Chapter 2: Ch.2 Goodbye world, Hello....bandits!?

A week passed since Harry entered the time chamber and the goblins were not idle in that time. Vaults were opened for the few remaining Blacks excluding Bellatrix, Narcissa and her spawn Draco. Each vault being filled with enough galleons to last three lifetimes and copies of any knowledge found in the Black vaults.

They also began emptying the Potter and Black vaults into expanded trunks that had enough charms, runes and wards anchored onto them that they could probably survive a nuclear missile. When the vaults were emptied the goblins got the enjoyable experience of announcing that the Potter and Black families have withdrawn from gringotts and cut ties from the wizarding world.

The chaos that ensued amongst the masses due to their 'savior' abandoning them was excellent entertainment for the goblin nation. But the real fun began when the great manipulator himself showed up at gringotts demanding answers. Gone was the potentially senile, grandfatherly mask and in its place was a man enraged by his most important chess piece going missing.

The old man had cast dozens of different tracking charms in the lobby, trying to find any trace of the boy. Not that he would ever find any, the wards surrounding the time chamber would make sure of that. When they finally asked him to leave for 'disturbing the piece' and he refused they got the pleasure of forcefully removing him. That the man was now missing a hand due to resisting was the icing on the cake to them.

Now that a week had passed Harry was due to exit any moment. This was why there was a small group of fifteen armed goblins and ragnok himself waiting infront of the chamber doors. The armed guards were there just in case Harry went mad from the seclusion.

When the doors finally opened most of the goblins had to suppress gasps due to the chaotic yet peaceful aura that had passed over them. Then they got a look at the new Lord Black, while he had only aged by one week his muscles were now much more clearly defined, he held such a peaceful expression on his face yet walked like a stalking predator.

Once pale skin was now a healthy golden brown. His black hair had grown past his shoulders yet retained its untamable nature, though he now had some green and red leaves growing throughout it and his emerald green eyes now looked like they had been cut from the stone itself.

Harry was the first to speak, a soft smile on his face. "Its good to finally see another living being after so long, its felt much longer than thirty years."

The slight tension in ragnoks shoulders relaxed at hearing the soft voice. He was glad that the boy pulled through, it would've been a shame to have to kill him after all the effort put into helping him. After taking another glance at his now tanned skin and the stray leaves in his hair ragnok gave a toothy smile and replied.

"Indeed and it seems that you have made very good use of your time, an earth elemental is it? I must say it's a huge step up from the average wand waver."

Harry gave a light laugh at that. "What gave it away? The leaves or the tan? Honestly I'm surprised that more wizards dont go through the process."

" Yes well that particular branch of magic died out during the medieval ages. As you know becoming an elemental is a lot more than just learning to control an element. The process changes you on a genetic level making you as close as you can get to your element while remaining human. Due to this the purebloods in the magical governments decided that it was dark magic as it 'muddled' the blood. Though that was only part of the reason, the other was that it allows individuals to become too powerful, same reason a lot of branches of magic were banned."

Harry had to shake his head at that, by banning so many subject they were effectively preventing any advancement. No wonder they were still stuck in the medieval ages. He would bet that things like the knight bus and Hogwarts Express were the only advancements made in recent times and probably by muggleborns too.

Pushing those thoughts to the back of his mind Harry responded. "So were you able to complete my requests?"

Ragnok had a scary smile on his face when he responded, all sharp teeth and bloodlust.

"Yes we did, all the vaults have been set up and letters were sent out informing them of their new accounts, we have already made our announcement that you cut ties with the wizarding world."

" My people greatly enjoyed watching the masses panic at the loss of their 'savior', that entertainment was fully worth the effort it cost to help you and that's not even mentioning our confrontation with the great manipulator himself who I'm happy to say left Gringotts one hand lighter."

Harry smiled and laughed along with ragnok. If it had been a week earlier he would have been frightened off by the goblins bloodlust. Now though, after thirty years of isolation, even something like this was comparable to a refreshing drink to a man dying of thirst.

