I woke up in the hospital.
Lexi and Mom stood next to the bed looking at me concerned.
"Your awake," Mom said holding my hand.
I didn't remember how I got here. What was going on?
"What happened?" I finally said still dazed.
"You were struck by lightning," Lexi said.
I what?
"How?" was all I could say.
"I don't know honey," mom said.
"Your lucky to be alive."
I looked to the right side of the bed. A doctor stood there with a clipboard and pin. "Some people wouldn't have a chance," the doctor said.
I finally took in the situation. I was struck by lightning. I was struck by lightning.
I really was lucky to be alive.
"Are you okay?" Mom said.
Was I? Could I go on with my day perfectly fine? Could I?
"Let her rest," the doctor said.
Mom nodded her head. Lexi and Mom left the room closing the door behind them.
"Im Doctor Kim," the lady said.
"If you need anything don't be afraid to ask for me okay?" Doctor Kim said.
I nodded. I slowly sat up.
Doctor Kim helped me get up out of the bed.
I felt kinda weak like my energy was sucked out of me. I walked to the mirror. I looked okay.
I strectched my arms, legs and studied myself in the mirror.
"Your back.."
"The lightning left a mark," she said.
I slowly lifted up the cotton hospital shirt I was in. There was a white mark running down my back.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Like lightning.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
It didn't look bad but I would now have the memory of being a survivor of a lightning strike.
I pulled my shirt back down.
"Are you okay?" Doctor Kim asked.
"Yes."
Or so I thought I was...
