Chapter 1: Send back
Pain coursed through her body as she felt something entering her. The touch of a strong and overbearing atmosphere directly overwhelmed her.
"Look at me" he hollered.
Aelin opened her eyes and stared straight into the dark blue eyes of Darius. She found herself suspended in a space beyond time, flooded by a strange sensation of familiarity, nervousness and a "something" she couldn't quite name - a fear, a longing, an impulse to run. There was darkness at the sides of his vision, drawing in, trying to swallow her whole.
Her mind became muddled and she shuddered instinctively. His actions were extremely rough as if he was trying to ravage, possess, break and make her into something that belongs to his and his alone.
"You are mine. Now and Always" his deep and hoarse voice whispered in her ear as if validating her thoughts. Hearing the same words as in her previous life and watching the complicated emotions clouding his bloodthirsty expression, she once again found herself reliving the same emotions of that day when she lost her virginity to this same man before her.
Aelin laid on the bed weakly, feeling pain in every part of her body. Her nasal tip was filled with the aggressive, masculine scent. Before she lost consciousness, she heard Darius giving an order to send her back to the island.

"I didn't die?" She slowly glanced at the furnishings around her, and also at her own reflection in the vanity mirror opposite. I saw a pale, underweigth woman reflected in the mirror. Her smooth black hair rippled like the ocean waves, and her lips had been gnawed at till there was only a faint colour left. She looked quite skinny, but at the same time, her ash grey eyes gave off a sharp, ruthless aura. She looked almost venomous.
She felt that the current her looked off as if she has gone back in time. What was going on? Didn't she die? Killed by that sadistic man? The image of that expression was still fresh in her mind, he looked like a child bored of playing his favorite toy. She thought she was in hell with Darius but only when Darius died, she came to know what true hell was.
Darius, he kidnapped her and destroyed her dreams but he also gave up his life protecting her. She saw the blood colored sheets and remembered the pain she felt throughout her body. Did she really go back in time? If she really did then she must protect Darius this time. Even if she can't love him, she must find a way to live with him peacefully. She was determined to survive and change her future.
