Chapter 3: Infection
Ren and Rena wake up from their slumber abruptly when they heard the sounds of sirens coming from the outside of the orphanage. The two twins get up from their bed in fear that they were discovered breaking curfew. They both opened the door to peek through to see what was happening to only see soldiers in hazmat suits walking through the hall.
"Are they here for us Ren?" asked Rena
"I don't know but I think we need to get out of here," says Ren
Ren sprints towards the window climb down from the edge window and landed safely on to the ground.
"Wait but aren't we just going to get more trouble if we leave now?" asked Rena
"Don't worry, if they don't find us here they won't check here anymore, therefore, we'll be safe I think," replied Ren
"Come on Rena let's go to our super duper secret hiding and wait for this to all blow over," says Ren
Ren helped catch Rena after she jumped off the window and went a few blocks down from the orphanage to arrive at an abandoned bookstore with the door being blocked by a wooden panel saying contaminated area. The twin walked around to the back of the building to enter through a basement window. There in the room was two bean bags, bookshelves filled with many different types of books, a knitted blanket saying "I <3 family", and a circular table in the middle.
"Ren, what are going to do about food we didn't have breakfast?" asked Rena as her stomach growls
"Don't worry I got it covered just wait here," says Ren as he climbs out back the window
1 hour later
Rena sees Ren sliding back into the window with a bag in hand standing back up peeking through the window checking if he was followed.
"Ren where did you go?" asked Rena
"You know that place where that young woman bakes those weirdly baked sweets right, I may have borrowed stuff without asking got caught and ran for it," replied Ren
"Ren that stealing, sister Lena told us that stealing is bad and you'll get sick then die," says Rena hyperventilating
"Rena calm down we are just borrowing the food until we could pay for it in the future," says Ren nervously
"Ok, I knew you wouldn't just steal out of the blue like that so what you get?" asked Rena excitingly
"I don't really know it I got cupcakes these cupcakes that look like cheeseburgers," replied Ren
But the twins ate the baked goods enjoying, knitting stuff, and reading the books of the bookshelves waiting out in their hiding spot until the end of the day.
"Ren it's getting dark I think it's ok for us to head back now," says Rena
"I think it's ok too I guess?" replied Ren
They both climb out of the basement window and started cautiously walking back to the orphanage watching each corner they turned.
"Do you think Sister Lena is going to be mad at us?" asked Rena
"Probably the owner of the bakery probably told her about me," answered Ren
As they got closer to the orphanage they noticed something strange surrounding the orphanage. As they got closer they saw yellow tape saying caution. Noticing this made Ren and Rena sprint towards the orphanage starting to gain tears after each step. As they got to the entrance of the orphanage it showed a big sign saying "contaminated area" both the twins dropped to their knees and burst into tears.
"Ren what are we going to do Sister Lena, the orphanage it's all gone," cried Rena
"I don't understand it's barely been a day, how could this happen?" cried Ren loudly
As Ren and Rena cried in front of the orphanage two people in hazmat suit's come out of the orphanage holding body bags. One man holding one bag and the other holding two bags.
"Oh, shit" the man carrying the one bag grabs a walkie talkie from his belt say "We have two escapees from the orphanage,"
"Rena we have to run," shouts Ren
Ren gets off the ground grabbing Rena by her hand and started to run. The two men in the hazmat suit's drop the body bags they were carrying and started to pursue them. As Ren and Rena were passing a corner two more people in hazmat suits came out. They both got grabbed being lift off the ground struggling to be free.
"We got them," shouts the man in the hazmat suit holding
"Let us go," shout both Ren and Rena
"What do we have here," says the incoming hazmat suit man coming from the orphanage. Just by the presence, alone he looked more superior than all the other guys in hazmat suits
"Twins with white or is it grey hair," says one of the hazmat guy's
The superior hazmat suit guy stares at them observing them looking at every detail of them.
"We're not infected," shouts Rena
"I believe you," says Superior hazmat suit guy "Who was the one that called it in," he announced.
The guy who was carrying the one body out the orphanage raises his hand and was shot dead by the superior hazmat suit guy.
"Well there's nothing we could do about it now can we little girl and boy, your both infected whether you want to or not," says the superior hazmat suit guy
"That's not fair," shouts Ren
"Well, there's nothing that can be done we have walking around picking infected bodies and transporting them as soon as you touched our suit you have been infected," says the superior hazmat suit guy.
With no words, Ren and Rena started to cry loudly.
"Yes, yes let it all out," says the superior hazmat suit guy
"Sir, what do we do to them?" asked hazmat suit grunt
"Put them with the others," answered the superior hazmat suit guy
Has the hazmat suit grunt carries Ren and Rena to a truck with a cargo container attached in the back. Has they opened the cargo container Ren and Rena saw it the bodies of the nuns and children at orphanage cold and lifeless. Both Ren and Rena struggled to be free, screaming, shouting, kicking, and punching trying anything to avoid death. But it was hopeless they were both thrown into the container as the door closed they were both banging on the wall to be let out but nothing happened they both sat next to each other trying to avoid the bodies. The problem was this container was full of them with the walls covered in white blood and no signs of escape.
