Chapter 1: Chapter 1 - My Fantasy Reality

My name is Brandon Swift and I want you to listen to my story.

Now I was only 13 years old and attending Rosedale Middle School in Rosedale, California when my life took a very interesting turn of events. How much you may ask? Well let's just say a certain son of the sea god ain't got nothing on my mystical adventure.

So here I am daydreaming during my boring as hell Arithmetic Class when the teacher asked me, "Alright Mr. Swift can you please tell me what 2 + 3 x 5 equal?" I groaned slightly and told him, "The answer is 25 Mr. Mandarin. Now if you don't mind I'm going back to my dream."

Now you'd think he would get mad at me for daydreaming in his class right? Well he went totally nuts and I mean quite literally. He spat out a large nut from his mouth and I got hit square in the face. After rubbing my aching face I asked him, "What the hell was that all about? Why are you shooting nuts in my face?"

Mr. Mandarin smirked and answered, "Well then allow me to tell you Brandon Swift. It's because I'm not really your Arithmetic teacher Mr. Mandarin!" He then was engulfed in an aura of darkness and transformed into a small humanoid plant. Oddly enough I recognized the creature that was 3 feet tall and standing up on the teacher's desk.

Of all the creatures that my teacher really was it was a creature from my favorite video game series The Legend of Zelda! Now do you see what I mean? My whole entire life I thought everything Zelda was just a video game but no. Here I was face to face with a Deku Scrub.

I slapped myself to see if it was a dream but to no avail. Plus you'd think getting a hard as hell nut shot in your face was proof enough that I wasn't dreaming. Regardless even though it was just a Deku Scrub didn't change the fact that my other classmates had already bolted out of the room like bats (or Keese in this case) out of hell.

After getting to my feet I cracked my knuckles and told the Deku Scrub, "Tell me why you're here!" The Deku Scrub ruffled its leaves on its head and replied, "Heh! Wouldn't you like to know? All I can say is even if you kill me there will be others like me trying to kill you!"

This angered me to the point that I ran over to the Deku Scrub and punched it into the blackboard. There was a cloud of chalk dust and the Deku Scrub crumpled to the floor. After dusting off my school uniform I said, "I ain't gonna die! Not now, not ever! Now tell me why you're here you punk!"

The Deku Scrub chuckled and told me, "Oh okay I'll spill the beans to you. But you better open your ears cause I'm only going to say it once. You ready?" I nodded my head and the Deku Scrub said, "Long ago a gateway began connecting Earth to Hyrule. That gateway opens once every 300 years. You following me on this?"

Again I just nodded my head and the Deku Scrub said, "The inhabitants of Hyrule would procreate with the humans to ensure that their bloodline continues. That goes for the creatures too. That may sound revolting but it's the truth."

I folded my arms and thought about it for a moment. Then I had an epiphany that struck me something fierce. "Hold on! If that's true then Ganondorf had a child!" The Deku Scrub chuckled softly and replied, "Damn straight! I bet at this very moment his child is already looking for the new Triforce Bearers of Wisdom and Courage."

I got so mad I took a pencil from the desk and stabbed the Deku Scrub in the head with it. In an instant the Deku Scrub vaporized into a cloud of darkness. I sighed softly and said to myself, "Well that's just great. Earth is linked to Hyrule by a mysterious gateway. Ganondorf has a child to carry on his bloodline should he be killed. His child is looking for the Triforce Bearers of Wisdom and Courage. What exactly else can go awry?"

After school ended I wanted to learn more about this mysterious gateway linking Earth to Hyrule. So I headed over to my local library to see if they had a book on gateways. Oh course as fate would have it such a book did exist. Oh happy day for me! …Not!

You see I was way in the back of the library searching for the damn book for an hour. I then saw a thick green book titled, "The Book of Secrets" and I instantly grabbed it. I was skimming through the pages when I finally came upon a page about the Hylian Gateway. After reading the page this is what I learned.

