Chapter 61: Ch.61 Destroying the Realm's Guardian
They stood still, watching the green mist glide across the realm, and did nothing. For what could they do? The only way to destroy the Realm's Guardian was to kill her, but that would also end the realm which the both of them stood upon!
Both understood also that if they succeeded in killing her, one of them had to make a sacrifice to take her place as well; Which both did not want, yet, as fate would have it, they both left their positions in search of her, both disappearing into the hole, giving no heed to the already dead troops.
Swallowed up by the blackness, they push further, deeper into the pit that no light came from; until, a speck of light appeared. Upon closer inspection, it was a light green, or so it appeared as they came closer. But it was not, for it was a mere woman who own skin glowed as her black raven hair curled into a bun stood watching the two of them.
She smiled as she inspected the both of them, and before they knew what had befallen them, they were both sliced apart. Yet, before their own bodies could separate, they rejoined. Her eyes flashed with fury, burning into both of them. Then an array of spells fell upon them, utterly destroying them again. Frowning upon this, she curled her fists.
"One, protected by the higher realm, the second, protected by her!" She screamed, maddened by this curious fate that utterly spelled her doom. Furiously, she then went attacking the both of them, her rage cracking and destroying the very realm she was protecting!
One fighting for her life the others to save what could be salvaged; until it ended with Rathlore holding her as the robed man forced a gold knife into her own heart.
Laughing hysterically as her own life began to disappear, her own blood that was now gushing from her wound crawled up the arm and into the man's own nostrils and mouth.
Falling onto the ground, his own body began to shake uncontrollably as after a few moments, it then faded. Was he now dead? No, he wasn't. The realm was taking his own body, and then reforming his own life force.
Thus, he was now the Realm's ruler.
But the lifeless, cold body of the woman was now alive as she stood before them both. Her state, as awakening from a long sleep, stood still as she focused what was happening around her. Her own eyes widened at the sight of the realm, realizing what had happened, and the state of Rathlore and her own lover's descendant's remains that were slowly fading.
Sighing, she then circled around Rathlore, inspecting him. With a nodd of approval, she then bowed.
Rathlore frowned as he looked toward her, his eyes dancing with curiosity as he inspected her for a moment, and sighed.
"What is happening to him?" He asked as he now glared upon the woman, who smirked.
"A great man who has... power, more than this realm can imagine and yet cannot even force you out? That, I myself have to agree is very interesting. Yet, your own women are being destroyed by this Realm's gasses, wiping them away from the world so that humans can reproduce their own offspring, bringing back what was before they combined two Realm's into one." She said.
"Indeed, with all the power I merely have, be it from those ancient ones, or of my own desire, I cannot change the realm. Or I would be a mere fool in the eyes of all." Rathlore declared as they then both disappeared from the hole.
