Chapter 68: The Final Battle II
In a large stadium that was over five hundred meters in diameter, many students and teachers from various different universities were seen sitting within the stands, observing a battle that was taking place down below.
On the stage, within that stadium, ten young students of the same age were seen standing on two sides. On one side of the stage, a large block of golden-blue ice was seen, erected like a mountain, unshakeable and unmoving.
Nearby, a large golden tiger with black stripes and large pitch-black wings was also seen. From its position, one could easily tell that the huge block of ice was formed from its powers.
A few meters away, a large ape that was fiery red, with molten-like armor was suffering from a large dose of poison. Its entire body was slowly changing color, becoming dark purple.
The winged tiger waited without moving an inch. It had already done its job, taking care of the enemy in a swift motion. The large ape, as well as the one frozen in ice shortly turned into wisps of light and returned to their owner.
Now, only three members of the opposing side remained. Dozens of meters away, a humanoid figure, with strange runes along its pitch-black armor-like suit was seen pointing its guns in two directions.
Smoke was seen rising from the barrels of its handguns, while dark smog flowed in the air in the direction the handguns pointed at. It was obvious that many bullets were fired, from the amount of smoke.
After a few moments, two wisps of light flew out from the smoke and returned to the humans on one side of the stage. The humanoid figure had eliminated its targets and quickly turned to face the last remaining member of the other side.
It was a young woman, she had long white hair and distinguished beauty. Her gaze remained neither cold nor hot, completely neutral. She had not even batted an eyelid when her team members had lost, as if everything was already predetermined.
The golden tiger roared, before turning into a golden wisp of light and returned to its master.
Beside the tiger's master, a handsome young man spoke; "Not going to have a try?"
Next to him, the tiger's master who was also a handsome young man replied; "You kidding? Today's your day, I'll stay out of it."
"Alright. We'll leave it to Yang Chen. After some time, it will be my turn." the other young man nodded.
The two young men were obviously Ye Qin and Wang Tao. With only the captain of the other team left, the two spoke briefly. On their side, there were still two members left, after Wang Tao had withdrawn from the battle.
Now, it was Yang Chen's turn to fight his battle. His next battle, would most likely be the toughest battle so far in his entire life. So far, from what the two brothers had seen, their new dorm mate had yet to reveal his true strength.
What he had shown was just the tip of an iceberg, it was nothing compared to his true battle prowess. It was only now, when a strong opponent showed up, did he finally choose to use all of his capabilities.
Ye Qin's Qiulong flew high into the sky, allowing for more space for Yang Chen's battle to take place. After all, the dragon was over twenty meters long, which covered almost an eighth of the entire stage by itself.
Yang Chen's partner, the Super Soldier stood on the stage with its dual guns in each hand. Its black suit suddenly started emitting golden light that was flowing like liquid within the strange runes on its suit.
Its mask also started shining with the golden light, while its helmet started transforming. Within seconds, its helmet looked entirely different. The guns in its hands also possessed the golden liquid-like light. Its entire body was now powered up, as well as its handguns.
Now, Yang Chen himself looked battle crazed. His hair was changed again, while his eyes showed a deep thirst for battle, from even Ye Qin and Wang Tao's perspective.
On the other side, 'she' took a few steps forward. A black magic circle opened up in front of her, the sound of a dragon's roar was heard as soon as the circle appeared.
A powerful suppression took place once again. Only the truly powerful monsters weren't affected. Of that list, Ye Qin, Wang Tao, the twins of Nine Peak's student council, as well as the principals of each university were those that were unaffected.
As for the rest, they could only suffer from the suppression of a superior being, on top of Ye Qin's Qiulong still on the stage above. Shortly, a small dragon, which was still relatively big compared to other monsters flew out from the magic circle.
It looked around, and noticed the Super Soldier staring directly at it. It could see two black and gold handguns aiming directly at it, before a soft 'whoosh!' sound was heard.
In an instant, dozens upon dozens of bullets were fired from the Super Soldier's guns all at once. The Enigmatic Photon Dragon turned into a dark shadow, dodging the torrent of bullets.
The Super Soldier moved from its spot and came in closer. Both monsters turned into dark shadows, moving at incredible speeds that were many times faster than fighter jets of the past.
One could say that this battle had turned into a battle of pure speed. Whichever side was faster, would pretty much determine the outcome of this battle.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Bang! Bang!
Two dark shadows could barely be seen, moving about at the speed of thunder within a large stadium. The two shadows were, of course, the Super Soldier and the Enigmatic Photon Dragon.
Both monsters were battling it out in an extreme battle of speed. It took everything everyone watching had, just to barely keep up. Only those such as Ye Qin and Wang Tao could see everything that was happening clearly.