"I'm afraid that we do not have very much time remaining though. The old goat was casting tracking charms when he was here and was only stopped from finding you by the wards on the time chamber. Now that you are out we will need to hurry."

Harry was a little let down that they couldn't have a longer talk. He was truly starving for contact with another living being after so long alone. It was understandable though. If he was found now then even if he could fight Dumbledore many would die in the crossfire.

Giving his agreement Harry was led by Ragnok through the maze of tunnels, going far deeper than he thought possible. Finally after hours of traveling they reached a large iron door at the end of a tunnel. Behind that door was a small room empty of everything except a stone arch roughly the size of a full grown man.

The arch was engraved with thousands of runes that gave off an eerie purple glow. Stopping infront of the arch Ragnock reached into what must have been a expanded pocket and pulled out two shrunken trunks and another smaller box.

Opening the small box first, Ragnok took out a silver ring that had a raven head engraved onto it with a small ruby for the eye. Handing it to Harry he gave an explanation. "Since you decided to combine your two houses we melted down the lordship rings and made you this, just needs a drop of blood and it will be bound to your line."

Taking the ring Harry quickly let it absorb some of his blood before putting it on. He then directed his attention to the two shrunken trunks that were handed to him.

"Theres enough protections put on those to survive a nuke so as long as you dont go throwing them into a black hole your fortune is safe. They need to be bloodlocked like your ring so that only you can open them."

Harry could tell by the impatiant look on Ragnoks face that he wanted to hurry this along. Which was understandable, even if they did manage to take one of his hands nobody wanted to deal with an enraged Dumbledore. It would be better for the goblin nation if Harry wasn't found in Gringotts.

So after a nod to Ragnok he watched as the goblin trailed a clawed finger over one of the runes causing a liquid like substance to fill the inside of the arch. Walking up to the glowing purple portal harry spoke one last time before stepping through.

"I cant thank the goblin nations enough for your help. May your gold always flow and your enemies fall to your blades."

Ragnok watched the young lord disappear before shutting down the portal and walking away, a twisted grin on his face.

"Poor foolish wizards, you dont even know what you just lost."

~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~

Passing through the portal Harry had been expecting a more.....visual experience. Something like a kaleidoscope effect or galaxies passing by him at the speed of light. Instead it was much like walking through a simple doorway. One moment he was in a room with Ragnok and a step later he was hit by a scorching heat and surrounded by sand.

If that wasn't bad enough he also happened to land in the middle of someone's camp site. Taking a look at the people he dropped in on his normally peaceful expression slowly twisted into a sneer that would have made snape proud.

There were at least sixty rough looking men dressed in mismatched leather armor that looked to be packing up the camp. But it wasn't this that had so drastically altered his mood. No that would be the five wagons that had large cages built onto them. Each cage held atleast thirty people.

He could see young children, middle aged men, quite a few women and a few elderly. What all of them had in common were the shackles they wore and the resigned defeat on their faces. Now Harry was famous for a lot of things in the wizarding world but one of the few that he truly earned was for his legendary anger.

Even after thirty years of solitude that had surprisingly mellowed him out quite a bit there were still some things that can easily spark that temper. Slavery is definitely one of them.

The bandits never stood a chance against an enraged Harry. One moment they were just going about their normal routine, packing up after a break in their travels. The next a purple portal appeared and disappeared just as quickly after a black haired boy no older than sixteen stepped through. After taking in his surroundings they watched as his peaceful expression morphed into a mask of anger that had their blood run cold.

With a simple wave of his hand twenty large spikes made of sand launched from the ground, impaling their victims and lifting them up into the air. The remaining forty drew their weapons and charged at him. In response Harry stomped the ground causing all fourty to sink up to their knees into the sand. Another wave and thirty nine more spikes shot out of the ground killing the bandits.

