Chapter 5: Chapter 5
Lin Feng and old man Lin Ming reached reached Sector 4-2 early next morning after a ten hour long journey. The station of Sector 4-2 was humongous compared to the station at Sector 26-14. It had four storeys and a great many platforms at each level. It followed the same red and white color scheme of the previous stations.
Lin Feng and the old man made their way into the heart of the city. There were wide roads and tall buildings everywhere. Cars and buses sped on the roads. It was quite in contrast to their village. He noticed that quite a few people here carried weapons with themselves. He could see some tall and heavily built people carrying giant broadswords on their backs in small groups.
"Where are we going ?"
"First we are going to earn some money."
"To the arena? But I have never fought against others." Lin Feng said sounding worried.
"That won't be a problem." Old man knew how strong Lin Feng was even if he himself did not. "It is same as fighting an animal. Dodge their attacks and wait for your chance." Lin Feng was nervous but excited.
He stopped in front of a large grey building with glass doors,looking up to compare it to the picture he had in mind. "They have really modernized the arena. Earlier you could hear the sounds of fighting from the entrance." He smiled as he led the way towards the reception where two ladies were sitting talking to some customers. The reception area was a large hall with seating arrangement and manager's office, and president's office on the left. On the right there was a dispensary and an entrance showing the way to the arenas.
As they waited, Lin Feng saw a girl about his age walking into the entrance, followed by two men, one of whom carried a long thin sword in his hands. While Lin Feng was tall and lanky, she wouldn't have reached more than his shoulder in height. But her beautiful and slim figure could not hide the power it contained. Dressed in tight fitting exercise clothes, she mesmerized Lin Feng with her beauty. He could not stop staring at her until she disappeared from his sights into the arena corridor.
"Do you have an appointment ?" asked one of the receptionist to the old man.
The old man had been busy looking around the building. He said with a start - "Er..no. I wanted to apply for a fighter position."
The receptionist picked up a form from a pile of papers and said,"You need to fill this form. Also, please give me your hunter card."
"I wasn't talking about myself." Pushing Lin Feng to the front he said, "It's for my grandson."
Taking a look at the dirty clothes of Lin Feng she asked ,"Do you study in the Hunter academy?"
Lin Feng said cheerfully ,"I will start this year."
She handed him the form and showed him to the seating area to fill it. Then she made a call to the president.
"Sir, we have a new recruit under 15. But he has not entered any school yet."
"Doesn't matter. Ask Thomas to test him immediately. Hire him if he is good."
"Okay, sir."
"When is Olivia's appointment ?"
"She is already here. She is currently fighting in Arena 2."
"She is so persistent." The President said with his hand to his forehead. "Send the new boy to Arena 2 and ask Thomas to watch the fight."
