Sapphire's POV
Sapphire's POV
I opened my eyes and saw the sunlight escaping through the curtains then instantly regretted opening my eyes when I felt an intense pain followed by the pounding sensation on my head.
It was like a hangover but worse.
I stretched my arms over to the other side of the bed and felt no one. I opened my eyes and instantly regretting the idea again and just searched with my hands. There was no Xander next to me. I groaned and brushed the palm of my hand across my face.
"Xander!" I shouted but I winced when the pain shot through my head again. I whimpered which made the door suddenly flung open.
"What's wrong?" I sensed a hint of panic in his voice which made me smile a little.
I pouted while I covered my eyes with my hand, secretly wanting him to take care of me. "It hurts…" I breathed.
I heard him sigh and heard his footsteps as he walked towards me.
I felt him sit on the edge of the bed before leaning in to place a kiss on my forehead. "What hurts babe?" He purred which almost made me smile but the pain took over my happiness.
"My head hurts." I breathed.
He brushed his hands through my hair and took a deep breath. "Mom did say that the next day of the turning does hurt." He said and let out a chuckle. "The only time that she forbids May to scream her lungs out when waking us up is when two girls are struggling after they've been turned." He said.
All I wanted to do was laugh thinking how May is pouting nonstop but I just couldn't... not with this pain. "Why couldn't she make her stop for real?" I asked which made my mate chuckle once more.
"May only stops her wakeup call if she clearly understands the reason." He paused. "This time, she really held herself back because she really likes you and Casey." He said with a happy tone, the kind that always makes my heart melt and the butterflies in my stomach flutter. "I don't understand how you became friends. May's a bit choosy when it comes to choosing the people she trusts, what did you do to make her like you two so much?" He questioned which made me smile.
I contemplated on a bunch of things before I just stuck with what matters the most. "Girl power." I smiled which made Xander laugh.
"I guess I'll just leave it to that." He said and held my hand. "What would you like to do today?"
I smiled. "I would humbly ask to have the curtains doubled to prevent the light on penetrating the thin cover of your humongous window my, dear prince." I said which made him burst out into laughter.
He kept laughing for a few minutes until he cleared his throat. "As you wish, my princess." He said and kissed the top of my head.
"I'll arrange your request and have them cook breakfast for you. What would you like?" He asked when I felt him stood up.
"Anything that YOU will make." I said as to challenge him on how well he could cook.
He gasped playfully and chuckled. "As the princess commands." He said in a low voice that clearly indicated that he doesn't know how to cook.
"Call out if you need anything." He said but I slowly shook my head.
"I can't." I breathed. "The more I force myself, the more it hurts." I stated.
He chuckled. "Then I shouldn't keep you waiting then." He said and leaned in to place a kiss on the top of my head but I felt his presence the pushed myself up, making his lips land on mine.
His eyes widened as I pulled back and stuck my tongue out but immediately regret it when my head started to hurt again. "A punishment…" I breathed while I tried to calm my nerves out from the intense pain that I'm feeling.
"Punishment for what?" He said in a confused tone.
I huffed. "I woke up without you next to me." I pouted.
I heard him chuckled and then it went quiet. I was about to speak but his lips stopped me from doing so. It caught me off guard. He pulled away which left me speechless.
"That was more of a reward than a punishment you know." He chuckled. "But still, I promise that you'll wake up next to me from this day till the day I die." He said which didn't really sound great to me.
"Do you have to say "till the day I die"?" I said in a serious tone.
He sighed and held my hand. "Let me re-phrase that." He breathed. "I promise that you'll wake up next to me, from this day and till the end of time." He said. "How's that sound?"
I smiled. "Perfect."
