Chapter 17: The Toilet Man
As the bell rang, Guo Liang stumbled out of the classroom, relying on his painfully scrawny legs to carry him to the canteen.
Looking furtively around, he made sure no bullies were close to cause trouble for him. There were always jerks in school who liked to make fun of his malnourished body. Hunching his back to make himself seem smaller, Guo Liang continued.
" Little Shithead!" a loud obnoxious boy laughed, messing up Guo Liang's hair.
Cursing his bad luck silently, Guo Liang smiled weakly towards Pi Zhu. These were the bullies, the "no-life"s. They really had nothing else to do other than bully weird looking people, Guo Liang decided.
" Big brother, how can I help you today?" Guo Liang obediently asked.
Pi Zhu smiled proudly, " You listen to me, little boy. I am the great Pi Zhu! "
Hearing his name, Guo Liang almost burst into laughter. Was Pi Zhu's 'Pi' the same as the Chinese word for fart ( fang pi)? Was his 'zhu' the same as pig (Zhu means pig in Chinese)?
Remembering that he was being picked on, Guo Liang kept a straight face, trying his best to resist a cheeky grin.
Oblivious to Guo Liang's thoughts, Pi Zhu continued, "Throw yourself into the toilet bowl, but since this big brother is feeling very merciful... you only need to soak inside for 5 minutes!"
Hanging his head down to stop any laughter from escaping, Guo Liang made his way to the toilet. Suddenly, a soft body collided with his.
Qian Yih who had been too engrossed in her conversation was shocked as a scrawny body bumped into her. Looking down, her eyes softened.
Panicky, Guo Liang started apologising profusely. He immediately marked Qian Yih marked as those popular girls in school who had a equally popular and possessive boyfriend. Accidentally hurting her could mean a worse experience in school.
Qian Yih smiled, sympathetic to Guo Liang. She knew how much he suffered in school, he had told her when they were older. Perhaps that was the reason Guo Liang had cheated on her, to prove his manliness.
" It's ok, I was the one who wasn't looking, I'm sorry, " Qian Yih answered, her voice as light as a gentle breeze.
Guo Liang looked up, his eyes filled with gratefulness. Secretly, he added Qian Yih to the list of goddesses in his life. As he continued on his way to the toilet, he realised that he wasn't familiar with the school grounds and didn't know where the toilet was.
" Umm, do you know where the male toilet is? I'm new here, " he probed.
Qian Yih nodded her head, deciding to walk him to the toilet. Happy that this popular girl was so nice, Guo Liang felt hope that school wouldn't be so bad after all.
