Chapter 6: Out Of Danger
" Aunt Linda... Wait.... " Halona interrupted.
" Once the operation is over, we'll know about his condition and then we can leave. "
" Lady Halona... "
Linda knew the stubbornness of Halona. So, Linda swallowed the remaining words as Halona won't listen to anyone, once she decided on something. Linda gave up on convincing Halona with a heavy sigh.
" Jessica start your work. I'll be back in a while. " Linda instructed Jessica before heading to the offices of CEO ( Chief Executive Officer ) and CMO ( Chief Medical Officer ).
Jessica moved to a seclusive corner to make a call. " Hello miss J...", a sturdy voice can be heared from the phone.
" Mr. A... I have a mission for our hacker's team. "
Jessica explained the situation about Halona involving in Edmund's accident to Mr. A. She brief him to investigate about the assassination attempt on Edmund Brown and collect the evidence against who instigated it. She also ordered to delete all the CCTV footages in Paris where Halona sneaked from the Hotel to until she return to their Hotel. So that no one can know about this uncanny situation. She also warns them to keep their mouth shut. Even without her warning they will do the same because of their loyalty towards Halona.
Linda discussed with the CEO and CMO and made them to co-operate with their little plan of replacing Halona and Lilly.
Jessica and Linda returned after completing their tasks. Halona and Lilly were waiting outside the operation theatre with Sarah and Susan.
At this point of time, the operation theatre door opened. A doctor with surgical attire came into their view. Halona rose from her seat to speak with the doctor, but Sarah and Susan stopped her.
" How is he now...doctor?", Linda asked about Edmund's condition.
" The surgery is successful, now he is out of danger. We have to still put him under observation for the next 24 hours.", doctor replied.
" Can we see him.. doctor?", Halona asked uncertainly.
" We are shifting him to the recovery room. After that you can see him one at a time." Halona thanked him with a sweet smile before he left.
" Jessica~ contact his assistant and inform him about the accident. You're the one to replace Lady Halona. I'll be taking Lilly's place. " , Linda instructed Jessica.
" Yes, Miss Linda. I will. "
Jessica called Edmund's assistant, " Hello... ". A muscular voice reached Jessica's ears unhurriedly.
" Hello... am I speaking to Mr. Henry Joe? ", Jessica asked dubiously even though she clearly knew who he is.
" Yes... and you are? ", Henry Joe is puzzled by the unknown caller at late night.
" My name is... Jessica Li. Sorry to disturb you Mr. Henry, but your boss Edmund Brown met with an accident. He is now admitted in the hospital. " she make sure that her voice contain right amount of regret.
" W-What....are y-you joking? ", Henry's heart skipped a beat listening to the news. He can't believe his ears... what accident? how is it possible? It's impossible...right!!
" No... I'm not. I'll send the hospital name and address. Please, come fast. I'll tell the remaining details once you are here. ", Jessica's anxious tone interrupted Henry's thought process.
" Okay... I'll be there in a jiffy. ", Henry hung up the phone and hurriedly made his way to the hospital.
On his way, he tried to call his boss but it is not connecting. This is the first time he can't get through the call. His boss always keeps his phone with him like it is also a part of his body. Henry can't think straight anymore. Still, by taking deep breathes he is trying to calm down. It's not time to panic.
Henry wants to inform Emily Brown about her brother's situation, but he stopped himself. What if it's just a misunderstanding? I can't act rash. After some contemplation, he decided to confirm the news first and then act accordingly. Henry step on the accelerator to drive fast....
