"Alright but make sure that you take care of Obadiah, I dont want to deal with him ever again " Tony said
"Don't worry we know how to deal with situation like this." Coulson said
Next Day, Stark Headquarters
"You've all received the official statement of what occurred at Stark Industries last night. There have been unconfirmed reports that a robotic prototype malfunctioned and caused a lot of destruction " Rhodes said to the reporters
""Iron Man." That's kind of catchy. It's got a nice ring to it. I mean, it's not technically accurate. The suit's a gold-titanium alloy, but it's kind of evocative, the imagery, anyway." Tony said as he read the tabloids
"Here's your alibi." Agent Coulson said and handed few cards to Tony.
"Okay?" To y said and took the cards from Coulson
"You were on your yacht." Coulson explained
"Yeah." Tony excepted
"We have port papers that put you in Avalon all night, and sworn statements from 50 of your guests." Coulson stated
"See, I was thinking maybe we should say it was just Pepper and me alone on the island." Tony joked
"That's what happened." Coulson said in his not so serious tone.
"All right." Tony accepted
"Just read it, word for word." Coulson said
"There's nothing about Stane here." Tony said
"That's being handled. He's on vacation. Small aircraft have such a poor safety record." Agent Coulson said
"But what about the whole cover story that it's a bodyguard? He's my... I mean, is that... That's kind of flimsy, don't you think?" asled Tony
"This isn't my first rodeo, Mr. Stark. Just stick to the official statement, and soon, this will all be behind you. You've got 90 seconds." Agent Coulson stated
"What about Reaper? There is nothing about him either" asled Tony
"He wasn't caught on any cameras theur are some blurry images but we can just say that they are fake." Coulson explained
Tony was quite surprised hearing that as he didn't think that Reaper had the time to make sure to not get caught by the cameras like that.Though Tony does have the video of him fighting in high-definition but that's because of his armour having high grade camera's and Reaper not hiding from him.
"Agent Coulson? I just wanted to say thank you very much for all of your help." Pepper said
"That's what we do. You'll be hearing from us." Coulson stated
" From the Strategic Homeland..."
"Just call us S.H.I.E.L.D." Coulson said interrupting Pepper from saying their mouthful name.
"Right. Let's get this show on the road." Pepper said as she looked at Tony once again to check if everything was okay.
"You know, it's actually not that bad. Even I don't think I'm Iron Man." Tony said
"You're not Iron Man." Pepper said
"Am so." Tony stated
"You're not." Pepper denied
"All right, suit yourself. You know, if I were Iron Man, I'd have this girlfriend who knew my true identity. She'd be a wreck, 'cause she'd always be worrying that I was going to die, yet so proud of the man I'd become. She'd be wildly conflicted, which would only make her more crazy about me. Tell me you never think about that night." Tony said
"What night?" asked Pepper
"You know." Tony said
"Are you talking about the night that we danced and went up on the roof, and then you went downstairs to get me a drink, and you left me there, by myself? Is that the night you're talking about? Thought so. Will that be all, Mr. Stark?" asked Pepper though she knew that he was emotional that day but she still didn't like it and Tony hasn't apologized for it till now.
"Yes, that will be all, Miss Potts." Tony said knowing the moment was ruined after which he walked towards the front stage and Rhodes introduced him to the press.
"And now, Mr. Stark has prepared a statement. He will not be taking any questions."
"Thank you. Been a while since I was in front of you. I figure I'll stick to the cards this time. There's been speculation that I was involved in the events that occurred on the freeway..."
" I'm sorry, Mr. Stark, but do you honestly expect us to believe that that was a bodyguard in a suit that conveniently appeared, despite the fact that you..." Christine Everhart interrupted Tony from continuing his reading
" I know that it's confusing. It is one thing to question the official story, and another thing entirely to make wild accusations, or insinuate that I'm a superhero." Tony said
" I never said you were a superhero." Christine said with a smirk
"Didn't? Well, good, because that would be outlandish and fantastic. I'm just not the hero type. Clearly. With this laundry list of character defects, all the mistakes I've made, largely public." Tony said
"Just stick to the cards, man." Rhodes whispered from behind Tony
"Yeah, okay. Yeah. The truth is... " Tony threw the cards took a deep breath and said "I am Iron Man."
"Tch, Stop watching TV Skye and complete the reps" Ken said as he closed the TV.
"Bu-But Tony Stark is Iron Man" Skye whines
"I don't care if he Iron Man or Captain America. What I care about is the fcat that I specifically told you to not go out last night and not only you went out but uou went straight to where the fight was happening. Do you know how lucky you are that you didn't get a stray bullet last night." Ken said
"I know and that's why i wnated to thank the person eho saved me but there was no mention of him, I tried to find anything about him but I couldn't, the only rumour I found was that he was responsible for stopping the civil war in Tidat Kingdom" Skye stated
Ken's eyebrows were up when he heard that, its safe to say that he was impressed by how Skye was able to find thta baout him but there was know way he vould let her know anything else.
"Maybe uts because he doesn't wnat to be found. Do you think if he wanted Recognition he would be wearing a mask like thta or not having a press conference and telling about himself just like Stark. There are some people who doesn't like attention Skye maybe your saviour is one of those people." Ken stated
"But-"
"No buts just complete the reps otherwise you can forget baout your desert tonight" Ken threatened
"Noooooo " Skye whined but still went back to find her reps.
Many people had different reaction after hearing Stark's proclamation People like Niijima who had bought the Atrk shares was singing and dancing.
"La la la la la la.." Niijima sang and dmaced around the Shinpaku Alliance Headquarters.
While those who have grudge against Stark or hated him started to plan his demise. The Vanko family being at the forefront front of it.
"Jarvis!" Tony called out as he entered his mansion
"Welcome home, Sir" Jarvis said in a distorted voice before he cuts out
" "I am Iron Man." You think you're the only superhero in the world? Mr. Stark, you've become part of a bigger universe. You just don't know it yet." Nick Fury
"Who the hell are you?" Tony asks vigilantly
"Nick Fury, Director of S.H.I.E.L.D." Fury said as he walked into the light.
"Ah." Tony said Nonchalantly
"I'm here to talk to you about the Avengers Initiative." Fury stated
"Mam you really have a shitty security system "
The two who heard the voiced jumped in surprise, amd Fury even took out his gun pointing to his right from where the voice came.
"Who is there?" asked Tony cursing himself for not upgrading his security and promised himself that there will be a full upgrade done to it.
"Come out" ordered Fury
"Don't get your panties twisted it just me" Kenichi said as he walked out of shadows wearing a grey sleeve shrt and black pants.
"Kenichi?"
