Chapter 8: Chapter Eight
"So, Mr. Kim. Tell me about your family."
"Oof, had to get me started on them. Well, I have an older brother who used to go to school here but he doesn't anymore. I've got my mom who is precious. She needs to be protected from this terrible world. My dad left the picture when I was young, so I never really knew him but recently he's started a new family. He's got twins and when he had them he wanted me and my brother to be a part of their lives even if he wasn't a part of our lives. So I've got them. What about your's?"
"My family is really big, actually. I have two little siblings, a boy and a girl, and an older sister that goes to school in America. There's my mom, my dad, my paternal grandfather and maternal grandmother. Both my parents were only children so I don't have any aunts or uncles. How old are your siblings?"
"Donghyuck is 23, Jaesung and Sohyun are five. How old are your siblings?"
"Jangmi is 23, Jiyeon is 14, and Jaehyun is 11."
"You're parents went with a J theme. What are their names?"
"Soojung and Sungchul. I don't even know why they decided all of our names should start with J."
"So what are you going to school for?"
"Photography and dance. You?"
"Economics. Mom wanted me to do something great with my life. Little does she know I'm also taking Music Appreciation. I'd really rather be a saxophonist over some boring business owner."
"If you were to start a business, what would it be?"
"Probably a music store. Music is definitely a thing I want in my life no matter what."
"That sounds cool. I'm sure you'll be great at whatever you decide to do." Jungkook says with a small smile, pulling Taehyung a little bit closer to him.
"Do you want my jacket?" Taehyung asks, noticing the other was shivering since he eidn't bring a jacket.
"Oh, no. I'm fine."
"I can literally feel you shivering. Here." Taehyung says, sliding the leather jacket off his shoulders and onto the younger's shoulders.
"Thanks, Tae."
"Anytime."
The two walk in silence for a little bit longer before the turn around and make their way back to Jungkook's dorm.
"Hey, Jungkook?"
"Yeah?"
"Is this a date?"
"It can be, if you want it to be."
"Was coffee the other day a date?"
"If you wanted it to be."
"Do you want these to be dates?"
"I wouldn't mind that."
"What if I asked you out on a real official date?"
"I'd probably say yes. Unless you just take me to your dorm room to watch The Notebook and eat ice cream. You've gotta try harder than that. Plus, I don't even like The Notebook."
"So no movie date for a while. How about pizza and an arcade?"
"I would do that."
"Wait wait wait, I have a better idea."
"Let's hear it."
"Brinner."
"What?" Jungkook asks, laughing at the older who was wearing a huge box shaped smile.
"Brinner is breakfast and dinner combined. So we'd hang out doing different things and then at, like, two in the morning we'd go get food. I know the perfect place."
"Okay, and what would we do to keep ourselves awake?"
"We could play video games or just talk. I could even take you to the skating rink and we could hang out there until it closes."
"You're such a dork."
"Well, would you like to go on a date with me, the dork?"
"I would love to. You just tell me a time and a place."
"Do you have weekend classes?"
"Nope."
"Then I'll pick you up at eight on Friday night."
"At my dorm?"
"Yeah."
"How are you gonna know what dorm room is mine?"
"Well I'm walking you home, aren't I?" Taehyung says in a sort of 'duh' tone.
"Oh. I thought we were just going to go back to the fountain."
"Well we could, but it's more romantic if I walk you back."
"Kim Taehyung, how dare you be romantic." Jungkook says, jokingly as he lightly punches the older's chest.
"Oh no, I did not mean to offend you, I just wished to make you happy!" Taehyung cried out, dropping to his knees over dramatically.
"Ugh, get up off the ground, you're gonna stain your jeans."
"I'm on concrete. How could I stain them?" Taehyung asks, standing up and sticking his elbow out for Jungkook again.
"I don't know. Maybe there was gum on the ground."
"I would have felt it if there was gum."
"You never know, Taehyung."
