Hi all, Al Bee here! I wanted to write this after seeing other novels doing the same. I wanted to talk to you on a personal level, not just as the writer. Shadow Walkers is going to SLOW PACED. (Just wanted to let you know cos sometimes it's a deal breaker, sorry) I am a first time writer, Shadow Walkers is basically my debut. So there are a lot of things that I hope to learn and tools I can use to further my novel and grow not just as writer, but a person. As of writing this my schedule for chapter release is every Wednesday and Sunday at 11:00 AM EST. I have no plans of dropping this. I am really hooked to writing right now. I sincerely say to you, two chapters are guaranteed per week minimum. Right now I'm doing everyday because I have the free time to do so. Plus I am having a ton of fun writing this story! Since this is my first novel, I want to write. But try to write correctly. Not so much as in a grammar sense but a vision sense. I have an end goal already mapped out for this story and I want to get there without hurting my readers' opinion of it. I'm writing this for me, sure. But also you. I want to grow with you together. Corny I know but that's really my goal here! I probably lack a lot of writing skills and proper story knowledge to tell one. But darn it I gotta start somewhere. All I ask is if you don't like my story because of my writing, please, please, please, let me know! I know this story wont be for everyone, but I feel like the best way to learn is to make mistakes, and having people call you out on it so I know I made one! I'll accept any bashing necessary if it means I can better myself. Now to talk a little bit about my story, so general SPOILER ALERT! if you don't want to know what's in my head about certain things in the story. If you want to skip the spoilers look for this --------END-------- I have envisioned Shadow Walkers to be a culmination of many, many ideas swirling in my head. I take inspiration from so many things! Seven is an idea I have had for a long time, I always knew I wanted my MC to start as a slave. Just the idea of going through so much hardship and to prevail a winner and become something from nothing is a story told many times through history. But something I generally felt strong about. I knew I wanted the world of Aether to be magical. I just didn't know how magical. How much of the world do I want run by magic, are wars fought with magic, that type of thing. So I'm starting subtle, small uses of magic that can have extraordinary uses (like what Lieutenant Dormen used to link his eyes the the registration network.) And that's all I'm comfortable giving away at the moment :P ---------------------------------END-------------------------------- I want to thank you. From the bottom of my heart. If you have read this far I applaud you, for reading me babble on and be all corny. But I want to get a little personal with you right now. My pen name may be Al Bee, but my real name is Zach. So here I am, wanting to tell you what this story means to me. My dad passed away last August, and I always told him I was gonna write a book, but never did. Then, life got in the way, I always pushed writing away because I felt like a failure. I didn't deserve to write because I couldn't even write a story I promised my Dad I was writing but never did. Now here I am almost a year later, finally doing what I told him I was. And thus, Shadow Walkers was born. I just hope that my story reaches him. It's a hope that gives me the drive to write. This novel is dedicated to you dad, I'm sorry it's so late. I love you, and I miss you everyday. Thank you everyone, here's to hoping we can grow together. Signing off -Al bee P.S. So far this story is amazing. The setting was something that i could grasp and get into almost immediately. I am excited to see where this story goes, and i am excited to read what happens next!
