Chapter 4: It comes when you least expect it
It's a Saturday and it's the last day of the workshop I've been attending for the last two days, I am sitting uncomfortably in a packed van balancing by school bag on my laps and the still wet pig sculpture that I had made from waste paper at the workshop. I was still pleased by how smoothly my day went. It's the end of the work day and we're heading back to school to disperse to our respective transportation and as we enter the gates of our school I notice from the window that Sakuro was standing there alone. I suddenly forgot how to act, my heart began to dance and my day seems to still be going well. I became inpatient to get out of the claustrophobic van and finally approach Sakuro.
As I get off of the van I head to his direction while still balancing the wet pig on my palm, I approach him and realize I had kept my watch in my backpack earlier that day so it wouldn't get dirty and decide to ask him for the time since that is the only thing I could think of in the moment.
"it"s 1:20" he replied.
"ah, thanks...so you're graduating soon aren't you? must be stressful"
And that's how the conversation started. We kept talking and the conversations went so smooth but that had to come to an end when the buses began to move.
Although that day was incredibly hot in the bus, nothing seemed to bother me, I was too happy to frown on the tiniest things. I loved every minute of the happiness I felt.
From that day onwards, we finally became friends
We would briefly greet each other at the hallway and at times time, but soon after, we went back to how it used to be before talking.
Although it was of course now easier to start up a conversation with him without feeling too awkward, but he always seems so busy it makes me intimidated.
From the times we talked, my feelings for him increased every time I would look at him, when I knew him better, my heart found it easier to fall for him harder...but why would he ever like me back...It's only one - sided love and nothing more.