Slowly Harry made his way towards the last panicking bandit. He was begging for mercy but it was ignored. When he was directly infront of the bandit he made eye contact. 'Legilimens!' Ripping through the mans mind with none of the subltey usually involved with the mind arts, Harry gathered all the information he could about just where he ended up.

From what he learned he was in a land called the Elemental Nations, a continent broken up into five large countries and multiple smaller ones. Apparently he was lucky that the first people he met were only simple bandits as it could have been much worse.

Each of the five great nations and many of the smaller ones all have what they call 'hidden villages' that produce shinobi that can use a energy called 'chakra' to pull off seemingly supernatural feats. Each of these villages is ruled by a 'Kage' who is usually one of if not the strongest shinobi in the village.

Currently he was in the land of wind, home of Sunagakure the village hidden in the sand. From what the bandit knew of the country it was the poorest of the great five, having to rely on trade to survive due to the lack of fertile land. Not to mention sunagakure was crippled three years ago in a failed invasion attempt that they were tricked into. It was actually pretty sad.

Shaking off the slight headache from taking in so much information he looked over to the group of slaves and sighed as another problem presented itself. These people spoke japanese and his new last name black wouldn't sound right translated which meant he'd need to pick a new name for the black family that wont stand out so much.

After a moments thought he smirked. Kurohoshi, kuro for black and hoshi for star since it was like a family tradition to name their kids after stars and constellations. After another stomp of his foot that caused all the bandits bodies to sink beneath the sand he turned his attention to the slaves.

A single overpowered unlocking charm cast over each wagon had not only the cage doors open but also the shackles on each former slave. When the last cage was open Harry stepped back allowing the former slaves to come to terms with their new freedom.

They were obviously hesitant at first, especially after the massacre they just witnessed which reminded them of something the current kazekage would do. But eventually each of them exited the cages and gathered together into a group. A single man who looked in his early forties stepped ahead of the group and made his way towards Harry. He was tall at least six foot, covered in dense whipcord tight muscles and carried himself like a fighter. His clothing consisted of a loose blue kimono top and black hakamas. In fact if it wasn't for the hacking cough that he got every few steps Harry may have been intimidated.

Bowing low to the ground the man spoke in a rather formal manner. "My name is Kemono, Tetsu and I speak for my entire group when I thank you for saving us. May we get the name of our savior?"

Harry almost flinched at the title but reasoned that he technically earned it this time, atleast to these people he did. "My name is Kurohoshi, Harry and theres no need for thanks I simply did what any man should when seeing such atrocities happening right in front of him."

Tetsu's face broke out into a large grin as he spoke. "Ha-rii, hmm sounds a bit strange but not in a bad way. Well even if it may have been the right thing there are still not many that would go out of their way to save us so you have our thanks Kurohoshi-samma."

He really did flinch that time. "Ah, theres no need for formality just call me Harii." He decided to just go along with the mans mispronunciation, atleast it would be easier for the natives.

"Very well Harii-samma" The amused glint in Tetsu's eyes had the corner of harii's eye twitching but he decided against arguing and moved on to more important things. "Are there any serious injuries?"

The change in subject had Tetsu stand straighter and his mood turn much more serious.

"There were no serious injuries, mostly light damage from the bandits rough treatment. They didnt even touch the women, seemingly not wanting to damage the 'goods'. This has me believing that they are working for someone else that they either respect or are too scared of to go against. Usually bandits simply cant help themselves from taking at least a few slaves as their own."

Harii thought about that for a second and nodded, it did make sense. "Go back to the group and have everyone stand close together. If they are just lighter injuries then I will heal you all at the same time."

Tetsu nodded and walked back to the group though he was confused, never having heard of a mass healing technique before. When they were all in a tight group Harii held his wand in front of him and began the wand movements and incantation that he created himself. "Curacio Pulvis Pluvia". The tip of his wand slowly glowed with a bright golden light that shot out and struck the ground infront of the group. From there the golden light expanded into I giant golden dome that surrounded the former slaves.