Once every 300 years a gateway links Earth to Hyrule. During the span of the summer solstice this gateway stays open. Earth's gateway is located in the Notre Dame church of Notre Dame High School. Meanwhile Hyrule's gateway is located in the Temple of Time. And yes everyone from Hyrule, including the evil creatures, procreate with humans to ensure that their bloodline continues on.

"Damn it all to hell! I was totally right about Ganondorf! He sired a child just so he can continue his legacy. However if that's true then what about Link and Princess Zelda? No doubt they sired children too. But who knows who their children are." I muttered to myself.

That's when I felt a hand on my shoulder and I nearly jumped out of my skin. I yelped in shock and turning around I saw a cloaked woman. She shushed at me and whispered, "Do not be alarmed young one. I am not your enemy. Now follow me. I wish to speak to you in private."

After my heart stopped racing I nodded my head and followed the cloaked woman out of the library. She led me down a dark alley and I instantly remembered all the times my mother warned me about following strangers. But that's just the thing. Somehow I knew that this woman didn't have a sinister aura. In fact it felt heavenly. Just like a deity of the heavens.

When we were out of view from people the woman removed her hood and oh my lord. If Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love, was beautiful then you haven't seen true unbridled beauty yet! At least in my honest opinion. Sure she had green hair and green eyes to match but this woman was radiating with a golden aura. Her skin was milky white and soft like silk. I found out when she caressed my cheek.

"My name is Farore, the Goddess of Courage. My sisters and I can't stand by and watch Ganondorf's plan come to fruition." She told me with sadness in her eyes. I sighed softly and asked, "What exactly does he plan to do Farore? He already sired a child so what more could he possibly want to do?"

Farore breathed a sigh of grief and replied, "As an almighty goddess I should know but sad to say I don't. My omnipotence doesn't work so well here. I'm so sorry young one." Clenching my fists I told her, "Well since the evil creatures of Hyrule are attacking Earth then no doubt Ganondorf wants to conquer it. But first he needs to obtain the almighty Triforce."

Farore smiled at me and replied, "Now that I do know. That's his usual scheme and he never has given up on obtaining the Triforce. Now then if you don't mind me asking. Will you be the one to answer the call of destiny? If you do you'll be following in the footsteps of your father. You know who I'm talking about."

My jaw dropped and I couldn't believe it. My father was Link, the legendary Hero of Time. I mean sure it would explain where I got my blonde hair and blue eyes from. With a smirk I told her, "Consider both Earth and Hyrule saved Farore! Oh but first I need a sword and shield for protection."

Farore winked at me and said, "I'm way ahead of you young one." She closed her eyes and held my hands in hers. In a blinding flash of green light I was now wearing a green cap, green tunic, white long sleeve undershirt, white leggings and brown leather boots. Around my neck was a necklace with a sword emblem. On my right wrist was a silver watch.

I gazed at myself in amusement and said, "Oh wow thanks so much Farore! Now then just point me in the right direction and I'll get started." Farore smiled and nodded before she told me, "First seek out the one who was sired by Princess Zelda. Surely they will know more than I do. After all once a Triforce Bearer sires a child they'll inherit the Triforce piece of their parent."

I nodded my head and replied, "Alright I'll try my hardest to find them before Ganondorf's child does. Now then if you'll excuse me nature calls for me." I then sprinted off into the distance to find a bathroom. I had drank three bottles of Coca Cola and I had to go pee. However what I didn't know was that I was being followed by a mysterious hooded man.

CREATORS' THOUGHTS
Brandon_Hunter Brandon_Hunter

I'm a huge fan of The Legend of Zelda and Percy Jackson and the Olympians. So I had decided to go with an idea similar to Percy Jackson and the Olympians but with The Legend of Zelda. How each chapter plays out is for me to know and you, the readers, to learn. Hopefully you'll enjoy the first story known as The Triforce Bearers!
