Chapter 7: chapter 7 - dear diary
here are some party foods that i have thought up::
1. fried bihun noodles
this is easy enough, boil a big pot of hot water, insert wafers of dry bihun into it.... wait and lower the fire if the water bubbles over the pot. when the bihuns are softened and al dente, strain it from the water with a large seive and leave to cool. meanwhile, chop any vegetables or meat into small eatable bite sizes..... after that, heat the wok with oil and saute the meat first, then the vegetables. after that add the bihun and whatever sauce of your choice,.... for thai bihun, get thai sauce which they sell at the supermarket. for chinese style bihun, use soya sauce, chilli sauce and ketchup.... add a little salt to taste and you're done.
2. drinks - get bottles of coca-cola and fill up your water dispenser.... keep some ice in a cooler to add to it after an hour.
3. ice cream - who doesn't like ice cream after a meal???? buy 20 sticks from 7eleven and display with ice cubes in another cooler
4. cake or cupcakes - to bake a cake, you need to google for a nice cake recipe that sounds good to you... alternatively, you can improvise and adjust the cake ingredients to your liking,.... the main thing is that you want the cake to come out perfectly with no bad vibes.... "only good vibes!" that's my motto!!
i recently had some coffee cheesecake from a nearby cafe which was so yummy.... but not everyone likes cheesecake,... although everyone should celebrate with cake on my birthday lol.... so usually we wouldn't get cheesecake for my birthday as i would feel sad if someone was left out!! how to solve this???? bake a batch of vanilla cupcakes!! problem solved. you can have your cake and eat it too!!!
5. as for fried chicken, we all know how to fry foods, just heat up a vat of oil and put in the chicken.... but for yummier tasting chicken parts, leave the skin on and create a batter from special fried chicken flour bought from the supermarket, dip then fry. that's it!
6.oh yes as for thank you for coming goodie bags,.... i have a few ideas::
- wrap your favourite sweets in cheap but ooh so cute goodie bags from the dollar store! include a personalized message for each guest!
- if you like helium balloons, you can buy them for decoration and then give them away to guests who are leaving....
- what else can you put in your goodie bag?? something that reminds them of the fun they had that day.... a polaroid pic maybe
- other ideas include stickers and stationary.... just something cheap, not costing too much would be perfect,.... raid your local dollar store for more ideas.