Every one of them were surprised at the appearance of a gold dome trapping them inside. But that surprise quickly changed to awe when small particles of golden dust started raining down from above them. The dust passed straight through clothing and was absorbed by their skin, slowly bruises started fading, cuts and scrapes healed over and they each felt like they had gained a small burst of energy that overpowered the fatigue from their time in captivity.

The dome held up for ten minutes before dispersing into golden dust. After which Harii proceeded to make his way through the small crowd, casting diagnosis charms on each person to make sure nothing was missed. It took a few hours due to the fact that there were one hundred and fifty people but he was glad he did.

There were quite a few fractured bones that needed individual healing and a few diseases in the early stages that were fairly simple to treat. It was when the last person, Tetsu was checked over that Harii got a shock. He stared at Tetsu with a deadpan look. "I thought you said there were no serious cases?"

Tetsu felt like squirming under Harii's gaze but eventually found his voice. "I dont know what your talking about Harii-samma".

"Cut the crap Tetsu, theres a highly corrosive poison flowing through your veins specifically targeting your lungs and you want to tell me that it's not a serious case!?"

Tetsu had a guilty look for a moment but firmed his resolve and responded. " I used to be a samurai general who took orders directly from Mifune-samma. Unfortunately a few months ago I was ambushed by missing nin, while they were defeated I had already been poisoned."

"The medics told me that they couldn't extract the poison without killing me and I ended up discharged from the Land of Irons military."

"I didnt give up hope though, I continued my training and set out to find someone that could safely heal me. Unfortunately my health took a turn for the worse and I was soon captured by those bandits."

Harii stared at Tetsu and sighed. Was this how madam pomfrey felt when he was being reckless and stubborn? "Look I can extract the poison but it's going to hurt...a lot. If I had caught it sooner it would be easier but as it is the poison only needs another few days to run its course and kill you."

Tetsu's eyes shone with fire, determination and hope as he simply said two words in response. "Do it".

Harii nodded at his resolve and had him remove his shirt and sit down. Standing infront of him Harii pointed his wand at Tatsu's chest using a healing spell he found in a really old time ragnok had given him.

"Colligo Vaneno exraho"

A pale white fog of magic left his wand seeping through Tetsues pores and into his body. From there it spread out through his body and gently wrapped up every drop of poison before pulling back out. It was this point that the pain began for Tetsu. It felt like hundreds of thin threads were being dragged through his body and out of his pores.

When all the poison was extracted it formed into a ball and flouted over to Harri who took a small vial from his mokeskin pouch to bottle it for later study. Tetsu stared up at Harri from his spot on the ground with amazement and gratitude shining in his eyes. He felt years younger, the constant pressure he's felt since being poisoned was gone. He could also breathe even easier than before being poisoned.

Getting up Tetsu quickly dropped to a knee and bowed his head. "Kurohoshi, Harii-samma you have saved my life twice now. I can never repay this debt which is why I, Kemono, Tetsu swear on this day that I will serve you in this life and the next. You shall forever have my friendship, my blade and my loyalty. This I swear on mine and my families honor!"

Harii, slightly freaked out, quickly helped the emotional samurai to his feet. "Theres no need to swear loyalty Tetsu your friendship is enough for me, after all we only just met."

Tetsu shook his head with a grin on his face. "Maybe for you it is enough but my honor demands more so if you ever need anything at all I am at your command harii- samma. I may be a bit out of shape but that's nothing some training cant fix."

Harii let out a deep sigh already knowing that there would be no dissuading Tetsu. Looking out over the seemingly endless desert, the clear sky and finally the hundred and fifty former slaves, an idea slowly started forming in his mind.

"Say Tetsu do any of these people have anywhere to go back to? Any family or friends they could stay with?"

Tetsu scratched the back of his head with a thoughtful look on his face. "Not that I know of. As far as I can tell everyone here is from a small town that the bandits raided. All their friends and family were either killed or captured too."

Harii nodded to himself and looked Tetsu in the eyes. "Then I think I have a plan you can help with".
