Meeting Again
Seeing the youth inside the booth, the group felt weird, but nonetheless approached him.
Everyone felt relief and glad to have found the right location and to know its real.
The 4 turrets around the booth intimidated them and made the group act more timid, but affirmed their thought that this was indeed a military base.
Approaching the booth, Brian evaluated the youth and noticed the young man wasn't wearing an army uniform nor any armor or such to protect from attacks, just a plain white T-Shirt and shorts.
Arriving in front of the glass window separating the youth and him, Brian spoke
"Excuse me, but can you let us in? Our group is in need of supplies and we'd be happy to help out the army if you guys needed. I serve in the police f..f...force so I have more experience and would be much more help than a kid like you."
Brian slipped all pleasantries and got to the issue acting haughtily. His speech sounded stiff though as when he spoke, 2 of the futuristic looking turrets rotated and 'aimed' at him.
Brian didn't care for who it was, he would always act arrogant and this arrogance is what blocked his promotion.
But the young man didn't seem to take Brian serious as he spoke back
"Huh? Do whatever you want just don't disturb me if you can't pay, and I'm not a soldier or involved with the army in anyway, thank you."

Alex looked at the man standing in front of the large crowd that seemed to be the leader.
When Alex heard the way the man spoke to him, he already thought of not letting him inside.
The man seemed to be 10 years older than Alex, but Alex didn't care at all for his age.
"Huh? Do whatever you want just don't disturb me if you can't pay, and I'm not a soldier or involved with the army in anyway, thank you."
"Aren't you supposed to help us and the civilians!? Stop playing jokes! We don't have any money! Call someone higher up! To think the army doesn't care about us anymore!"
Alex thought the man was crazy with all his rambles, but connected the dots and figured the group thought this was a military post or something similar and they could get supplies here for free.
"We don't accept normal U.S. dollars or anything else, only this."
Alex plainly said as a octagonal coin appeared in his hand. The man instantly remembered the coins they found earlier which he considered useless. The man seemed as if he was gonna continue causing a scene, but coming behind him, a woman's shout could be heard
"Is that you Alex!?"
Alex looked at the approaching figure and recognized her immediately, his current crush: Ms. Becker.
Ms. Becker approached the booth and spoke with Alex.
"What are you doing here, Alex?"
"Hehe, I'm actually the owner of this base, Ms. Becker."
Alex spoke proudly, not longer introverted.
"How'd you build a wall this large in no less than a day?"
"Eh, that...that's a secret."
"I see..."
"But what are you doing here, Ms. Becker?"
"I evacuated the area with these people when the zombies started happening. We heard you on the radio and came to check on the supplies. I don't know how much food cost, but can you spare some for at least my daughter! She hasn't eaten all day! Please!"
Gabriela started calm, but started tearing when she spoke of her daughter standing next to her.
Being alone with a group of strangers as rotting monsters roamed the streets has frightened Gabriela even if she only stayed on the streets for 2 days.
Still holding her daughter's hand, Gabriela wiped her tears, but when she was about to apologize, a warmth surrounded her whole body.
"It's okay, it's okay."
Alex spoke in a soothing tone while rubbing Gabriela's back.
"Come into our home, you can stay as long as you want. We have food, water, and working electricity."
Gabriela felt warm, but stepped out of Alex's hug. Alex didn't find Gabriela's behavior rude or saddening that she left his hug and waited for Gabriela to collect herself.

After waiting for a while, Gabriela spoke.
"Thank you! We'll take you up on your offer and repay you anyway we can."
Were the first words spoken when she finished collecting herself.
"It's no problem at all and keep the coins, I don't need any money from you."
After Alex spoke he returned inside the booth and opened the door to the right of the booth.
"Wait for me to finish with the rest of them so I can escort you to your home."
Gabriela felt strange at the words 'new home', but ignored her strange feeling and entered with her daughter in front.
Sarah felt weird seeing her mother get hugged by the man, but didn't try to stop her mother as the she had seen the man whenever her mother took her to the college on 'Bring your child to work day'.
Her mother always consoled the man even when she visited, but the man always looked at her warmly..
Sarah didn't feel anything special to him though.

