Chapter 100: Aye! Aye! Captain

Evening
The building was quiet and dark because the workers and staff were given an early leave. A car was parked, not too far, with its headlights off. Two entities were inside, sitting in the front seats. They were both wearing hoodies and their expressions were grim under the faint moonlight.
"Are you sure she will come?" Eddie turned her head to look at Alice.
"Of course", Alice spoke as she nibbled at a bar of chocolate, "Didn't you notice her greedy eyes?"
"Hmmm", Eddie shoved her right hand inside a packet of chips, making a wheezy noise.
Buzz buzz buzz...
Alice nearly jumped from her seat while Eddie shifted her weight on the seat with extreme irritation. She squinted her eye at Alice who was smiling awkwardly. Both behaved like the purest of blood sisters. Then, Eddie shoved her left hand inside her left pocket and saw Jake was calling. Her expressions changed and a cute smile christened on her lips. She picked it up and whispered softly, "Hello."
"Where are you?" Jak seemed irritated.
"On a mission, Captain."
"Hmm", Jake replied, "Are you on a hunt?"
"Yep", Eddie replied excitedly.
"Then, take care. Call me later", He ordered like a commando.
"Aye! Aye! Captain", Eddie saluted which was invisible to Jake. Then, she hung up. She stole a glance at Alice and saw her focusing on something outside the window. She followed her line of sight and saw a shadowy figure creeping inside the building.
"Switch on the tablet", Alice ordered. Eddie compiled without any words. The tablet screen lit up and it showed the footage fo the corridor from the stairs. Alice leaned towards Edde and peered through the screen.
"The camera qualities are great, isn't it?" Eddie spoke with a smug look on her face. But, Alice nodded with a 'hm' without lifting her eyes. Seeing that, Eddie pouted sadly. She focussed herself on the screen. Soon, both of them witnessed the appearance of the shadowy figure on the screen. Alice straightened up and stole a glance at Eddie. She had a complicated expression on her face.
The shadowy figure had prepared itself before coming. It had a veil on its face and gloves on its hands, wearing an all-black outfit. Just then, the figure prepared to lift its veil. Borth Eddie and Alice held their breath. Eternity felt like a ticking time bomb. Every second was torture. Both of then were glued to their tablets.
When the figure unveiled itself, their last hope was crushed into pieces.
