Chapter 20: Meetings 2
While Grace and Jolin were resting in top of a tree. Grace spotted some light coming from afar. It just so happened that her line of sight was mostly free of foliage from the trees even if she was on top of a tree. Then she got curious about the mystery person and wanted to check out who it was.
Grace: " Hey mark get up. Let's go check that campfire. It might be her or the other person."
Just when they had finished gathering all their things and ready to climb down. Someone was coming. It was a group of four people. They immediately froze.
Jolin looked at Grace intensely. That wasn't good news. They hoped they hadn't been tracked. Luckily it looked like they hadn't been spotted.
One of the people leaned against their tree and was fixing one of their shoes. He the. Suddenly noticed some marks and looked up.
Person: " There's someone up there!"
Person 2: "Get them! Or make them come down."
Jolin: "Shiiiiiiiiiiiiii...."
Grace: "okay lets propose a fight so we can climb safely down the tree and then run towards that fire and hopefully get whoever to help us since we have four people on our backs."
Jolin; " was about to say something like that heh. "
Grace: "We are coming down! Look, we are all friends here. If you can't let us go, then at least give us a fair fight."
Person: "It's a girl. Wow."
Person: "Well for you miss, we will give you guys a fair fight and let you come down first. Look we are stepping away."
Mark came down first and then looked up to wait for Grace. Grace came down gracefully and then got ready to fight.
Person 2:" Well not to fair but I have seen you guys fight so it sort of is. Plus we know you got a bag of dried meat there."
Jolin:" Lets just get done with this come on!"
Jolin and Grace stayed with their backs on the direction of the campfire so that after the first 2 exchanges they would turn and run.
Thankfully the other party only attacked grace with one person and the other stayed as look out. Big mistake, Grace was also very strong, stronger than the person attacking them. The remaining two attacked Jolin at the same time. Grace let the other person get the upper hand on the first attack and then she made a sound letting Jolin know she was about to kick him far away and he'll him so they could start tuning away together.
Bam! The second person was thrown away into the direction of the scout person. Jolin then launched himself towards one person and knocked them out. Meanwhile, grace grabbed the other one closest to her before they could react. She then slammed them on the ground and knocked him out. Thankfully Jolin had just made that person retreat with his last attacked and therefor had run into grace. Grace helped Jolin get up quickly and they started to run fast.
Grace:" zig it were three it would've been better! I hate running away from a fight."
Jolin: "Me too but we still have a long way to go! Let's meet this mysterious person of yours.watch out to your left!"
Grace:" Got you!"
As they were being chased, they got closer and closer. They just hoped that they would catch on and not get pinned from the front and back.
Grace:" shhhhhhhhiiiiittt where are they! Ok Jolin you take one one of the strongest and a weak one and indo the same. I leave you the scout!"
They threw their stuff near the campfire and went ran I bit away from it to prepare and have a showdown.
Person1 one slowed down in front of them and started to clap.
Person 1: "Very nice, you had us fooled. Now what is with this camp fire. Did you lead us on a trap?"
Jolin: " Yup, our buddies are hiding and waiting our signal to attack. We weren't expecting you guys to accidentally find us but since you had the misfortune. We might as well show you."
Person3: "Well you might as well show your cards because we are coming hard down on you! Truth or not we will find out now!"
The four of them started to attack together and Jolin and Grace took their targets.
On the bushes Were hiding mal and mark. They looked at each other. They had seen the very good skills of grace and Mal but they knew that no matter how good they all were, the other team also had two great warriors and the fight would soon end against Grace's team.
Jolin and Grace were beating subdued. As much as grace tried to finish his people off fast enough to help Jolin, she couldn't do it fast enough. Jolin also was fighting two very good people and as strong and ferocious as they both were. Under the combined attacked they were being hit. Jolin wasn't badly damaged as he scout was the weakest and Jolin was very strong. Therefore, the scout was the only one injured from the opposite team.
Grace evaded a slash to the back of her head and the somersaulted as a foot was trying to knock her feet. She was forcibly being deprecated from Jolin who was hitting hard hits but also being hit back. At this point they would probably start bleeding soon.
"Shit it shouldn't be this hard," thought Grace.
" isn't it suppose to be trying to get to the finish line and finding allies," continued to question Jolin who verily had time to think.
Then suddenly movement from behind the group of four who were being taken down by the two upcoming people. Suddenly it was a four vs four battle.mal and mark quickly beat their people and grace and Mal finally at able to eat the upper hand. The other people decided to get awaysince the two new people ame in and knew they wouldn't be chased because grace and Mal had been injured.
Grace:" what toook you guys so long?!i mean thank you."
Then grace stared confusedly at Mal because she knew Mal was suppose to be a girl.Yet currently she saw her dressed as a man, a pretty man at that. Looking like a ninja yet very confused. She decided not to say anything and speak to her after.
Grace:" Cough. Thanks guys. I am grace and this is my parent Jolin. Based on your moves there I would really just like a peaceful night where we can protect each other and maybe see if we can work together. How about it.
Mark: "You guys put up a good fight so I am willing to sleep on it. The reason we have a fire going on is because all of my clothes got wet so if you guys are willing to help us keep watch, I am all for a peace treaty.
Jolin: "Deal."
Thus Race took first watch while Jolin let mark borrow His extra clothes while grace kept watch over the campfire and marks clothes. Mal decided to sleep near the campfire as well and stayed there thinking for a while.
