Chapter 2: CHAPTER 2 : THE BRIDE OF THE WEDDING

This is only a family event. The marriage took place in very close and super tight security. Journalists cannot penetrate at all. Only close relatives are allowed to attend the event.

The party was held in one of Mr. Soeryodiharjo's mansions. The mansion is quite large and even has more than a dozen guest rooms. The back garden has been transformed into a party area. Colorful lights and white ribbons make the garden looks like a fairyland. It's only a small party, but all the things were arranged perfectly. Guests have arrived since the afternoon and look curious about the wedding. The wedding has never published until they receive the invitation.

The groom looks tired and getting older in a day. In the other hand, Delia looked younger and more beautiful. She gives delight smile to everyone. Delia is just a new artist who is not widely known yet. Everyone thought that she was so lucky to be able to climb very high. Many other artists are very jealous of her good fortune. Even though Mr. Soeryodiharjo is more than half a century old, he still looks fit and healthy. His face and posture still look attractive. So it certainly doesn't matter for a youngster like Delia to get him as a husband.

Delia can be called a 'late' artist because she had her debuted as an artist at twenty-four years old. She gets a small role in several movies and soap operas. And now, she was twenty-six years old, but she is still far from being called a talented actress. The Soeryodiharjo family owns a production house. And that's where Mr. Soeryodiharjo met her.

Delia has a small figure, which makes her look younger than her age. She is not very beautiful, but her face looks very sweet and innocent. Then a few guests make some gossip about her fortune as a bitch who used her body and innocent face to support her career and luxurious life by marrying a wealthy old man.

This marriage is the second marriage of Mr. Soeryodiharjo. His first wife, the mother of his four children who died a year ago. And Harris did not even attend his mother's funeral. He was still very angry with his mother. Even though he doesn't hate her. He still refused to meet her until his mother died.

Harris looked at the bride and groom from a distance. A beautiful face that he missed, and hated at the same time. Now he was so close to her, but it also seems so far away for him to reach her. The woman always treats him as a stranger. They have met each other twice, but she pretends that he was nothing just as thin air. She treats him politely in front of others as a father's woman to his son. It's really painful for him.

Harris should have returned to America two weeks ago after his business affairs were completed. For a month since his first meeting with the woman, he kept trying to find and meet her. The woman always avoids him. Refuse to meet him. And soon disappeared when they met each other. He really felt crazy facing her.

Today is the third time he can look at that face again. His face is full of gloom. He wanted to come to her and take her away. But in front of the guests and his families, it was impossible to do.

Harris continued to wonder what she wanted by entering his family. He was so sure that Delia knew who she was marrying. He doesn't care if she wants to hurt him. But is it true to be his stepmother? The woman implies revenge in her eyes, every time she looks at him. Harris was only able to look at her from a distance. Several times he sighed, remembering the wounds they had made into each other's hearts.

Night's getting late. The party is over. Many guests left the place. Even a couple have left while ago. Harris walked down the park to his room. He passed the terrace of his father's room. He saw Delia on the terrace of the room. Her wedding dress has been released. She was wearing a pink satin simple dress that made her look fresh and sexy. The woman saw him, but she still acted like she didn't know him. She just slightly nodded her face. And then turn to the other direction

Harris feels doubt before finally he stepped closer to the woman. Delia looked at him with a surprise for a moment and tried to ignore him. Nobody around them. She feels no safe and wants to escape from him. Harris stared fixedly at her without saying a word. Suddenly Haris gripped her arm roughly and dragged her away.

"Follow me!" He snapped at her roughly.

Delia tried to follow Haris's steps which continued to drag her mercilessly.

"Let me go!" shouted her and try to release her hand from his grip. "You hurt me!"

Harris keeps ignore her and continued walking to another part of the house.

But it seemed that Delia's efforts to release her hands were in vain because Harris gripped her strongly.

"Haris, you hurt me!" Finally, she calls his name for the first time in six years.

Harris pause his step and turned his head, "Aah, you know my name?", he said sarcastically.

Then continued walking past the main building and towards the small house at the back of the main house. Harris took her to a room

"What do you want!?" he asked Delia after throwing her onto a white sofa in the room.

"Then I should as you the same question!" shout her

"What do you mean? Don't pretend anymore!" said Haris while clutching Delia's face

"What is your purpose?"

"Haris!" Delia snapped as she tried to let go of her face from his hand "Enough!"

"So, you remember me?"

"You're the only memory I want to eliminate from my brain and from my life!" Delia said with anger.

She held back her tears. She promised herself not to cry for the man in front of her anymore. She hates him a lot.

