Chapter 1: The Expected Visiter

London, UK. 26th June 2011.

Dave Xu, also known as DX, casually opened the patio door and stepped outside. He raised his hand and a blue butterfly rested on the palm of his hand.

He sighed a little.

"I see. You can go now, buddy. I know what to do," he whispered softly. The moment the butterfly flew away, a strike of lightning appeared followed by the roaring thunder. He calmly stepped back into the house before the fierce droplets caught him.

Dave put the kettle on and prepared tea. He knew a visiter was coming; a very important visiter. He glanced at the clock; it was 15:43.

He strode along the corridor with his long legs and opened the door, revealing his friend Jessica Wang with a teenager behind her back; both soaked from the rain.

He stepped aside to let them in. Once he closed the door behind him, he said "you shouldn't have used martial arts outside. Especially if you're going to use it on a child."

Jessica laid the teenager onto the sofa. Dave took a closer look to see it was a young Chinese girl.

Clearly out of breath, Jessica collapsed onto the wooden floor.

"I cau-caught h-her stealing in a con-convenience store."

"Then you should have taken her to the police station."

Jessica just kept panting until she recovered her breath.

"I was going to talk to her first, but it looks like she doesn't speak English and I can't speak mandarin and also it looks like she's an orphan."

"Does it look like an orphanage here?" He passed her a cup of tea.

"No. I brought her here because I noticed something around her neck." She gulped the tea down.

"Can you please drink tea a bit more elegantly? This is good tea, you know?"

"I'm not as traditional as you. I prefer milk tea. Anyways can you just have a look at that necklace around her neck?"

He stepped closer to the young her and noticed a purple orb and purple jade attached to a silver chain. His eyes dilated slightly as he recognised the pattern engraved on the jade.
