Chapter 13: A Unexpectedly Irritating Battle
The Going Merry, somewhere close to Coconomi Village.
Usopp was standing on top of the mast doing his meditation exercise, while the job of rowing the ship was left to Johnny, Yosaku and Sanji. He had been trying to create a training technique for increasing the defense and endurance of one's body slowly. It was opposed to the [iron body] technique of the rokushiki, which was an active type skill.
'I have already created a simple level for it, but increasing the density of the muscles and creating more pink muscle mass had me stumped for a while. Now it has reached a point where it can make a qualitative difference. Direct full power hits by the swords of cannon fodders won't affect my body. A month of training would make the crew's body strong enough as a Rear Admiral level user of [tekkai]. If I taught it to the fighter types in the crew, they would be near invulnerable and unstoppable when facing large mobs early on! Let's name it [steel scales]!'
Usopp imagined a Diable Jambe attack from Sanji whose body would be strong as a fort and a Zoro with even more tenacity and pure unrestrained strength. Somehow entire armies of trained soldiers felt cute to Usopp because of the image of the two demon lords he may create. He then jumped down from the mast and called everyone.
" Guys, since we will be running straight into a fight, I will show you a technique that will help you long term. It will help you control and develop your muscles better. I will also teach you a supporting technique after out fight with Arlong."
Usopp added another technique for them to learn alongside [steel scales] which was the [seimeikikan] technique. It would improve their battle capabilities further than relying on pure instinct regarding to life force. The rest looked confused on what could help them increase their battle capability in a short time but was surprised at the technique and its uses. It could also be trained while during a battle to increase results and thus it fit the situation. A few hours of training would increase their strength and endurance and it had a multiplied effect due to the training suits. Sanji was also provided one, which made him focus his control on agility and concentrated kicking power.
"So this technique helps control the muscles of wounded areas too huh..."
"Yes it does, but I won't recommend it...Oi Zoro! Why are you training?! Take some rest idiot!"
" But I feel okay because of this technique. I can just focus on the wounded area during the fight and the wound won't open too much...probably."
"That is not the problem! And you said you are going to fight?! Haaah... I am feeling tired already."

Gosa Village, Arlong's territory.
The entire crew was looking at the deserted village of Gosa, where all the buildings were upturned by something. Usopp looked at the tracks on the ground and turned to the crew minus Sanji, who was busy punching and kicking one Fishman that was patrolling the area.
"This track was made by that hippocampus sea beast that you and Sanji beat up. Let's look around and then head towards Nami's place. Then we can destroy Arlong Park or whatever it is he has built."
Usopp then looked at a particular building where he could feel two presences- a woman and a child. He then used [silent steps] to appear in front of the two.
"Yo!"
"Ahhhhh!!! A fishman!"
"I not, you idiots!"

Well, long story short, it was a little kid who wanted to take revenge against the Fishmen and the other was Nami's sister Nojiko. She saw Nami along with us and thought that it was some kind of scheme by Nami, but we explained to her that we knew about the actual situation. We then made our way towards Nami's house to plan our attack, and Nami had to punch Luffy and Sanji to bring them with us.
"So Nojiko... what do you know about Arlong's forces?"
"You should ask Nami that since she was a member of that crew. But there has been a lot of humans entering and leaving Arlong's territory nowadays."
"I have an idea of what's going on now. Arlong might have captured the stragglers of Kreig's fleet along with other pirates that had been fighting against them and made them their slaves. The number of people I feel is way too much but all of us put together can take them out without much problems."
Usopp had not thought about there being changes in the timeline, but Mihawk might have just left them alone for some reason. But the situation did not trouble Luffy and he was releasing ridiculous amounts of fighting spirit while Zoro's blood lust was chilling to say the least. Sanji would probably use a buster call on Arlong Park if it was possible for him to do so.
"There is not much to discuss. Just take out all the enemies and destroy Arlong park then."
Luffy started to walk out through the door and everyone followed. They stopped when they saw a Marine officer and his subordinates walking towards them.
"Is this Nami's house? We are going to search the place and I will be taking the 80 million that she had hidden."
"Huh?!"
"[gomu gomu no gatling!]" "[Santouryuu: OniGiri]!" "[Party Table Cook Course!]" "[Sure Kill: scattershot]!"
