Chapter 23: Another addition
Mark: " But, how, do you know him? You are obviously a student as well. Are you his friend? He didn't mention anyone else was on her team. Seems like the kind of thing he would disclose to his new teammates. "
New person: "No. umm, Mal hasn't met me yet but I have been watching. All of you. I tracked you and when I saw what was happening I tried my best and used all my energy to shoot my hidden weapons. It was as if something brought me to you guys and knew you would need help. Anyways I am glad I got here in time and am glad you are all fine. I know I may sound like a creep but I promise I am not. It's just hard to explain."
Jolin: " okay you almost gave us a heart attack but also THAT is weird man."
New person: "I would say being attacked by strangers who shouldn't know there are people in this area and close to our camps is also a strange thing. "
Jolin: " fair enough. Thanks again. We got food if you are hungry."
New person: "ahh thanks! I was actually starving. I did have to run here and leave some friends behind jeje. I guess it will be hard explaining why I bailed on them suddenly in a hunch."
Mark: " Well we do have space for more people. That over there resting is Grace. We can talk after they have rested. Mind helping us keep watch?"
New person: "Oh, don't worry, I laced my weapons with poison so they shouldn't be coming back anytime soon. I know you guys also need to rest so I am fine keeping watch with any of you at a time."
Jolin: "wow, am I glad we are together. Well you and grace can take first watch. I know she must be done resting her eyes."
Grace: "Why did you reveal my secret Jolin!"
Jolin: "Yup, she is fine. Okay am going to rest now."
Grace and the new person started talking. As the one least hurt, she took the job of interrogating or talking to this new person. Whilst it may have seemed like childish to trust this person and not find out who he was. Mark and Jolin had a silent agreement to let grace handle him because she didn't get bitten as much them, even if she did get her head hit pretty hard. They also just knew that this person wouldn't turn on them, especially after saving them. Plus he looked pretty worn out like he said. "
Grace: "So...what's your name?"
New person: "Mysterious person jaja."
Grace: "oh, sure. I am mysterious strength."
New person: "hmm am sorry. Can you guys just call me Five for now? I would rather show you who I am first before revealing my name. I want to make things interesting. Seeing as I saved you all, i want to be called Five. It's one of those things I have wanted jaja. My last team hated the nickname but am getting it done now."
Grace thought this person might either be out of his mind or secretly someone else. Either way, they all felt they could trust him for now. If he had weird quirks he wanted to get out of them way, by all means, they would play ball until the end.
Grace: " okay, I see you like games. Fine, we make it to the end and you reveal your name before we catch clues as to who you are. Sound good."
Five: " yassss. Awesome. Also I know I am suppose to keep watch with you but... I can't actually hold any longer, I am about to pass out."
Before face could say anything, five passed out. She then saw a ring similar to the GHR's and assumed it was such. She looked at Mal's GHR and wondered about today's attack and Five's story of something telling him to come to their rescue. She decided to go check on Mal.
Mal was resting, opening her eyes, trying to stay as alert as possible. As soon as she saw Grace checking on her she sigh a relief. She knew they were safe or else they would be moving around. Grace checked on her wounds and decided that while they weren't in immediate danger. They still needed to get her back at camp to get better treatments.
Grace: "Mal. Umm. So we might need to start moving soon. Don't worry. As soon as we get to camp we can treat you better. We will rest for today and we will carry you. I am going to start making something to carry you."
Grace checked out her surroundings to make sure no one was around and on her patrolling was grabbing items. She got a couple of long sticks and things to wrap them. She worked as she watched her surroundings. They would lose a day but they would still be able to make it in time.
Night came and then early in the morning, Grace woke everyone up. She was extremely tired as she just let everyone rest. Jolin got up once or twice to help but it was hard for him to walk, same with mark's arms. Five did wake up to help for the rest of the early morning. They got Mal on the makeshift stretcher while Five and Grace pulled together. Jolin wrapped marks arm after he complained and then mark helped support Jolin as they all walked together. At this pace they could still make it. At one point some teams passed them. However lookin at their state, they didn't try to fight them. It was pointless. They had all gauges their capabilities. Plus if they had a full team, they would all need to be working together from then on. At one point they met Tomlin and his team. They helped carry Mal and relief the others. Together they made it back to camp and the final stage. Thanks to Tomlin and company, they made it in time.
They told the instructors about the encounter and got Mal some help. They looked concerned and shocked when they learned about the attack. They called for 3 days rest or to go home since the month visit was coming anyways. They needed to scout the area and ensure no enemies were lurking or knew where to find them. They did have hidden people in a 5 miles radius making sure no one found them but they never thought about 35 miles out where his happened. They therefore needed to ensure the students safety and use all the instructors to investigate and make sure their camp was still secret.
This grace and Jolin went home after Mals loyal guard came to pick him up. They would have 5 days off technically. They hoped it would be enough time for Mal to come back. They knew at this point it was just hopeful. Due to the hurried commands of the instructors, they didn't have enough time to talk to Five. They decided to worry about it later.
