Jinxs eyes slowly began to adjust to the darkness of the cell, though only to a certain extent as without some form of light he couldn't make out any crucial details. Even with the minimum lighting however, his eyes were able to adjust enough to see that the figure in front of him was indeed female.
"So your the next in line of becoming queen?" Jinx asked politely as he still felt rather bad about slamming her against the wall. "How old are you exactly?"
"Its not exactly polite to ask a lady her age...for that matter its proper manners to bow before addressing royalty." Violet crossed her arms in front of her rather large chest which was visible even in the dark.
"Are you really in a position to really be complaining?" Jinx asked with a smirk even though he knew she couldn't see him. "You really should try speaking a bit better to your rescuer. I had to ride bareback on a unicorn just to get here so please be a little nicer to your one and only knight in shining armor."
The last part seemed to shock Violet as Jinx could see her take a step back. "Wait wait wait, your here alone? By yourself with no one helping you? Are you stupid? There are nearly a hundred highly trained guards inside of this castle."
Jinx gave a small laugh. "Apparently not that highly trained if they get tricked by a teenager. Didn't you notice that theres no guards near your cell?"
"What exactly did you do?" Violet asked after the realization hit her. "Did you kill them? You don't seem very capable of that."
"Well that definitely wasn't insulting," Jinx responded, his voice dripping with sarcasm. He probably would've kept going except that he heard approaching footsteps from the stairs.
He lowered his voice and approached the open cell door. He closed his eyes and listened, trying to discern the pair of feet that were walking this way. After a few seconds he opened his eyes and smiled. Two people would be simple to deal with in the narrow corridor.
"Hey, the cells open," Guard #1 said. "Isn't that the cell where the princess is? Do you think she escaped." The sound of footsteps drew closer, the sound of shoes against concrete echoing down the dark hall.
"Where is she gonna go?" Guard #2 asked. "She would have to get past us in order to.....what the he...mmmmfff"
Guard #2 didnt even finish his sentence before a fist slammed into his neck, crushing his windpipe. Guard #1 didn't fare any better either as his throat was also crushed, preventing from even voicing a cry for help.
Jinx stood up from his fighting stance as he watched the two guards slowly die on the ground. He nodded before turning back to the cell, his expression serious.
"We should be able to leave now, I kill...I mean knocked out the two guards who were watching the cell." Jinx laughed as his face changed back into a one of innocence. "Lets get you to safety."
Violet stepped out of the cell and into the hallway which had much better illumination. Jinx could see a head full of blonde hair, a huge chest, blue eyes, and a long red dress. To say that Violet was a beauty was putting it lightly and even Jinx was amazed by it. He estimated her age to be around 25-27 as she looked very mature in her dress.
"You sure their unconscious?" Violet asked, nudging them with her foot. "I'd hate to leave and then they sound the alarm soon after."
"Oh trust me, they're not getting up anytime soon," Jinx said with a light laugh as he began walking towards the exit. He tripped over a rock for a second but he quickly recovered. "Lets get you to safety. I have your sister waiting for you just outside the castle with a unicorn."
"What about my 5 other sisters, and my mom and dad?" Violet seemed rather distressed and even looked like she wanted to hit him, but Jinx had already been stunned when she mentioned how many people he still had to get.
"You have 5 other sisters? How come they weren't locked up with you?" Jinx had a headache just thinking about all the royals that had been captured. "Ugh, things never go my way...but its whatever, I'll just do this Agent 47 style."
"Agent 47?" Violet asked curiously. She was confused as to who this person was and how her sister had met him. "Whats that?"
"An assassin from a game I played once," Jinx answered as he tightened his hand into a fist. "I'll just go around and kill every single guard that gets in my way, sneak attacks and stealth are the name of the game."
Violet laughed, clearly thinking he was joking, which was understandable considering the circumstances. "You think you have the potential to kill? Do you know how hard it is to kill someone, how mentally prepared and how mentally strong you have to be to pull it off? Not to mention that there are still around 78 guards here with mental training and guards who have killed before."
"You think I haven't had to kill before?" Jinx asked, his voice becoming serious. "What makes you think that? There are plenty of times that I've had to kill in the name of self-defense. It comes with the bad luck. Always attracting unwanted attention just by being around. If I hadn't had my brothers around as my witnessess, I'd probably be in jail right now."
"If you have time for idle chatter, spend it doing all you can to survive," Jinx said as he began walking down the hall. "Ill eliminate the guards while you escape outside. When I'm done cleaning up, I'll open the door and let you in. Highly trained guards are nothing compared to a teen with nothing to lose."
"Nothing to lose?" Violet asked as she walked behind him, keeping her distance as she could feel some sort of danger coming off the young man in front of her. "What do you mean by that."
"You don't need to worry about it," Jinx said as he opened the door and began walking up the steps. "You just walk out the front door and........well well well, looks like things just got a bit trickier."
Standing in front of them were 10 guards, one of them held a girl who looked to be around 14-15 years old and was dressed in a blue dress that reached mid-thigh. Each of guards looked tall and burly with similar outfits he had seen on the other guards.
The guy holding the girl took a step forward, draggin the girl with him by her bright blonde hair. "You dare trespass on private property? For this transgression you will.....ugggggcccchhhh"
The guard was cut short when a knife flew out of nowhere and lodged itself in his exposed throat. Releasing the woman, the guard tried to yank the knife out but that only caused the blood to spurt out as he fell to the floor.
"Oops," Jinx said as he retracted his hand, a smile on his face. "I guess my hand must've slipped. I'm deeply sorry and I hope there are no hard feelings between the two of us."
"Gurgle gurgle gurgle"
"I knew you'd understand," Jinx said, stifling a small laugh. He turned his attention to the girl who had run over to Violet seconds after being let go. "And who might you be?"
The girl didn't respond to him, but she did look into his eyes which was more then enough for him. He had acutally thrown the knife to free her as he didn't like it when others were unnecessarily cruel. Even though he himself had been cruel, he firmly believed in the saying "an eye for an eye".
Jinx turned his attention back to the remaining 9 guards who had all pulled out their weapons, long gleaming sabers that looked brand new. It was apparent that they all wanted to kill him, but Jinx was ready for that. He had seen many movies that prepared him for the situation.
"Wow, all of you ganging up on one guy to defeat a kid half your age," Jinx laughed softly and held up his hands. "I'm not even armed and you want to fight me?"
The guard in front was quiet for a second before nodding towards another guard. "Give him your sword."
The guard didn't look too thrilled about being told to give up his weapon. "Are you sure about this? What if he's just playing us?"
"Oh, he's definitely playing us, but I need him to see how futile it all is." The lead guard glared at the other guy. "Now give him your weapon!!"
The guard sighed and dropped his weapon onto the floor before kicking it over to Jinx, who picked it up. The guard then retreated to the back of the group of armored men.
"I may not have your sword training, but I can most definitely beat you senseless, even with bad luck." Jinx smiled as he flicked the blade with his thumb and middle finger. "Now, lets see who dies first, you 'highly trained' guards or the jinx with bad luck."