When Gabriel and Sarah finished walking through the door, another man approached a to enter, but Alex immediately closed the metal door in front of the man.
"What the hell man!"
The man was the cop that acted arrogantly before Gabriela spoke with Alex.
"If you can't pay the entrance fee don't enter. Listen up, food cost 15 of these Krypto Coins. water cost 20 Kyrpto Coins, and knives or guns cost 200 Krypto Coins. And if any of you don't know where to get Krypto Coins then hunt zombies or creatures you see. If you have any Krypto Coins then step forward and purchase before I close for the day."
Alex wanted to close the booth and go talk with Gabriela, but he needed to make sure they left when they had money.
Glancing around the group of people and seeing no one walking forward, Alex entered the door leading the booth to the inside of the wall and left ignoring the cop trying to speak to Alex and the murmuring crowd.
But before entering the door, Alex turned around and shouted
"Oh, and it cost 100 Krypto Coins to enter the base! Make sure to come tomorrow if you have Krypto Coins!"
before shutting the door.
All the women there felt envious of Gabriela for being friends with the owner of base that should've been impossible to build in a day and all the men felt jealous at Alex for being able to act arrogantly and owning a base with a wall expanding for hundreds of meters.
The group were easily able to tell the young man, Alex, was the owner of the base from his short conversation with Gabriela.

When Alex left the booth, the crowd started feeling anxious.
"What do we do now that he won't let us in!?"
"We should break the wall down!"
"How can he treat us like that?"
"Calm down, what we need to do first is hunt zombies and get coins. Causing a commotion won't get us anywhere with uncivilized people like him!"
Brian took this opportunity to gain the support from the crowd and position of leader.
"Fine, but how will we get that money coins for all of us to eat!?"
"We'll let the children and women eat first then the men! As for the group waiting behind, their supplies should last long enough to wait a few more days."
Some wanted to return to the group waiting, but ultimately decided to hunt zombies and buy food.
The group thought hunting the zombies and getting coins would be easy, but they didn't know that only one or a few coins dropped from zombies, and that was if the coins dropped.
Plus Alex overpricing everything everything more than 10 times like the bottle of 500 ml water which only cost 1 Krypto Coin in the 'Merchant' shop, or the small Barrita that also costed only 1 Krypto Coin.
As for a knife or a gun, it only cost the same as a a cleaner bot which Alex found too cheap, but didn't care as he could earn money for overpricing everything an no one, but another 'Merchant' and him would know.
As for if the group bought something, Alex wouldn't care as he had plenty of time and in a city like Las Vegas, there'd be plenty of people still living.

Alex entered the base and spotted Gabriela and her daughter standing near the door. Alex walked to them smiling.
"Hey, I hope I didn't make you wait for long."
"Not at all, 5 minutes haven't even passed yet."
"Well I'm glad then. How about I show you where you'll be sleeping and eating?"
"That'd be great, thank you."
"Don't worry about it."
Alex looked at Gabriela's daughter and asked
"Hey, princess. Do you want to ride on my shoulders? I bet you're tired from walking so far."
Alex spoke gently and Sarah nodded as she felt her feet ache a bit. For an adult, the walk isn't much but for an 8 year old, they'd be tired, much less a girl that has less energy.
Even though Sarah didn't know Alex for a long time, she felt like Alex wouldn't hurt her and let him carry her on his shoulders.
But Gabriela didn't feel like it was proper and told Sarah off.
"Sarah, get down from there, it's impolite to do that!"
Gabriela tried to grab Sarah, but Alex dodged back without stumbling and held Sarah.
"Like I said, don't worry. I'm not tired at all and Sarah is really cute so I don't mind carrying her. I'm sure you're tired as well so let's get going so you and Sarah can rest."
Gabriela wanted to speak once again, but Alex has already started walking forward.
'The house is 425 hundred meters far from the gate and and Sarah wouldn't be able to walk farther after walking all the way here so I should just let her be.'
Gabriela convinced herself like that and followed behind Alex carrying Sarah. For some unknown reason, Gabriela stopped as she looked at Alex and felt closer to him while thinking Sarah looked like a daughter sitting on her father's wide shoulders as even though Alex looked slim, underneath his shirt were abs and his back widened as his Strength variable grew.
Gabriela shakes her head as she cleared those weird thoughts from her mind and followed after the pair.