The two brothers saw the Super Soldier firing away, while dodging black spheres, as well as incoming claws or a tail. The same was for the photon dragon, it was dodging bullets as well as any kicks that were coming for it.
This was all happening within a matter of milliseconds. Of course, this all took place on land, and had yet to take it up to the skies. If this happened, who would know whether the Super Soldier would be able to do so.
Whoosh! Bang!
As both sides were attacking and defending at the same time, stray bullets and spheres would of course fly out at times. The defensive barrier in place neutralized the attacks, while some dispersed by themselves in the air.
None of the strays of course, came anywhere near the students on both teams. The monsters had intentionally fought without affecting their masters in the battle. Even after a few minutes, nothing had changed. All one could see were two shadows moving about, while sonic booms exploded from the sheer force of their movements.
With neither side being able to do anything, both monsters stepped back and stayed on their respective sides. Yang Chen's Super Soldier's body became increasingly brighter, the golden liquid-like light, began to change from gold to purple.
It's helmet started transforming again, while some slots in its armor opened up and released some sort of gas. The twin handguns were placed into slots on its knees, before taking them out again.
This time, the guns were much longer and larger than before. They now looked like rifles rather than handguns. From its back, a section started to shift out backward, as glides that resembled the wings of a rocket appeared.
Underneath, were two holes with purple lights being emitted. On its chest, the suit started changing, as a large circular shape was formed in place. The runes on its body looked like veins flowing all over its body. Its fingertips also changed, they were now sharper like a beast's claws.
Its entire body had changed along with the change in the color of its energy. It seemed much more powerful than before. The Super Soldier's body started levitating as purple energy was ignited from the jetpack on its back.
It could now do aerial combat. While this all happened, the Enigmatic Photon Dragon simply waited for the opponent to transform. Its pride and confidence as one of the powerful dragon race wouldn't allow it to attack the opponent while they were releasing their true power.
Once the transformation was complete, the photon dragon flapped its wings and took flight. Once again, the two monsters turned into dark shadows and began their fight in the sky.
Only this time, their speed was uncomparable to before. If one were to compare, their previous speed was like a car driving at full speed, while currently it was like thunder striking a tree. The difference was extremely vast.
Now, even Ye Qin and Wang Tao were having a little bit of trouble observing the fight. With this kind of speed, they knew they were no match and could only win in terms of pure strength or energy and battle instinct.
Watching the battle, they could see the photon dragon utilizing its entire body, as well as large energy spheres. As for the Super Soldier, one of its rifles had transformed into a beam sword with the press of a button.
It came in for both short and long range battle now with a weapon suitable for both kinds of combat.
Bang! Bang!
The Enigmatic Photon Dragon finally got a clean hit on the Super Soldier, after a few minutes. Its one attack had struck, sending the opponent flying dozens of meters. The Super Soldier moved its hands closer, as the beam sword and rifle merged into a single weapon.
It's body came closer together and tightened, while the large circle on its chest protruded forward like a small mountain. A large amount of energy was being emitted from its chest that was transforming into a huge cannon.
The merged weapon merged along with its chest, forming an even bigger cannon. Not only was there a cannon, multiple missiles also appeared, along with rockets and machine guns.
The jetpack on its back shifted, as it changed directions and went backward instead of upward. The purple light being emitted grew larger and larger, becoming like a huge flame.
Within its entire body, the Super Soldier transformed and charged all of its energy, preparing to launch a single attack that would end it all. On the other side, the Enigmatic Photon Dragon flapped its wings.
Its body turned illusionary, while a large shadow with fearsome eyes appeared above it. The large shadow merged with the photon dragon, becoming illusionary, while a small ball of pure dense energy was being condensed from its mouth.
The small ball grew increasingly larger as more energy gathered. Small circular spheres were released from its entire body, merging together with the energy ball from its mouth.
It was like watching millions of cells merging together into a singular large cell. Both sides were gathering energy, preparing to end the battle with a single attack. The temperature was rising on Ye Qin's side, while the temperature dropped dramatically on the other side of the stage.
Both monster's were constantly gathering all their energy, and sending it forward for this final attack. The Qiulong in the air released small particles of its energy into the barrier, in order to strengthen the barrier.
Ye Qin was afraid that the barrier wouldn't protect the students from the attack if it were released. It also formed a barrier around both teams to protect both sides as well. Wang Tao called the Blackgold Python Tiger back out, as it started to do the same.
Golden-blue energy was released from its paws, forming a barrier of ice that was transparent, allowing them to see the battle, while still safe under the protection of the barrier.
Yang Chen's mouth moved and formed a slight smile, the Super Soldier was almost done gathering energy. On the other side, the large sphere of black energy was slowing done in its gathering of energy.
This clearly indicated that it was almost done as well. Soon, both sides would unleash a devastating attack that was enough to easily wipe out even a small continent.
