Chapter 17: #15 Lokal's mansion 2
Ren was being showered by Lokal's gratitude but he had no interest in his gratitude.
"It's not over yet. I can feel several people nearing the mansion" Ren warned Lokal
"What?! I have to call more guards." Lokal started to panic.
'Why are they coming here? Shouldn't they go back since they failed mission or do they think that I am someone they can easily take care of and then kill Lokal before even more guards come? Night Raid, you are group of assassins yet you don't understand simple rule. If assassination mission fails then no matter what, you have to retreat, guess I will have to make you remember it in bad way.'
Ren's thinking was interrupted by loud sound of mansion's gate breaking down. He saw 3 figures entering mansion, they were Akame, Bulat and Sheele.
'Where is Leone and Lubbock, are they looking out for Sayo and Leyasu? Whatever, better for me if I had to fight their entire group I would probably leave without 1 arm.
"Make your remaining guards surround you and protect you with their bodies. That sniper from before must be nearby too." Ren instructed Lokal.
After Akame, Bulat and Sheele came into mansion they immediately looked for Lokal, but when they saw him and wanted to go near him they were stopped by masked man with sabre in one hand.
"I guess you are the one who blocked our sniper's shot. You aren't regular guard here right?" Bulat asked Ren
"That's right, I am protecting him only for few days, you simply chose bad time for your assassination. I advise you to turn back and retreat before someone dies." Ren said in different voice since Akame could recognize him.
"The one who dies today is you and Lokal!" Akame said while she started attacking Ren.
This time Ren poured his Wind energy to his legs and caught Akame off-guard with his speed and kicked her into stomach. She crashed into wall but after few seconds she got up. Kick didn't do much damage to her but she still cough out small amount of blood.
When Ren wanted to attack Akame with his Death spears he sensed attack from above. When he looked up he saw Bulat in his Demon Armor attacking him with his long spear Neuntote. Ren frowned and decided to jump out of his attack when he fell on safe place he once again sensed danger from behind him. He didn't even hesitate for second and instantly blocked attack that came from Sheele's Extase and retreated to better position once again.
'Their teamwork isn't bad, I need to take care of weakest one first if I don't want to be in disadvantage. If I use Wind blades Akame will recognize me and since I already bothered with keeping my identity secret from them I would like to keep it like that' Ren was calmly thinking how he should proceed in this fight.
Group of 3 were totally surprised. 'He can fight equally with all 3 of us, He definitely isn't normal guard, now our only chance is Mine sniping Lokal and us retreating. If this keeps up someone really might die.'
They looked at each other and understood they have to rely on Mine.
First one to move was Bulat slashing his spear at Ren's legs. Ren jumped back, he was already aware of their plan relying on Mine so he was having half of his focus on Mine's sneak attacks. What he didn't expect was that Mine's focus would be Lokal and not him. When Akame and Sheele were attacking Ren from both sides he saw yellow laser aimed at Lokal and not him.
"Tch" Ren clicked his tongue and thought 'I didn't want to use "it" without mastering it first, but I have no choice if I don't want my name to be dirtied.'
Ren poured big amount of Wind energy into his legs. And instantly disappeared from Akame's and Sheele's sight.
'Huh? Where did he go?' Sheele thought but then she heard Akame shout at her: "Sheele, behind you!!"
But it was already late, Ren was able to intercept bullet with his Death spear and appear behind Sheele in instant.
"One down, two to go" Ren said while slashing his sabre at Sheele's head. At desperate moment Sheele was able to use her trump card but it had almost no effect on Ren and he continued his attack. His attack already made quite a wound on her neck but his saber was suddenly stopped by Akame.
She attempted to kick Ren but he just dodged and blocked another bullet aiming for his heart. His attempt to behead Sheele failed but if she would left wound unattended she would bleed out for sure.
'This is bad, we need to retreat and take care of Sheele's wound.' Akame thought and looked at Bulat, He understood the situation so he started rotate his spear and hit ground with biggest strength he could generate. He created crater with his strike and lot of dust was created that could cover their retreat. Ren didn't stop them because he still hasn't mastered that move he used earlier and it tired him quite a lot and if he followed them, Mine could cover them with her Teigu Pumpkin making it difficult for Ren to catch up to them.
Plus his job was to protect someone and not hunt someone.
Next day Ren collected his reward for protecting Lokal and started his journey to Northern Tribes.
------Emperor's throne room------
"Those insolent bastards!" Honest was extremely angry when he got news of assassination attempt at his cousin.
'Thankfully I hired that Ryu guy, from what I have heard from reports he was able to fight 3 of them and even injure 1 while protecting Lokal from sniper. His character is bit weird and he is prideful one, but from what Lokal told me, he shouldn't be interested in politics. Most importantly, he shouldn't even have Teigu and he is already so strong.'
"Emperor, we need to call general Esdeath back from her subjugation of Northern Tribes if we want to deal with that troublesome group named Night Raid." Honest suggested
"GENERAL ESDEATH?!!" Everyone in throne room who heard that name started to shiver except Emperor.
"Sir, what about commander Budou?!" One of the men asked Honest
"He always trains at imperial training ground, do you really want to bother him?" Honest explained to man
"Hmm. Her strength is definitely famous, we could use her help" Emperor thought aloud.
"Then it is decided, we will call her back to Capital when she is done with Northern Tribes." Emperor declared aloud.
'Just image of Ryu and Esdeath working together is terrifying. I almost feel sorry for Night Raid HAHAHA. I just hope I will be able to hire him again.' Honest thought to himself.
