Chapter 15: #13 Lesson
Ren was currently waiting for Shadow to come back with pale face.
'I thought that you would kill that girl. I never thought you know something like mercy or did you simply fell in love with her hmmm?' Shell asked curiously
Ren widened his eyes and looked at Shell
"Don't tell me it's tru-" Before Shell could finish she heard Ren laughing like a maniac
"HAHAHAHAHA...Shell do you really think that someone like me who lived his entire life without lust, pity etc. can feel love?!" Ren questioned Shell in amused tone.
"You can feel friendship, greed then why not love? After all even us spirits don't feel any pity but we can fall in love." Shell explained
"You can?" Ren raised his eyebrow and asked.
Ren started to think what exactly is "love" but was interrupted by Shell
"Of course we can, after all I am deeply in love with youuu" Shell said teasingly
"Go to hell" Ren answered without any regard to Shell's "feelings"
He started to recapitulate his fight with Akame.
'That was pretty stupid to try Murasame's curse without any reassurance. Even through it worked as I planned it still cost me'
Even through Ren's poison immunity he still felt unbelievable amount of pain that came from curse.
"They really don't call Murasame "one-hit-kill" for nothing, even with my body plus regeneration from Water energy It still hurted as hell hahaha" Ren said aloud with bit pale face
"I thought I warned you about underestimating Teigu. You don't even have strong enough weapons to fight them, your daggers that you bought for few golds from some random blacksmith will easily break under pressure of Teigu. You were able to fight this long without going all out only because you enchanted them with your Wind energy, thanks to that they were protected from pressure a little, but...." Shell who was giving Ren long lecture stopped talking and looked at daggers in Ren's hands.
When Ren looked at his daggers how they slowly turned into ashes.
"Tch" Ren clicked his tongue
"....They will eventually be destroyed... You said that you felt unbelievable amount of pain?" Shell asked Ren suspiciously
Ren tilted his head to side but still answered: "Yeah it hurt so much that I wanted to butcher her at that time... what about it?"
"Have you ever thought that you might not be immune to Murasame's curse? No one knows how curse works, but what if you were able to survive cut from it only because of your strong soul, strong body and most importantly unyielding will?" Shell asked
Ren started to sweat a bit but still maintained his calm face.
"*sigh* Like you said Shell...no one knows how curse works. Lets just say I learned my lesson and I won't be so careless anymore around Teigu. You said that I need better weapons but where should I get them?" Ren asked
"Do you think we can only fly or make pills? Wait until you master Death or Water energy..." Shell answered
'Since we are on topic of mastering energy. I already have plan for Death energy, but I don't know how to advance my Water control, I should already have enough absorbed energy but I lack control over it. Maybe I need to master solid state of water since I already mastered liquid and gaseous state' Ren thought to himself
His thoughts were interrupted by Shadow who came back
"Done?" Ren asked
Shadow only nodded his head
"Ok lets go to inn I could use some rest" Ren said while he started to walk back to city
"You are not going to take revenge on that girl?" Shell asked suspiciously
"Of course I will, It's just not right time plus there are numerous methods, for example using her sister" Said Ren while grinning.
"Oh, what an evil mind you have hehe" Shadow responded
"...I don't even want to know what you are thinking about" Ren threw his disgusted look at Shadow
------Night Raid's base------
"What took you so long on this mission? And who are those 3?" Najedna asked group who just came back.
"Akame was fighting with some guy named Ren. He also has another name in Capital Ryu the Demon. And we picked up those 3 because they might have talent to become good assassins." Leone explained to Najenda
"Well we will see. I have also heard of that guy and had thoughts of recruiting him to our group but it seems that he is already dead since he fought with Akame." Najenda said while smiling at Akame.
"He isn't dead, he even survived cut from Murasame" Akame corrected Najenda and told them about entire fight. Everyone was even more surprised that it seemed that Ren wasn't even using his full strength to fight Akame.
"We need to recruit him or he could become strong ally for Empire and strong enemy for us. That ice woman is already enough trouble" Najenda thought aloud.

Next day Ren went outside of city to create new movement technique. He needed something to accelerate his speed to maximum. When he poured his Wind energy to legs, he did it in gentle manner, therefore it increased his speed only a little and Ren wasn't satisfied. He needed much greater speed, he needed burst of speed even only for moment. If he could achieve that it would open lot of new opportunities in fights.
When he arrived at suitable place he tried to pour big amount of Wind energy into his legs in burst. He tried to move but only thing he saw was flash of light and tree...
"HAHAHA" When Shadow saw Ren's first attempt he started to laugh aloud. Shell didn't dare to laugh aloud but she was still giggling.
When Ren got up, he glared murderously at both of them. After both of them calmed down Ren started to practice it with his slowed time. Although he could barely keep up with speed at first but he eventually got use to it. Only problem was that it took too much of his energy and would tire him quickly if used repeatedly. It was already night so he decided to go back to inn.
When he was walking towards inn he saw Ogre and one hooded man who obviously was Tatsumi.
'So it's already time?' Ren thought to himself while trying to sense Leyasu or Sayo.
'It seems they didn't let them go with Tatsumi, not like I care. It's almost time for me to prepare for journey to Northern Tribes.'
------Emperor's throne room------
"2 more men were assassinated yesterday, they were merchant Gamal and Ogre from imperial police, most probably work of Night Raid" Man reported to Prime Minister Honest
"Night Raid....they are making a lot of problems lately. I need to hire good bodyguard for Lokal...I doubt he has any capable men. But question is where to hire one?" Honest thought aloud
"Sir, how about hiring someone from guild?" Man suggested to Honest
