Chapter 1: Early morning chapter 1 edited
4 AM. I always wake up at 4 AM. At this point, I've already forgotten why I always wake up at this ungodly hour. I live near my workplace, it takes me about approximately 5 minutes to get there by walking; I still don't have a single damn clue on why I keep on waking up at 4 AM
I'm talking to myself again. My psychiatrist told me that I should take my meds so that my flow of thoughts could be contained better. I'm taking a bath right now. Oh hello there, my imaginary friends that I am definitely conversing with right now at this very moment. Stop looking at me while I'm taking a bath. God I really need my medications
It's weird. The meds that should help me control myself don't seem to help me one bit. It's like I'm really talking to someone. And that someone is really listening. I mean, it would be possible for someone to read my thoughts if I allow them. But at the same time, they would also be able control to me if I allow that.
But I digress. After all, I'm just sitting alone in my room, daydreaming and arguing with myself. Maybe I should get a new hobby. Like writing a diary or something.
Well, it's time for work. ugh, it's so boring.
To be fair it's my choice to start this small company of mine, business is booming for me 1,500$ to 20,000$ per day is above average. I should be thankful, but I realized It was my effort that got me to where I'm at in the first place. For my imaginary friends that I'm talking to right now my business is called Rifts of the Connector. It's named after me The Connector, it's a title given to me by the Kings and Emperors. Woah kings and emperors wow you must be living the life, Royalties gave you a title, well it's was either that or do more task so I chose the former rather than the latter. So far it's 8 am no one has entered my shop yet. The bells on the door made noise a customer has arrived, I wonder where he's gonna go. I should stop daydreaming for a while, customers will start appearing soon.
5 Hours past so far 50 customers had appeared it's now lunch time for me, I know what you're probably thinking 1 pm lunch? Well, I'm weird so deal with it. Now, where to eat. Hmm, I've been thinking I want Chicken and Ice cream, so which fast food branch should I go to.
The concept of walking is really annoying, or maybe I'm just really lazy either way I don't really care that much. Reaching McDonald soon. I'm here now time to order. I look at the line and saw there are almost no customers, weird this place is usually full. I remembered it's a holiday; Easter Sunday.
I thought of a way to expand my business. It's called Uber, Nah I'm just kidding. But the concept of it will be implemented. Since the 'accident' people have stopped using cars, even if there were cars it's electric and kinda useless except for showing off. Travelling was made easier due to people like me who uses their 'skills' to help those who don't have it. Well, even those who don't have skills are already fast enough, a casual jog is already at 45 km/hr. Maybe I should put in more effort in my job, but then again I have to actually try to please my customers I'm already too lazy to walk much less advertise my company.
"Sir, what would you like to order?" I heard a voice, it was the cashiers' voice. I should really control my daydreams. Well, time for me to order. "I would like a two piece chicken and one caramel sundae, upgrade my drink to large." "that would be 5$" I handed exactly 5$ then waited at the side. "Sir, here's your order" I grabbed it then walk to a table with the nearest vacant spot. I'm done eating now what hmm, I guess I'll walk back to my shop.
"Excuse me, are you the connector?" I heard an angelic like voice from behind me. Turning around I saw a girl with long black hair, her face I'd give it a rating of 8/10. She was wearing a coat with mixed colors of black and blue, I want that coat.
"Can you hear me, hello?"
crap I'm daydreaming again.
"Yes, I'm the connector how may I be of service?"
"Hello, I would like to meet with a king"
Hearing her say king makes me lost in thoughts. I wonder which king she's gonna visit, better yet I should ask.
"Visiting a king hmm. Which king and what's your business with him"
"It's my brother. I haven't seen him since last year. He doesn't want to be in contact and I had enough managing the family business alone. I might not have a 'skill', but I don't want to be stuck in an office all day long"
Stuck in an office all day long, she and I are the same. I don't want to be stuck doing the same thing over and over again, but the difference between she and I is that I chose my fate she didn't. I pity her slightly.
"Brother hmm. Well, you see a lot of kings has siblings which king is your brother. But before you answer that tell me your name first."
"My name is Diana P. Redrum. My Bro-"
"Poseidon's sister. Well, follow me at my shop. I don't want to use my 'skill' in McDonald's"
"Ok, lead the way Mr. Connector"
The front of my workplace is comical cause there's a cafe before the second floor where I actually work. Before we went to the second floor I ordered Ice caramel macchiato which brought some slight dismay to my guest, she seems to be in a hurry to meet her brother. I hasten my pace a little.
"So before I open the portal, let's talk about the cost and taxes, etc. portal cost for the distance is 20$. now do you have your passport?"
"Here" as she hands me her passport
"Seems good now for the taxes, visiting a king without being summoned a hundred million dolla-"
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN A HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS"
"Oh right that's a new rule that shall be announced tomorrow since people keeps challenging the kings and making them lose their important time"
"I can afford that but that will cost me a lot. Can't you lower the price down? After all, I'm his sister"
"Well… I suppose that's possible. I'll give you a discount 90% off cause the rule shall be announced tomorrow."
"Can't you make it less I only have a million with me and it suppose to be for emergencies only"
"Hmmm fine I guess Poseidon won't be mad if it's his sister that's there so I'll make an exception just this once"
