Chapter 6: Going out to the meeting place
The two great families decided to send both youngsters in the same carriage and pull the guards together in order to increase the protection and strength. It's not that it was too dangerous nowadays, but they wanted to be extra careful since these were their precious gems. They also just wanted to show off the might of each other during this time. Of course, grace's family provides a very sturdy and war proven carriage that had defensive mechanisms in place. This was the perfect time to show their ingenuity as well as beautiful design. This type of carriages were designed in part by one of their female fighter ancestors who liked pretty things that had hidden weapons to deceive the enemies. Both house guardians were dressed nicely but practically and were some of the best in the family. They themselves were happy to go out and experience a bit of freedom and new sightings since they would get a few days off after dropping off these youngsters at the camp. They both had packed somewhat light since most of the clothing would be bought at said camp, as well as certain equipment and materials. No one knew for sure of the location but they did know the meeting coordinates where they would all gather in order to be guided to the undisclosed location of said camp. Jolin and Grace were exited at the mystery and importance of this "adventure."
Surprisingly enough, their families weren't the only ones who came to say farewell, other friends and people who knew about the camp selections came and wished them lucked. They all gave them some snacks and asked to be their sponsors in the future because they knew they would succeed. They all walked and played music until they crossed the city gates. Both teens were happy about this scene because they had not realized how big of a thing this was and didn't fully process the grandios meaning of it all.
Jolin: "Wow, that was great but at the same time I feel more pressure to know everyone knows about our adventure here and their expectations on us."
Grace: "Ha, don't worry too much, I mean please freak out so I can punch you."
Jolin: " Well at least we are set with snacks for the journey and beyond jeje. We can also hid them in your things since your a lady and they wouldn't there go through your personal stuff, couch cough, I mean just in case they aren't permitted."
Grace: " Are you serious! Ah, alright, just because most of them are my favorites and I don't know how the food and snack situation is there. I normally don't get to enjoy such things but if I am to suffer because you are coming along then I might as well sacrifice my diet in order to have something sweet to mitigate this all jeje."
Both continued talking and gradually started to get more serious and made all sorts of contingency plans at Grace's discretion. Sure, normally Grace would be serious and seem perfect, but thanks to Joplin she started to teases and talk more. Showing her fun side here and there. Three days later they arrived at one of the meeting points with two days to spare. The place they stopped at had a forest region and various tents and temporary perimeters were put in place. They confirmed their arrival and bid farewell to their company. Both families guards were proud of them and game them last minute confidence and good luck wishes. They first went to the cafeteria tent and chose one of the tables. On a span of three days, these selected individuals had to make it within that time frame and could set out any time after the opening day of this provisional camp. By the third day it would close and no one would be able to advance to the second stage where they would travel to the actual camp. So long as they informed the authorities of their arrival, they would pass the first and most easiest hurdle. On the middle of the camp, there was a roster with the names and information of all the participants that would gather at that camp. Whether it was big or small schools within the cities, most of them were present in this pre-camp where they would get to know each other before they all came together at the main camp. Since they had arrived one day after this pre-camp had opened, it meant they had two days to explore, get to know others, and ask questions of the staff present. They had a quite a lot of free time but they also had some informational sessions if they wished to attend.
For both, this was one of the first times they would be sleeping outside their home or so far away from it. They were separated based on gender but Grace and Jolin would find each other during the day. During this time, grace and Jolin got to meet with a few there interesting people. Grace was in a four person tent, she wasn't usually used to interesting with anyone, let alone complete strangers. However, they all had a mutual understanding and were capable in some respects so the first night went without any incidents. On Jolins side however, there was a rich guy who liked to let everyone know by how much he talked about his home and all the things that were missing here. However, unluckily for him, he wasn't in a tent where people were pushovers or less brilliant that him so he eventually quieted down. Every day new people would come in and it was always interesting to see who came and how they arrived. By the third day everyone had arrived without accident and the camp was filled with excitement because they knew their journey was about to begin.
Even though these teens were some of the greatest of each place, it didn't mean there wasn't an incidents where people from other cities would talk about the other city's students and put everyone on edge. However, they were soon reminded of the importance of fermenting relationships and that their arch enemies from other cities could be their future teammates and brothers. Thus, it went without much accidents. Everyone was generally excited because it had been a while since all the cities had come together to create such teams and cooperate.
