Chapter 2: Chapter 2 Unexpected encounter.

I stared out of the window to the sky, it was dark and grey, covered with clouds since the morning, like it would rain at any instant, and it was cool and calm. "Kia, sweetie, you okay now? How are you feeling dear?" Ma asked as she entered with my lunch. "I am fine mum, I just need to get out of here, I need to get back to work, and it's been a month already." I answered.

"Honey, doctor wants to examine you for 3 more days then you can return to the home with us till you don't get married to Ryu. He sure will take good care of you." There she goes again about that marriage scheme. "Mommy, I am fine by myself. And I don't see myself getting married anytime soon. And I don't know who Ryu is." I replied clenching my head as that name echoed again and again into my head. "Kiara, how could you not remember him? He is your colleague, and he was there with you during that accident, thank god he was saved, don't you remember pushing him out of the car, that's what he told us, he is a nice guy, a remarkable boy for you Kia and anyhow you two were engaged already, you can't forget him." I gaped at her to hear all that. "I am engaged? Mom I want to see him, and all I remember is a guy was there with me I just see a blurred figure of who so ever it was. And I need time to figure things out mom. Can we talk about it later? My head hurts." I replied in shock, and embarrassment.

Hearing that name again and again feels like I am familiar to it since years. A blurred image of a man, with a good build, holding a gun in his hand flashes before my eyes as I closed my eyes. Mom left as she finished feeding me.

An hour later the corridors of the hospital went silent due to lunch hour. No one visits at this time of the day, but an unusual feeling surrounded my mind. Someone came inside, there footsteps were too silent and the breath was heavy and unfamiliar. I pushed the window open, and the air was cold and fearsome this new visitor was strange and unfamiliar, he approached me and I felt a cold and sharp metal behind my neck, knife! I slipped away before he could catch me and kicked his hand hard due to which his knife fell and I picked it up to attack him, but he jumped off the window using a hooked rope to climb down, he was fast enough, I threw the knife towards the rope, cutting it due to which he fell from 3rd floor and maybe fractured his arm.

I watched him getting up, hissing in pain and running off towards the hospital gate. I dropped his knife along. This event left me in a deep thought and another mystery. Escaping from the hospital could have been a way, but I don't want them to follow me as this might be risky. Also I need to look for my partner, what should I probably do? Well maybe I will wait till morning and then leave. That would be fine. I started reading Paul Carlo's latest, and drifted away into the deep sleep.

Next morning I woke up to a sharp pain in my lower neck, the crash event was replayed whole night on the black screen of my closed eyes, neither I was able to wake up, nor was able to erase what I was watching, as if trying to find clues out of that crash. I believe that the crash was faked, to look like an accident, for I was driving at the speed of 20km/h I could not have possibly crashed into the Skoda! Then again who could have probably been after my life? That mafia group? I need to find it out, I need to escape from here! I have to.

I got up and changed into a fresh pair of light blue pyjamas and went down 3 floors to the garden for a refreshing walk. I sat on a bench under the huge banyan tree. Silently I read my book feeling the cool October breeze blowing my locks off my face. A perfect sunlight setting up the right temperature and autumn leaves twirling along the breeze, a long time after I came out of the white coloured, cold hospital room. I heard my nurse Ray calling for me form a 10 yard distance waving an envelope in the air as she ran up to me. I waited patiently for her to reach me. She huffed and smiled brightly at me, "good news for you Kia! All your reports are normal as per latest tests! You are being discharged tomorrow!" she squealed and I just smiled and wrapped my arms round her hugged her close, "thank you for taking care of me Ray! You are a great friend indeed!" she hugged me back and took me back to my room.
