Chapter 9: The Flight
A few minutes before Seth had reached the dragons back and was about to fall off. As the dragon was doing its maneuvers it was keeping a close eye on Seth and realized he was about to fall off and thought "Hmph this boy overestimated himself, this just goes to show that he has no place in being a reaper. I really don't understand my master this time. At first he says that hes special and to protect him as i take him to the camp and a couple minutes later he gives me a message saying i could do what i want and not to care even if i let him die. I swear after this boy dies i'm going to give a peace of my mind to my master, you can't treat . . . hmm?" It was at this time that the dragon saw Seth was falling off and gave a smile but that smile was completely wiped off the next second when it saw the black gas that was coming off the him.
As the gas got more dense it began to shroud Seth's body outlying his shape. As he reached out his main body couldn't reach however the the black gas did. The shroud became elastic stretching farther then what Seth's hand could reach then latched itself onto the dragons body." I see so his soul has a affinity to darkness it looks to he pretty high to. oh well not that it matters he will be dead soon enough. His body won't be able to handle the element especially how much he is using it for someone who was just made."
As the dragon was gloating in its victory that would soon come it didn't notice the black gas began to take on a solid form into that of a claw. At first it took the shape of a hand and started digging into the dragons scale but wasn't getting a solid grip so it started to make the fingers sharper and sharper almost like a blade being sharpened, until finally it got sharp enough to be able to dig into the dragons scale making it bleed. Sensing pain the dragon was confused "what the . . . pain, i'm actually feeling a little pain how is that possible" the dragon quickly looked towards the place the pain was coming from and realized who was responsible."how is this possible he shouldn't be able to condense his element like that, especially not enough to puncture my scales." As the dragon was bewildered it shock grew more by the second as Seth started to climb up closer and closer to its back.
At this point the dragon shook off it initial shock and thought "You may have impressive infinity to darkness but that doesn't give you the right to get on my back" After this thought the dragon roared in extreme anger and started doubling its effort however it was all for not since Seth was still able to get onto it back
Back to the present
"So now that I'm on here should we be on our way" Seth said with pride while looking at the depressed face of the dragon. The dragon grunted a gave a depressed sigh looking much less majestic then when it first arrived and started to fly into another direction. A part of Seth felt bad but just a little. During the flight the dragon didn't speak again it just continued flying and there was nothing but sound of the wind passing Seth by of course nowhere as hard as before. As more time passed on Seth started to get bored, like really bored. Seth sighed "(flying on a dragon is cool and all but the depressed mode that's coming from it is really killing the mood.) Not being able to withstand the mood Seth started asking it questions, of course there was no response like he expected but he was hoping it would get on its nerve so it would give him some sort of reaction anything better then what was currently happening. After another couple of minutes of nothing happening he gave up and sat in silence.
As more time pass, probably ten seconds, Seth gave up his silence and ask "Why were you so protective of me not getting on your back. At first i thought it was because of pride but now it seems like it was much more than that." The dragon grunted but didn't respond. In that moment Seth was about just just give up and accept the silence when the dragon said "Your not wrong when you thought its was a part of my pride but that was only a quarter of it. The rest revolves around my master" Seth questioned "Your master the one who raised you or whatever" It roared back "My master is the reason for my existence without my master i wouldn't be who i am, my master is everything to me."
"So that's why it means so much to you." Everything started clicking into place once he heard those words, the clues that surrounded some of the things about the dragon had started clicking into place. During this whole fiasco since meeting the dragon Seth have been trying to get any info he could get. Now don't get him wrong he was also fighting for his life make no mistake on that, but at the same time he was gathering as much info he could about who sent this dragon. As they were flying he noticed no one seem to interrupt them while they were doing their little "game" so to speak, at least it was a game to Seth, with his life at stake. Anyway he'd hate to think there is no kind of law in this place but seeing the people when he first arrived and remembering where he was he no longer any worries about that.
With that thought of law enforcement out of way there were two reason he could think off to why no one bothered them. One their fiasco couldn't be counted as a disturbance or dangerous or two the enforcement know about this dragon or more importantly who the dragon belong to. Seth highly doubt the fist one was the case but who knows he just got here so that only leaves him with the second choice. Whoever the owner or master this dragon belong to must be someone very high up in the food chain or someone no one wants to mess with. Either way they are important and they know about him, most likely from Freya. Seth mumbled to himself "however why would . . ."
As he continued his thoughts trying to connect more dots the dragon interrupted his thoughts "why so silent, not that I am complaining but its weird especially with the different expressions your making" Seth responded "I was just thinking you really care a lot about your master, and if i had to guess hes probably the only one that ever been on you back right" It responded "Hmph so you can use you head when you want. Feeling proud taking that away from me" Seth Shrugged his shoulders "I won't lie I do feel a little pride but . . . " The dragon interrupted with anger " you no good . . ." Seth interrupted before it could finish "Buuut I feel more guilt then pride for taking away something that you considered precious. I also know that I was just lucky in many regards especially regarding you"
Seth paused and looked at the dragon and it had a surprised look on it face and said " You know about my strength" Seth responded "Of course i know i mean its not hard to figure out when you let some of your true strength out while in rage especially since your a dragon and if their anything to go buy story's or myths is that Dragon are creature with amazing abilities. If you were able to use your true strength frankly i probably have been torn to shred by the winds or squished by the pressure you can release even if you were originally told not to kill me." The dragon responded " that still gives you no right . . ." before it finished Seth interrupted again and said "I never said it did but what can you do, I'm already up here so you just got to accept it along with my apology"
"I could just kill you right now" the dragon said with a grunt. Seth responded "You could and i can't stop you but something tells me you won't or in better words can't so that leaves me with one other choice, making it up to you. So how would I go about doing that." It responds with "Hmph theirs nothing you can do to get me to accept your apology only my master can get me to accept it against my will"
"Really so that just means i got to get to the same tier as your master and find them" The dragon gave out a huge laugh like it just heard the funniest thing in its life. It then said "Yea right, like you could ever get to the same tier as my master, let alone that even meeting him will be impossible for you." After Seth heard that a big grin crossed his face and said "We'll see, i really like going against what people think is impossible, which you experience first hand" After hearing my response the dragon stopped laughing and gave me a glare.
