Moky
A beautiful lady sitting as she crossed her legs could be seen in front of Mei Xiu. Her legs were mostly exposed since she was wearing shorts. They looked slender and fragile. Of course, that conclusion only came from people who didn't truly know her. As to those who were 'unfortunately' familiar with her kicks, maybe they would cough out blood when they hear it.
She wore a slight smile that didn't reach her eyes showing that it was not a true smile from the bottom of the heart. Her eyes were clear yet shining or simply, adorable. But there was this mysterious feeling that made people attracted to them.
Mei Xiu was once again enchanted by the person in front of her. She couldn't help but feel ashamed as her appearance was lacking in comparison to the beautiful lady. She was always praised and worshipped by her countless fans and even granted the title, 'The Nation's Beauty.' But sitting here, she was questioning herself. 'Do I even deserve that title?'
Then, her mind was snapped out by a soothing voice that wasn't too slow nor fast.
"Miss Fang, you didn't come here just to daydream, right?" Jiang Yue asked with an intention of concern but her slightly teasing tone betrayed her. She had noticed Mei Xiu's stare before and couldn't help but laugh inwardly.
"Ah…yes, of course." Mei Xiu replied and was very embarrassed inside. The tip of her ears were turning pink that was almost imperceptible but Jiang Yue still caught that little detail.
"Hahahahaha…." Seeing that, she laughed out loud without any reservation with her hands pressing on her stomach.
She already felt comfortable with the other party since they were close friends in the previous life but of course, it was only one-sided. On the other side, Mei Xiu's view of the beautiful lady in front of her laughing once again distorted and was left speechless.
Actually, Jiang Yue was a ridiculously outgoing and fun as well as childish person. But since she met Jian Ming, she never showed this side of hers much. Since then, she was living yet not actually living. Day and night, she would always be on his beck and call. Though she suspected that he didn't truly love her, she was desperate. No, not just desperate but very much desperate. She cleared off that negative thinking with her wishful thinking.
She, who had always seen through everyone's minds, was in actual that poor-sighted and muddle-headed. It was really pitiful and pathetic.
"Keke…sorry about that. Please don't take it to mind." As she noticed she was the only one laughing in the room and the atmosphere wasn't right, she embarrassedly coughed and returned to her previous self.
(A/N* 'Keke' is the coughing sound. I don't know how I should put it as and there was a couple of novels that I had read that did that so yeah.)
Surprisingly, Mei Xiu didn't feel any anger or other sort of negative feeling. She even chuckled making Jiang Yue taken aback a bit. Her laugh was actually pleasant to hear and her eyes turned to crescents emphasizing her charms to a higher level.
"Hahaha…I was actually nervous at first but seeing you like this, it seems I don't have a reason to." Mei Xiu chuckled and admitted.
"I'm glad you don't feel offended or think that I'm a weird person. Anyways, just don't. I'm perfectly a normal person, okay?" Jiang Yue straightforwardly said.
"Of course." Mei Xiu replied while smiling lightly, opposite to the guilty thought in her mind. 'Sorry. I actually thought so before.'
"Since we'll be working together, let's just drop the formalities and be comfortable with each other. Well, I think you're actually similar to an old friend of mine. And I think that it's not bad to be friends even though we met in a not-so-good situation. What do you think?" Jiang Yue hesitated for a bit and bravely suggested.
"I can't reject now, can I? Sure. Maybe our encounter is fated." Mei Xiu gladly accepted. 'Who knew that she would initiate first.'
Even though she already accepted her friend request, she still couldn't completely trust her. If she just made a slight mistake, there's a high chance it might become fatal. After all, nobody knew what the future might held. That's how she had survived in this tainted world.
On the other side, Jiang Yue was stuck in her own mind as well after she heard the last sentence. 'Then is my rebirth fated as well?'
As to that moment, both of them didn't know that they were actually caught in their own worlds. Neither of them didn't realize anything out of place at all. The room completely sunk into silence. Even if a drop of water fell to the ground, it would probably be heard. It continued until a bark caught their attention and snapped them both out of their own minds.
The bark belonged to Jiang Yue's new dog, Moky. It was a dog Jiang Yue adopted not long ago. It was a pomsky breed. Pomsky is a cross between a pomeranian and a husky and they really have an adorable cute appearance. It's appearance was like its husky parent but just smaller in size. They have a nicely polished coat that is soft, smooth and silky-like. Some parts are black, white or greyish and their eyes are blueish. The pair of eyes was very attractive.
(A/N* Moky is a nickname an old friend of mine gave me lol. So yeah, I decided to just use it. Sadly, we're not close like we used to now. Initially, I was not fond of it but I quite like it now haha :0)
Once Mei Xiu's eyes landed on Moky, it glittered and shone. She immediately pounced on it and tried to caressed it's soft fur. Sadly, it dodged and hid behind Jiang Yue's body making Mei Xiu caught invisible air.
'Really a trouble-maker..' Jiang Yue sighed.