The idiot Marine received a full serving of the crew's attack unit's named techniques as they were already in war mode. They only saw the rest of the Marines carrying of the officer while the Officer was saying some dialogues that third rate villains would say. The Straw Hats ignored it and moved towards Arlong Park.
(PS: Usopp took two swords from the Kreig pirates as a replacement for Zoro's broken swords.)

Arlong Park was completely different from what Usopp had seen in his previous life. There were way too many people around, and they had even more fortifications. It was a fortress through and through.
"Luffy, this is going to be tough fight so everyone should remove their training suits. Johnny and Yosaku only need to cover us."
Usopp looked at the crew who were still in the training mode. Even Zoro had been wearing it thanks to the [steel scales] technique reducing the burden on his wound, though a normal person would already be dead even with additional control skills. As Luffy and co removed their suits, they felt a comprehensive difference in their strength and even Sanji felt he was strong enough to defeat the Kreig Pirates by himself. Zoro felt sharper and more unrestrained than normal and he felt like he could understand the meaning of the sword better. Luffy on the other hand...
"[gomu gomu no yari]!"
He went on to straight up destroy the fortress doors but he also destroyed a large part of the walls and buildings at Arlong Park, including the newly built fortifications and a lot of pirates.
"Who dares to attack my fortress?! All of you, go capture those idiots so that I can give them a painful end!"
An angry voice came from the fortress and along with it came a few hundred human pirates who had slave collars on their neck. They only saw six people in front but even then came full force to capture the enemy. Needless to say, the battle maniacs of the Straw Hat crew were really happy. The opposing pirates saw the man with the three swords move towards them.
"[Tatstumaki]!"
One attack sent a few dozen people fly in the air and stopped the momentum of the enslaved pirates. Sanji followed him and dropped straight into the crowd, landing on his hands and moved his legs so fast that it seemed like he was going to lift off. It was raining pirates and standing ahead of the defenders were two demons that took down a tenth of them in one attack.
"[gomu gomu no gatling]!"
While the pirates were seething at the terror of the two attacks, they were faced with a lot of hands coming at them. The entire group standing at the front were sent flying up into the air and into the fort. The Fishmen who saw the rain of pirates understood that the situation was serious and started moving towards the gates.
" It looks like there are a lot of them this time. All of you slaves go together. You have grown stronger because of the torture that we did so at least tire the enemies out a bit."
Kurobi was in command of the slaves and he had treated the slaves badly enough that their strength had increased to the levels of a Grand line level cannon fodder. It was not enough to stop the Straw Hats but the numbers were a different matter altogether. Kurobi was standing in front of a thousand slaves and commanded them to attack the enemy using human wave tactics.
"These idiots are perfect for the crew to increase their combination strategies against large number of mobs alongside their training of [steel scales]. Let's see how the crew is holding up... The hell is Zoro doing with his training suit on again! Even Sanji is trying to compete with him on that?!"
Usopp was happy for the miscalculation of the strength of the enemies, which would help in raising the strength of the crew but his soul almost left his body when he saw that Zoro and Sanji were back in their training suits while beating the enemies left and right.
'These idiots need to learn some restraint on training or I'll be left behind in an instance. Damn am I getting jealous of their one track minds!'
Usopp thought while reconnecting his sense confuser mechanism which he uses to sharpen his senses. If a normal person wore that stuff, it would be similar to being extremely drunk while having a hangover all over again. He then disappeared into the distance while random pirates began to fall down because of an attack out of nowhere.
Luffy was mowing down tons of enemies with his crowd control techniques like [whip] and [Gatling] while jumping into the crowd. All the enemies in his blind spots fell like dominoes because Usopp never misses...and he provides the perfect support. Also because Zoro might eat him if he interfered with his fight and Sanji's fight was a necessity for him as he lacked quite a bit when compared to Zoro.
Sanji was literally tenderizing meat all over the battlefield and although Usopp's French dictionary could not cover the pure variety of names included, he was sure that Sanji was going full hunter mode because he was channeling all the anger he felt after hearing Nami's plight into each and every kick. Feeling sorry for the enemy was an emotion Usopp thought he would never have on this particular fight, but Sanji even with the training suit on made him do that.
Zoro on the other hand was a different story altogether. The man was channeling his inner beast into his techniques, and a wounded beast of a Zoro was not an enemy one should fight since he specialized in increasing his fighting capabilities near death. Even Usopp's weakened senses could feel that Zoro was really close to understanding the breath of all things and could also see that his wound was hurting far too much for him to be even conscious much less fight an army of grandline class pirates. He was cutting down people with no care for that ridiculous amount of pain or the lives of the pirates.
