Chapter 9: Reprimanded

The sun had now set and the red sky had Ruviena's eyes reflect the color upon her glassy orbs. Out of boredom, she had asked Yoran to bring her historical and Abominable Policies of their own kin.

Yoran knocked a few times on her chamber doors

"Come in"

"My lady, The master has returned from his—"

"Tea time with one of his lovers? What does he want? No... never mind. Tell him I suddenly don't feel well and bring my dish to my room"

Ruviena turned her head to acknowledge Yoran's effort who attempted to splay comforting words.

Ruviena felt void at the moment. The disturbing feeling in her heart hours ago where locked away now. Feeling nothing. It annoyed her the most that she would feel that way over a man she didn't know well anyway.

"If your master persists to want my presence, then tell him I am not hungry and send a word of invitation for dinner to this... Olivia to join him instead" Her cold voice made Yoran look worried for his Master's wife. She was the Lady Lord in the household and she knew the authority it held.

Yoran bowed to his silver Mistress and turned on his heel. Before he stepped out of the door he said

"The Master is... enigmatic. But he chose you to be his legal wife. Please let me know if my Lady wishes to reconsider presenting for dinner"

Ruviena didn't answer. She had already decided that she will live like a doll under the solid roof of the fortress, with her attention now solely for the people back in her homeland and pleaded desperately in her heart that Noir would be back soon. So she could send letters to her loved ones.

An hour after dinner time had passed. Ruviena didn't have any appetite to eat their blanc food anyway. Vampires never had the same taste buds on food as how humans do, They would simply feed on others. She had read that the Noble vampires and ranked higher can feed on another one of their kind's blood. The ones that where turned and the ordinary ones needed the human blood nutrition. 'I bet he's feeding on that same lady who called his name so sweetly anyway.'

She thought, yet there was no feeling. Gazing at the moon through her balcony is what she had been doing after putting down the books.

-SLAM-

"You dare not come down for dinner? Do you wish to starve?! Wife?" Xerion lost his patience for his sulking wife. Ruviena returned his furious gaze with emotionless pair of blue ice orbs. Her hair seemed like it absorbed the moonlight as it looked like it was glowing. Xerion flinched at his wife's lifeless greeting.

"I am not obliged to dine with you, I suggested to the butler if it was okay to eat the meal in my chambers. But he hasn't come, which I already expected you'd act like a spoiled child and decided to not let him bring me dinner anyway."

"I am the master of this estate, am I not?" His low voice emitting a slight growl

"Indeed you are, you have the authority to do whatever you want, but you are not the FULL authority of me. As your wife I have atleast enough power to have things done my way, yet you chose to hinder me for unknown reason.

General, I will fulfill your emperor's wish in acting as a loving wife infront of  his eyes and the eyes of your people and mine. Other than that, we have no business with each other. I only wish you will keep me alive until the cooperation your kin seek from us becomes sturdy till it needS not our marriage as a symbol. For the sake of the few people that have a place in my heart." She said and bowed her head infront of her entitled husband. She had also noticed on his collar bone that he had what it looked like mosquito bite. Well... she expected nothing less based on how informal him and 'Olivia' spoke to each other.

Nothing

She felt nothing. On the other hand... Xerion's eyes widened, who was the cold woman infront of him? It felt like the room had formed a blizzard. Then Xerion's threatening voice made a clear demand

"Alright, we can live the rest of your mortal life as strangers to each other. In exchange for..." Xerion raised his palm and a red mist formed on his hand till a shape of a bird cage was presented.

Ruviena's eyes shot open in horror

"Noir!"

"Mistress help me!"

"You son of a— LET MY FAMILIAR GO!"

Xerion crushed the illusion in a fist, and shoved both his hands in his pockets.

"If you cherish your loved ones, I forbid you to contact them until I say you can"

What else can you take away from me?!!

Ruviena clenched her fist, and gritted her teeth. Not saying a word until Xerion turned on his heels and slammed the door behind him.

Why is he so....!!

Ruviena stomped to her bedside and raised a pillow on her face. Muffling her shrieks.

The general was filled with rage and as soon as he entered his room, the sleeping naked woman on his bed was dragged out by her arm after shoving her dress to her bare physique

"Get out!"

"Xerion?!" She screamed as soon as she was tossed out the door. Olivia was confused, even though the General had just finished his meal with her she assumed he was satisfied with her 'performance' since after his marriage with that wretched human, he still sent a letter for her appearance. But the dirty blonde headed woman scrambled on her clothes and glared at the maid that came to assist the guest. She was kicked out harshly by the man she was inlove with. Why?

Books and furnitures tossed and shattered in the Master's chamber. After his misdeed with Olivia, a woman known for spreading her legs to whoever held power still left him thirsty. He wasn't even turned on by her, just that Ruviena's effect on him lasted till the woman named Olivia decided to throw herself at him. His throat was actually dry and burning but the blood of that useless woman wasn't enough to quench his thirst. Xerion knew he needed her blood and warmth but he used a proxy... afraid of himself from draining her lifeless. Because he never felt so out of control with her. Yet his attempt to keep Ruviena safe from his own greed had crushed her mentally and emotionally to the point that she would rather feel nothing for him anymore.

It appears that Ruviena had trust issues, and the little bit of trust she planned to mold for him where completely shattered. He slumped on his bed with it's sheets torn and held his palms to his lowered forehead releasing a heavy sigh

In his regrettable anger, he ended up making his wife into his prisoner instead. Not able to explain why he slept with another woman especially when her eyes became disinterested towards him.

"Anne..."
