Chapter 24: Kurapika
{Ren POV}
After I met the troop, I went to talk to Kurapika. I teleported to his location to see him guarding a room. I said, "Yo, long time no see". Startled, he retreated pilling his weapons out only to realize it was me. With a sigh of relief, he asked, "Hello Ren, what are you going here?"
"Well, I just came to meet you. After all, we did decide to meet up, didn't we." I said with a smile. Kurapica was surprised and questioned of how I knew everything to which I just said I could sense his presence. We just talked about random stuff until I said, "You're here for your clan's eyes right…"
The atmosphere turned serious after this. Kurapica took a deep breath and said, "Yes…"
"Kurapika, just so you know, the Phantom Troupe is in town… I would highly suggest against going against them…" I warned. Kurapika's eyes turned red as he said, "Thank you for your advice… BUT I WILL FIND THEM AND KILL EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM!"
"Well… Just so you know, each and every one of them can beat you in a fair fight." I warned. "You have no idea how strong I have become! How do you know about them anyway!" said Kurapika. "Your chain thing… I know all about it. Trust me, It's not even close to powerful enough to beat anyone in a fair fight and about how I know, I just had a confrontation with them," I said calmly. Kurapika showed surprise but looking back on my feats in the hunter exam, it didn't really come as a surprise.
"I will take them down even if it kills me!!!" said Kurapika, determined. "Well dude, just listen for a bit, all I'm saying is you can ask me for help if you want. I'm sure even the other's would be happy to help out," I said trying to help him. "Bu-But… I can't get you all in trouble because of my personal issues…" said Kurapika, a bit apologetic. "Don't sweat it. I won't let anything happen to us… Just trust me." I replied with a bright smile, cheering him up.
After that, he started getting all emotional and started thanking me. That is when I got an idea, "How about I temporarily work for your boss. You can recommend me to whoever is in charge," I suggested. Kurapika thought for a bit and said, "Sure, I guess. You are probably more than capable of getting in…"
I waited for a bit until Kurapika walked out with a well build man walking next to him. "Are you serious… A boy?" he said looking at me. "Well, don't go judging people by the way they look… I am sure I am qualified enough," I rebuked. He just snorted and said, "K, K… Show me what you kan do, kid…" I just smile as I create a massive layer of En (Sensory technique) encompassing the whole city. The man was dumbfounded- 'The best of the best could do 10 metres max and this kid could cover an entire city effortlessly. He could probably kill me with just his aura.'
After a few minutes, he finally regained his senses and said, "Ahem… Sir, I don't think we have the budget to hire a nen master such as yourself." said the man. "Don't fret it, dude… I'm just here to help out my friend," I said. He was ecstatic when he heard me and introduced "I am Dalzollene, might I know your name, Sir." to which I replied with my name. Even after that, he still insisted on paying me so I asked him to pay me however much he pays the other bodyguard to which he graciously obliged.
After a few calls and convincing Neon(Our client) to stay back as it can be dangerous, we go towards the auction. Kurapika and Melody (Bodyguard with super hearing) stayed on the roof of a building with a view to the auction hall; Baise (Hot bodyguard), Basho (Macho bodyguard) and I went to attend the auction whereas the rest stayed back in the hotel to protect Neon Nostrade.
"Hello, I'm Ren," I say as I walk towards the auction hall. They both replied by introducing himself. "Kid, you shouldn't be here…" said Basho. "Don't worry about me… I am the least likely to die..."
"Quite confident, I see…" said Baise with a seductive. I just ignore her and say, "Be careful, the troupe's here…" Hearing this they just start laughing thinking that I'm kidding. Well, whatever. Even I would have done the same If I was in their place. We entered the auction hall. As we waited, two figures walked out… They were Franklin and Feitan, the troupe members. "The troupe members," I warned. This time they took it seriously as they could sense something was wrong… I just smile as I look towards them through the crowd. They didn't seem to notice me and proceeded as planned.
"Welcome ladies and gentlemen. Let us proceed without formal greetings…" said Feitan at which followed Franklin yelling, "YOU ALL DIE NOW," as he started Firing with his nen abilities.
The thugs around us started falling like flies as I stepped forward and said, "Stay back." I extended my aura making all of us intangible. The room was filled with dust as, "Good work, Frank----" before Feitan could finish his sentence, he just froze looking at me. Confused, Franklin and Shizuku followed his gaze and were also petrified when they noticed.
I just smile at them and teleport my group out...
