"Why do you assume that I can fight?" I asked in an annoyed tone.
"Ask Raven-san, She is the one that wants you to do the test." Shining Star responded.
Why must she cause me trouble? What have I ever done to her? I am a kind and honest person, this is not what should happen to a kind and honest person. What did I do to make Fujiwara-san angry?
"What May I bring into the fight?" I asked.
"Anything, just don't kill each other, okay?" He said while looking at the armoured man.
"What if I don't want to fight?" I sighed.
"Than you can explain that on your own to Raven-san. Trust me, you'd better just fight him. The worst he can do to you, is the least Raven-san will do. At least you won't die kicking and screaming."
And they thought that I was sadistic, goodness. How does she get away with this?
"I know what you're thinking, and it's obviously because she's-"
"She's what, Huh?" Fujiwara-san said as she entered halfway through Shining Star's sentence.
"..."
"Nothing? Thought so." She spoke in a cold tone.
"Hey, Vincent-kun, fight that guy! Or do you want to spend the rest of the month without a lunch break?"
I immediately shivered at the thought of missing out on lunch. This is one thing that I have always enjoyed, even before I quit being a bounty hunter. Lunch is my sacred time of self reflection and relaxation, no one can take it away from me.
"Hey there Golden Boy, come at me." I smiled.
"You're saying some mad shit for someone in crushing distance!"
Golden Boy ran at me with his huge mace and proceeded to perform a triple mirrored swing, causing 3 other maces to appear and swing at me. I managed to dodge them with some difficulty, but came out unharmed.
"Let's see whether you are fast enough to dodge this!"
Immediately a large ball of gold energy rushed towards me, instantly pummeling me to the end of the room. I manage to get up however. I simply smiled at him, my crimson eyes glowed brightly as 2 swords appeared in my hands.
"Wait, an intern should be able to do that..." Golden Boy said with a bit of doubt in his voice.
"Well I am not your average intern, aren't I?"
I levitated my blades and began to assault his position with an endless flurry of swords. As I continued, my swords felt light, almost as if they had reached their limit.
"Hah! You are nothin without those damn blades."
I dashed towards him with a sword in hand, slashing his armoured forearms, slowly chipping the plating away. And then my swords broke.
"Heheheh... you don't seem to be well equipped, well that's all part of the job, ain't it?"
He immediately Swung his mace at me, barely missing. I looked at home with annoyance, he is the one obstacle between me and my food. So let's see how well my training has gone.
"You are about to witness the hunger of an intern."
6 swords appeared from smoke, all black. All what would make me labeled as sadistic, or edgy. I targeted Golden Boy's arms and legs, instantly disabling him with just 4 of my blades. However, this cost me a great deal of power, but it will restore itself eventually anyway.
"Congratulations, with these results you will probably end up as S rank. This is kinda crazy, but at least you didn't end up as powerful as SS ranks. If that happened, I would have fainted already. Anyway, the rules state that you must receive a folk name from the people or choose your own hunter name. What do you want to try?"
"Shouldn't you being worrying about Golden Boy over there?" I asked in a concerned voice.
"Nah, he's fine, he will self heal in about 10 hours."
"Okay, I'll go with a folk name."
"Good choice, I also chose to go with a folk name when I became hunter." Fujiwara-san spoke.
"You may have S rank power, but you are still far from becoming SS rank." She scolded me.
"Like I care. I signed up to be an intern."
"Well you have been promoted to my hunting partner. You will be provided with free accommodation-"
"I accept."
