What Chi Yuan did not know was someone instructed the inmates to beat her up from time to time. One of the inmates was a relative of one of Chi Yuan's victims in the plagiarism case.

They followed Chi Yuan's case and found out which prison Chi Yuan had been sent to. So, they told their relative in prison about Chi Yuan. Not to mention, this relative of them was a leader in the pack. The relative led other inmates to beat Chi Yuan up. 

Nie Zhu Mei was shocked to see Chi Yuan's condition. She looked very pale and thin.  Nie Zhu Mei moved closer to the partition. 

"Yuan-er, what happened to you?" Nie Zhu Mei asked in worried.

Chi Yuan saw Nie Zhu Mei. She could not hold back her tears. She started crying there. 

Nie Zhu Mei panicked. "Yuan-er, tell me, what happened to you?"

Chi Yuan still did not answer the question. She sat there and cried.

"Yuan-er..." Nie Zhu Mei felt horrible when seeing her biological granddaughter cry like this.