"Are you crazy?" replied Harris "After you ran away for a long time. Suddenly, you appeared as my father's wife?" A sinister smile emerged from the corner of Haris's lips.

"I've never run away!" Delia hit Haris's chest and pushed him away. "You left me first!"

Harris gripped her wrist hard. Delia sighed, but Harris increasingly tightened his grip. They looked at each other with hatred.

After a while, Harris's eyes softened. Harris saw Delia's hateful eyes with a painful. He missed that woman. He can't really hate her. The woman had made him miserable and almost desperate with his life. Their past was full of misunderstandings. They were unknowingly hurt each other. And leaving hatred in their each hearts.

"Delia... I..." he said softened.

"Let me go!" shout her, "I hate you!"

"Delia please...I... " he trying hard to continue his word. He felt his throat choking. "And Alia..."

Her expression changed after hearing the name he mentioned. Alia is their daughter. She looks panic and confuses.

"Aaarrghhh !!!" she shouted hysterically while pulling her hand over her face "I didn't kill her! It was an accident! I've never killed her !!"

Delia cried hysterically. Alia's death hit her very much.

After many years she still remembers every detail of the accident as a nightmare. She could still remember how the tiny body had to finally exhale because of her carelessness. That is the biggest regret in her life. And Harris's mother put all the mistakes on her. And call her a murderer.

Harris looked at her with a broken heart. Delia looks so poor.

"Delia!" Harris snorted worriedly, seeing Delia continuing hysterical.

Worried that Delia's cry was inviting other people's suspicion, Haris muffles Delia's mouth and hugged her. Her body was still trembling. He tries to calm her down.

"Delia, please..." he whispered softly in her ear. "Sshhh.... shhh..... Delia, I didn't blame you. I've never blamed you. It's not your fault. It was an accident."

Delia still crying and feel depressed.

"Delia, I was wrong...."

He removes his hand from her mouth slowly. Harris was still worried that Delia would scream again.

Delia still crying but stop screaming. Her body still tremble.

Harris takes her carefully on the sofa. He pulls her to his embrace.

"Delia, you can hate me as much as you like. But please don't leave me."

Delia was still sobbing

"Delia, honey, you don't have to forgive me. But please let me take care of you. I'll pay for all the years that we were separate, all the pain that you got."

He pushed Delia's body gently. He looked at that beautiful face. The face that once made him fall in love, even the feeling is still the same until now. He once hated her. But that does not reduce all the love he had to her.

After a while, Delia began to calm down. Harris wiped the tears that still dripped down.

Delia looked at Harris. His face is still the same as six years ago. His handsome face looked more mature. His deep eyes seemed to be able to sink her world. And yes, she has been drowned in misery because of him. They looked at each other in silence for a while.

Harris asked, "Delia ... me ..." and he was unable to continue his words. His regrets will not restore Delia's world. She was so hurt. He left the woman when she really needed him. He held Delia's hand very carefully as if it was something very fragile. Haris's eyes showed great regret.

"I want...."

Delia just keeps silence and looked away. Harris sat next to her while still holding her hand.

"Our story is over." Delia replied, "I'd better go back."

Delia pulled her hand from Haris's grasp.

"Delia, we never divorced." he pulled her arm back when she tried to get up.

"You left me. You chose her," she said without turning his head. Her eyes are full of wounds and hatred. Harris can see it. "My husband has been lost ... for years. What did I expect?"

"I really never meant it."

"Do we need to know what this means when we feel the impact?" there was bitterness in her voice. Delia's tears flowed again. "Your family is full of decay. You left too long. You don't know what happened at all."

"Yes, I know," Harris said, interrupting. "I understand.."

"What do you understand!" Delia interrupted in a high tone. "Do you know that witch-demon keeps bothering me. Even after you leave!"

"My mom...."

"Never mind ..." she said softly later. "I revenge her." There is an evil smile on her face. "I don't care how bad I am. But I've got what I want."

"I hope you still give me a chance ..." said Haris softly. He said it carefully, worried that Delia would explode again.

"Do you think we still have a chance, huh ..." Delia smiled bitterly answering.

Harris just looked at him. Delia's face was so cold. There was no more cheerful girl he had known.

"I'm still waiting for you," said Haris softly. His face looked down at the tiny pair of hands he still held

They no longer speak through words. Their stare each other tell more than words.

Haris's hand gently touched Delia's delicate face. Wipe off the tear on her cheeks.

Delia looked at the face of the person she had loved for the first time. The one who has ever had her as a wife. A man, she has been dreamed of fostering a happy family. Her life looks wonderful with him. The man was so handsome and really loved her. He is also always extraordinary. Only when the disaster arrived, all of her dreams turned into hell.

"Harris....." she can't continue her word
