Chapter 27: Team Challenge?
The teams from Taurus village gathered together. This included Mark and Grace's team of five and the other Cabin teammates who also happened to have only 5 members as well. Surprisingly, they verily knew each other. They would see each other in the commons room of their village but usually only for breakfast. They were started to talk but they had not gone deeper past introductions and such.
INST4: " Hello everyone, today, the Taurus village will engage in a team challenge. You will be
competing against two experienced teams of members who are 14-15 yrs old who have been
training under us. We will be like the place's 'Guard team.' Depending on what team you decide
to go against, you will either be protecting something or trying to steal something. Remember, try not to get caught by us. Choose the path you desire and try not to get the alarm sounded because as soon as we here it, you bet we will race to that location and try to catch you as you are operating in foreign land. Of course, you are thankfully in our made up scenarios but we we are trying to make it as real as possible with what we have built here. You have two days to come back to this spot and show either the Items you stole, a badge from an enemy team or a person etc. Some kind of proof that you passed. Weapons used and provided are a dull so that we don't do serious hard to each other. I leave you to it then."
Mark and grace instantly started talking and both couldn't possibly know which road led to what type of challenge. They decided to go left but then the other team won them to it. They both then had no choice but to go right. Jolin, Mal, and Liam followed behind with the blunt weapons and items they gathered from the stash provided.
They walked for about 1 mile when they saw a box with an introduction to their mission. It read,
"You are in charge of looking out for bandits, they are well trained but not a functional team in
terms of having all the qualities one should posses. You main objective is to protect a person
inside their house along with their valuable possessions. There is another hidden side mission
which involves obtaining the identification badge of one of the bandits. Remember be careful,
you may learn a thing or two from the attackers, don't disregard that. Good Luck."
Mark: " O yea, lets get this going then. Another mile off according to this map. Also, he said 14 to 15 year olds and with more team experience than us. Therefore we don't know how good individually they are but they should have had ample team experience. Now is that with the same team? We don't know. Mal and Liam, can you guys go ahead and scout the house surroundings? Me, grace, and Jolin will make contract with the 'client' while you guys look for clues on the enemy and then join us."
Liam: " Sounds good to me."
They started walking, with Liam and Mal on the outskirts surrounding and watching their sides from the dark. Grace, jolin, and Mark made it to the house and went inside. Mal and Liam scouted as planned.
Grace: " Hello miss, as we said before, we are your guards today. We understand your family had an emergency and you were left alone to fend for yourself. Are there any traps we nee to be aware of or defense mechanisms? Anything at all?"
Mrs. Morris: " No, however we do posses hidden blinding lights on the trees surrounding the house. Don't ask me for what jeje."
Grace: "Ok that is fine. Is there a basement where we can take you in case we become under attack?"
Mrs.Morris: " Yes, it's down here along with the vault."
Grace: " Ok great, we will be walking around or hiding in the shadows, we will leave Mal to stay by your side. You will meet heee...him soon."
Mrs.Morris: " If you need anything, food, or whatever let me know."
At that instant, there was a knock at the door. Mark and Jolin positioned themselves next to the door while Grace proceeded to open it. It was Liam and Mal.
Liam: "Everything appears good. We should also have a secret knock.."
Mal: "Yes, However, I did sense something from the east so I feel like that's where they are coming from next."
Thus they spent the night without any incidents, they were almost doubting if there would be anyone coming. The day passed and still nothing. They only had another day or so. They mainly kept Mrs.Morris underground as the night was coming, as they knew that was when they would attack. Maybe they were trying to get them comfortable or in a tired state.
Sure enough, Liam noticed that there was almost no "sounds" outside. Jolin went to the attic and checked outside through a window. He didn't see anything. They all felt good bumps.
Mal: " They are surrounding us, My senses are screaming."
Jolin: " I say, we all go out and attack. Turn on the blinding lights, that should give us a seconds to get to them as have an upper hand. Then fight."
Mark: " OK, Mal. Stay inside with her. Keep watch on all of us. If you see we need you, I leave it to your judgement. At the count of three we go out. Mal get ready to turn on those light!"
Mal: " One, two, three!"
The four of them rushed out. Thankfully, Mal was right. They were surrounded. They hoped it would only be five people, but no it was six. Liam noticed the sixth and wasn't sure if everyone caught that.
They all rushed, Mark and grace got two opponent while Jolin would help him after finishing his. Liam aimed at the hidden one in the trees with his blunt knives as well as throwing some at Grace's opponent. Surprisingly, the one hidden in the tree deflected his knives. Jolin was able to get one hit on his opponent, but he recovered quickly and they all started slashing at them. So whilst Mark and grace were able to get one hit on one opponent, the other partners reacted quickly.
Liam started sweating when at the same that that his knives were reflected, a knives was thrown at his direction.
They all locked into battle. One of them escaped their net and went straight to the house. They trusted Mal so they didn't get to worried. It was better that way. Four vs five was a heck of a lot better than four vs five.
