. "Though from what a fellow demon hunter said, he can make you blind." he added.
"Blind, well I guess he'll be a pain in the butt." Lancelot declared, yawning after. Comfortable silence then accompanied them. They continued to walk until they have reached they're destination. A guard opened the gates for the 3 guys.
"Good Evening to you three." The guard greeted, bowing after. The 3 of them greeted the guard back and continued to walk. Lancelot walked to the front door, opening it. He then headed inside with Zilong and Alucard behind him.
"Well this is my home, come on in I'll show you the guest's room." Lancelot invited. He then went up stairs with the hunter and the warrior following behind. As they reached the 2nd floor, they pass by some doors until...
"Brother your home!" a woman greeted from behind them. They looked behind them to see a girl with brown hair wearing purple panjamas. "Where have you been?" she asked.
"Oh Guiny, I hunted some demons and met these guys on the way." Lancelot answered his little sister. "Guys this is Guinevere, my younger sister." he introduced. "Guiny this is Alucard and Zilong." he added.
"Aren't you the one with us during lunch?" the young girl asked looking at Zilong.
Zilong noded, "Ah yeah, I was."
Lancelot looked at the two confused. "You've been here and had lunch?" he asked.
"Yeah, as I said your family hired me to patrol at the forest and hunt demons right?" the warrior answered. The hunter who was beside them yawned.
"Man.... we should get some rest." Alucard mumbled, rubbing his eyes.
Lancelot hummed. "He's right, we need rest after all those hunting we did." he agreed. "You guys make your selves at home." Lancelot added. He then opened the door of the guest room and for both Alucard and Zilong to sleep. The two guests then entered the room. In the room are 2 beds and some usual furniture. The Baroque siblings tgen headed to their rooms to sleep. While getting ready to sleep, Alucard decided to start a conversation.
"So, how did you get in a partnership with the Baroque Family anyway?" Alucard asked as he was taking of his coat and boots off.
"Well I was just walking around the village and then I happened to pass by Mr. Baroque." Zilong answered, taking some of his armor pieces off. "He then recognized me and asked me if it'll be okay to have lunch with them." he continued. "So I went to lunch and they discuss things about the demons that's been attacking people and stuff. After that, they asked if I would agree to patrol the forests and hunt for demons." he added. "I agreed and then here we are now!" he finished. The warrior continued to take off his clother leaving his undershirt on.
"How about you, who sended you to the forests?" Zilong asked the hunter. The hunter finished taking off his clothes, leaving his tank top on.
"Well I'm a demon hunter." He stated. "It's normal for me to roam around the forest and huntbfor demons." he continued. "Although I haventn't been in a demon killing spree in like a month now." he added. They then got ready for bed.
"Welp, goodnight I guess." Zilong said before covering his body with his blanket.
"Yeah, goodnight." Alucard commented also covering his self with the blanket on his bed. Not too long after, they all slowly drift into sleep.