All three were looking quite tired when they were almost finished with the pirates as they were also using [steel scales] the whole time. Usopp was in the best shape while Zoro looked like he would drop into a coma anytime. That was when the rest of the enemies came out, which was pretty much everything they had remaining, including the Fishman Pirates themselves.
"Just a few humans and even then you bunch can't take care of it. After I finish these idiots off you slaves are next."
"I'll just shoot these guys down- chew."
"I will fight the swordsman over there then."
The three executives looked at the battlefield which was strewn with the bodies of heavily injured pirates and three heavily panting injured guys throwing off extreme bloodlust from their bodies. They were overconfident in their ability that they could take on all enemies because of their racial superiority and had sort of forgotten that they had their arses handed to them by Kizaru.
"[Sure kill: flaming star]!" *Bam*
The three who were showing of overconfidence had their numbers reduced by one when Usopp's shot took out Chew, who specialized as a gunner in their crew. Usopp then walked out and stood behind Luffy, while Zoro was standing on the right and Sanji to the left of Luffy. Their formation made it clear to the Fishmen that the boy with the straw hat was their leader.
"You guys dare to injure Chew! No more mercy for you guys!"
Kurobi jumped towards them and the octupus faced Hatchan followed but were thrown back due to the powerful attacks that intercepted them. Zoro looked at the octopus holding six swords and smirked, while Sanji was looking at Kurobi like he was going to fillet him up.
"Oi Luffy, Usopp...we will deal with these two idiots. You clean up the rest of the mobs and finish off Arlong."
Zoro was exhilarated when he saw that he was facing a swordsman, and one who was using multiple swords on top of that.
"You there, octopus swordsman... today, I'll cut through your swords!"
Zoro loosened up the training suit, tied the bandana on his head, relaxed his muscles and focused again on his sword and his opponent. His wound had gotten even worse due that focusing action but Zoro was someone who would go face the king of hell itself to strengthen his skills.
Sanji was straight up burning on the inside but he gave off an intense chill when he took of his suit. Kurobi dismissed it as some weird hallucination and took his stance. At the same time, Usopp cleaned up the rest of the pirates and Luffy headed into Arlong Park for the final fight.

Zoro was raining [OniGiri] and [Toragari] combos between his relentless attack at the Fishman, who distinctly felt that Zoro was not trying to attack him but rather his swords. He had understood in a few attacks that the man holding the three swords was stronger than him by a long shot even when injured.
Zoro was basically throwing his full strength through his sword until Hatchi went flying again. He then tried to recall what other swordsmen had said to him.
'There are swordsmen out there who has the ability to cut nothing and also cut everything. When you learn to cut nothing, you would have the ability to cut steel.'
'I am not an animal who uses their full strength to hunt rabbits.'
Both Kojiro's and Mihawk's words rung inside Zoro's mind. He took Wadou Ichimonji in his hands and pointed it at the leaf that was falling down. The leaf was not cut even though it touched the sharp side. Zoro then put the sword back in the sheath and took an iai stance and looked at Hatchi, who was running at him poised to attack.
"[Ittouryuu: Shishi SonSon]!"
*sound of sword being sheathed*
Zoro was standing behind Hatchi, who had a long wound on his chest with all his swords cut through smoothly, unlike before when Zoro used to shatter swords using his strength alone.
'Now I have gained the ability to cut through steel! It is a little bit of an increase, but I know I am slowly approaching that man!'
Zoro's eyes betrayed the exitement in his heart. He looked towards Sanji, who ended his one sided slaughter of the self proclaimed master of Fishman Karate.
"[Muton Shot]!"
Kurobi, who had been rained with a barrage of Sanji's named techniques went flying into the fortress, destroying what was left of the fortifications there.

Usopp looked at Luffy, who was throwing around Arlong like a toy, in wonder. In the original, Luffy had fought that idiot until he had serious injuries, but the reality of the matters were different. Luffy went in guns blazing and [pistol]ed Arlong in the face, which broke his teeth and bent his nose. Then Luffy and Arlong's heated conversation about Nami and her behavior towards people went awry when Arlong said how 'useful' she was- implying that she was like a tool to him. Luffy straight up [Bazooka]ed Arlong into the air and followed it up with a [gomu gomu no kane] to Arlong's head and finished it up with a [gomu gomu no Ono] which hit Arlong and followed to punch through the entirety of Arlong Park, effectively demolishing it and rendering Arlong near death and in a coma.
