Chapter 3: Black

Pitch black all around him. He was with his mother one moment and then now he was here. He didn't understand what was going on. All he knows is that it's all somehow connected to that woman.

He couldn't remember what it was or how he got there but he knew something wasn't right. These weren't dreams nor some kind of prophetic visions. These were his memories being tampered with by someone...

By that woman.

The only way to get down to whatever these confusing things were, is to get to her. Running towards her was useless. It always ends up with him getting drown or some other way of almost dying before being sent back to his own memories.

He tried to walk around in the darkness. There was nothing there, he couldn't even get a semblance of what was up or down.

"What is going on here?" He tried to look for something, anything.

The surroundings started to spin with color towards something behind him. The rush blew strong winds that forced his eyes shut.

When he opened his eyes, it was still the same darkness but light beamed from behind him. He took a step to turn around and the wind blew against him one more.

This time the wind that blew against him was stronger. When he opened his eyes, everything rushed for his eyes to see.

He was back on the moon... and she was back on her lotus.

Each step he took, trepidation welled up inside of him. He didn't know what would trigger anything. He had one chance...

One chance to find out what was going on, one chance before he goes back into a memory. He wasn't even sure if he would remember what he did now, if he would remember that he wasn't supposed to be here.

Feelings surged through him again. An intense wave of love and adoration for the woman. He was in love with her but he knew this wasn't real. The emotions weren't his, he was sure of it.

No matter how jumbled his memories were, he knew this woman didn't fit into any of it. She wasn't a part of his life, she was too perfect for that.

It was a sobering thought. The only way he knew something was wrong was because something like this was too good to be happening to him in real life. He had a messed up life.

At one point, everything had peaked and from there, the drop was too huge. He knew he couldn't recover from what happened. Somehow, in the fiasco he called life, this happened.

This, whatever it was, happened. There was no spontaneous happy endings to his life, especially not when he was at its lowest point.

This woman made him feel things that he hadn't felt in over a decade. He was sure that whoever she was or whatever she was, she was something that came into his life only recently.

Each step he took was calculated and slow. Nothing too sudden or else something could happen. He didn't want to make a wrong move. He didn't want to live this painful lie.

This time even though he knew he was on the moon. He didn't asphyxiate because he knew that most of this was probably not real. Or if it was, that woman was making it possible to breathe even when there was no oxygen.

.

The sand between his toes were cold and scratchy on his bare feet. He hadn't even noticed that they were bare. Or that he was wearing clothes he's never seen before. He noticed they seemed to be streamlined and slick, as if it was made for swimming.

The black cloth stuck to his frail body seamlessly. Even his groin was well hidden, the bulge of his genitalia not protruding obscenely. It looked like a one piece bodysuit and for a moment, he wanted to panic about how he would pee. But then he remembered, this probably wasn't real and bodily functions wouldn't be a worry...for now.

Looking to the distance, he was getting closer to the edge of the shore, closer to the answer. He wasn't even sure how he would address the situation.

Was he supposed to just casual ask why she was fucking with his head? Or was he supposed to demand an explanation? His thoughts rushed through, one after another, nothing really making any true sense.

Her back was so close to him now but he didn't know if he would reach her. There was no wind but her wavy locks floated around her almost meshing with the darkness of space.

What was he supposed to do now? She was right there. If he estimated it right, she wasn't even 5 meters away from him. If he yelled, she should hear him. But then again, this wasn't a normal situation. He wasn't exactly sure what kind of situation this was.

Screaming never helped before, but as he gazed at the inky lake reflecting the sky, fear struck through him. He dared not step foot into the water, he didn't want to drown again. The water lapped at his feet below, as if enticing him to come in. He would not be seduced.

Screaming wasn't a solution but it would at least help him vent his frustrations at the intangible things around him.

"WHO ARE YOU!?" She did not turn back. He tried again.

"PLEASE, HELP ME! I NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE." Nothing. He'll try again. He had the whole however long he was going to be here to get her to notice him.

"PLEASE! TELL ME YOUR NAME!? WHO ARE YOU!!!? WHY AM I HERE?" He could feel his throat closing up from being unused after so long, how long, he didn't know.

"WHY AM I HERE?" The world jolted around him, he looked around to look for the cause but there was nothing. He looked back to her, to try to scream again.

She was gone. He turned his head all around to look for her but she was gone. Arms suddenly wrapped around his torso. They were pale and almost seemed too thin, even on his frail body.

The woman was behind him now. He could hear her breath by his ear. He heard a sound, he still couldn't decipher what she was saying to him. Her arms held him still, her hold was firm enough to keep him from escaping her but soft enough that it didn't hurt him.

He tried to struggle against her with no luck. He turned his head and met her clear green eyes. Her mouth moved and before he realized it, he could understand what she was saying.

"Please, help me. Wake up!"
