Chapter 15: Class, Please Sit
" Class, settle down, we shall start!" Mr Ping said before setting down his pencil case and teaching resources.
With students scrambling to get back to their seat, School had officially started. Digging out her books, Qian Yih sneaked a peek at Long Wei. He too had been looking at her. As their eyes met, Qian Yih blushed, gently smiling.
Ying Shui smirked at her friend's love-sick behaviour, accidentally catching the eye of Cheng Ping. He blew her a kiss flirtatiously. Ying Shui rolled her eyes, deciding to focus instead on what Mr Ping was saying. Cheng Ping pouted, unhappy that she had turned away.
Watching Ying Shui attentively take down notes, Cheng Ping stuck out his tongue. This Ice Lady was no fun!
" Cheng Ping!" Mr Ping yelled, " I hope you are focusing on the lesson! "
Cheng Ping's nose twitched as he heard that.
Urgh.
Mr Ping was ruining his fun!
Reluctantly, Cheng Ping pulled out a dog-eared notebook and started flipping to an empty page to write. Seeing that familiar notebook, Long Wei snickered. That was the same notebook he used every lesson when the teacher told him to copy down notes. This boy really didn't want to study!
" Mr Cheng, I want to check your notebook after the lesson, many teachers have been complaining that you have been using that same book to pretend to take notes! As your form teacher, it is my duty..."
" Mr Ping, the Principal would like to see you for a while, " a petite teacher knocked on the door.
Ahh.
His eyebrows furrowed together, Mr Ping paused in confusion. Cheng Ping feigned relief as Mr Ping walked out of the classroom.
Ying Shui's serious eyes scanned Cheng Ping's face. Why wasn't he studying properly? Was he just wasting his parents' money?
Noticing a pretty girl taking interest in him, Cheng Ping turned towards Ying Shui, his playful eyes catching hers.
" Am I that handsome? Ice Lady Ying Shui, "
Flustered at his sudden question, she turned back to her notes, her heart palpitating. Cheng Ping shrugged, Ying Shui usually just ignored him anyway, it was expected.
" Ping... if you need notes, you can borrow mine, " a slightly nervous timid girl held out her notebook to Cheng Ping.
" Thanks, beautiful!"
Immediately, she blushed bright red. Ying Shui spitefully laughed at that girl's silliness. What kind of century was this? He literally just took her book and she was so happy. Imagine if he decides to date her, she would faint. This kind of girl is much more suited to being a fangirl, seriously! Ying Shui decided, a little unhappy that Cheng Ping hadn't asked to borrow her notebook.
" Only know how to leech off others! When you're older, how are you going to live?" Ying Shui commented.
Cheng Ping shrugged his shoulders, he was just going to wing it. Ying Shui looked at Cheng Ping's face, she definitely never heard someone say they're going to "wing it".
Unlike the majority of students in A class, Ying Shui came from a poor background. The only reason why she came to A class was that she had exemplary grades and conduct, allowing her to get a scholarship. She had worked hard for her place in the class and she wasn't going to waste it like Cheng Ping.
Well, Cheng Ping was different from her.
He actually came from a wealthy family. In fact, he owned half the skyline of A Country and even had a few properties in other countries. Yet, he wasn't ever stuck-up or arrogant. Although in class he was playful, at home, he was studying furiously. The only reason why he ignored teachers during class was that he was forced to attend A High School.
Ying Shui continued compiling notes diligently, occasionally sneaking peeks at Cheng Ping's shenanigans.
Rumour had it that Cheng Ping actually came from overseas and even had a girlfriend, but his mother made him leave his girlfriend and move to A country to attend A High School. Annoying his teachers was his way of getting back at his parents.
Ying Shui sighed, she wondered what Cheng Ping's foreign girlfriend looked like.