"You asked for it, you dumb fish."
Usopp said to Arlong, who's consciousness slipped away right after. He also noticed a flying fish crashing into the building a second ago so he looked towards the entrance, or what was left of it and saw the two walk in along with Johnny, Yosaku and the rest of the villagers. They then parted to give way for Nami and Nojiko who was following her. Nami looked at the fallen Arlong and then looked at Luffy, who was bleeding from his arms and started to cry.
"Nami! You are our Navigator!"
Luffy yelled at her, to which she replied by crying even more whilst nodding her head continuously.
"But I don't understand why the Marines did not take any action against such a large buildup of Pirates?"
"I think they did."
Sanji's question was answered by Usopp, who was staring at the four Battleships lining the coast.
"Oh shit! Here we go again."
Sanji said as he saw Luffy flying towards the Marine ship which had the idiotic Officer they almost killed. Usopp followed just after boosting Zoro into the ship which Luffy was headed to while Sanji stayed back to keep an eye on the prisoners.

The Marines had received a report about the large buildup of strength by Arlong's crew and thus sent a ship containing a Commodore from headquarters along with three other ships from an attachment of the East Blue division of the Marines. When they arrived at the location, they saw the entire place being demolished by an attack. They waited for a while and then started to move in when they saw something flying towards the ship of Officer Nezumi. The 'thing' started to go on a rampage, nearly capsizing the entire ship, until the next projectile came in, which started to cut the ship apart. The Commodore spotted a boy with a straw hat and a swordsman with three swords mow down the marines.
The Commodore wanted to open fire against the enemies when he saw another ship being attacked by the swordsman who looked like he was thrown aboard it. The ship's deck was quickly cleared by that person, who also cut all the cannons on board. That person jumped into the sea again to follow the boy in the straw hat to wreck havoc on the last ship from the East Blue division.
The commodore now had a clear target for attacking, and gave a command to open fire on the third ship, but no response was heard.
"What are you guys doing?! Shoot!"
The commodore turned around and yelled, only to see a long nosed masked man sitting on a pile of Marines, including the officer ranked marines from headquarters.(Original Sogeking mask.)
"You are type that follows absolute justice, huh? Our captain hates your kind."
"You! Your captain? Name yourself! Which pirate crew are you from?!"
Usopp did not reply and kept staring at the Commodore until Luffy crashed into the deck along with Zoro.
"You prick- My death will be because of you!"
*Bam*
Zoro punched Luffy in the face right after that. Then Luffy looked at the Marine who was staring back at him for a while.
"Who are you?" He asked.
"Me? I am Luffy. The man who is going to be the Pirate King!"
"Pirate King?! So you are the captain huh. What about you two? I presume the swordsman is the Pirate Hunter Zoro."
"I've been called that sometimes." Zoro replied while smirking.
"People call me The King of Snipers, Sogeking!" Usopp declared grandly. Zoro facepalmed at his crew mate's actions while Luffy looked like he was going to light up the sky as another sun.
"Alright. I'll remember your names before I capture you. [Soru]!"
*Bam*
The officer who disappeared was punched in the face by Luffy. Usopp then went and sat on him.
" There are a little more than thousand pirates over there. Put them all in what's left of your ships and get lost."
Usopp threatened the man with a burst of his battle spirit. He nodded like a malfunctioning robot and went on to capture the pirates.
...
After the pirates were captured and the Marines threatened with death for caring for the villagers, the crew and the entire islands under Arlong's rule continued to party for three hard days. Usopp's adventure stories were a great hit, especially that of the world of food hunters and the description of their food.
Zoro was made to go through excruciatingly painful surgeries while Sanji looked like he would die from lady overdose. Luffy ate more than half of everything while Nami had her tattoo changed to that of a cobination of a pinwheel and a mikan.
"By the way, Usopp... You did say that you saw my tattoo on the ship, right? There was only one situation where I removed it. He he."
Usopp's soul wanted to fly away and hide in the cloak of Hades when he saw Nami laugh. Later on, people saw a badly bruised and tattered Usopp walking through the town mumbling something about women being scarier than the Gatekeeper of Hell.
