Chapter 71: Control Room (Part 1)

Aarvin had called a young man by the name of Inder to be their guide and explain what all the various machines did. Inder asked them not to touch anything even by mistake as it would lead to a catastrophe on the Magical World.

The machines had been arranged away from the windows so that they would not be visible from the bridge of the spaceships. He also informed that the aliens came here in tiny ships which are normally scouts, crew transport or cargo ships. They do not come here in their mother ships as Mother ships are too big so they remain in space and only their tiny ships or modules come to land here to get fuel, supplies and exchange information.

A. The Machines near to them were:-

1. The machine that controlled the opening and closing of the aperture that you can see through the computer screen. This aperture can be seen as a tiny dot or a star-shaped opening.

2. Next to it was the one that controlled the night and the day skies. The artificial stars and the artificial moon in the night sky.

3. Adjacent to this machine is the one that controls the sun and the clouds in the day sky.

4. The next machine guided the spaceship through the aperture to the landing site for the spaceships by a system that is available with pilots of the airplane and the way they are guided by the tower at the airport.

5. The machine adjacent to it had a communication system that helps catch the frequency being used by the alien ships and communicate with them. No matter what the language is, it gets translated to the language of the Magical World.

B. On the opposite side were the machines which controlled the satellite:-

1. The machine that controlled gravity. Without gravity, we would all be floating.

2. These adjacent machines control the supply of oxygen and carbon dioxide required for breathing by men and animals as well as plants at night.

Enough Oxygen and Carbon dioxide was maintained to sustain all forms of life forms.

3. There was a machine that controlled the water on the satellite which was needed to drink and for the fish to swim in and survive in. Animals also needed to drink water.

4. The next machine was related to the system which had been evolved, whereby one needed to seek permission to use anything on this satellite. This has been managed by implanting chips in all the things seen here. Even plants and the stream possess them. This was done by their great ancestors to inculcate a sense of responsibility and care for the environment.

If the children asked the plants or trees or animals or even birds about their name etc, they would gain full knowledge about the species, genera kingdom, etc. The children were very happy about this information and would want to try it out when they got back to their dorms and the adjacent area where there were many trees and plants.

5. They had a mechanized system that controlled the soil and its content including the nitrogen-fixing bacteria and earthworms ants, etc. The soil, plants, animals fish, birds, etc, had originally come from Earth. Everything here is organic in such that they used organic fertilizers and have never used chemicals to grow food grains, vegetables, etc

6. The population was sustainable and it was ensured through monitoring by machines to ensure that they all develop at the required rate. They do not overdevelop or overpopulate. All this is monitored through a few machines here and the next dome.

Inder then said, "I think we need to proceed to the other dome to show you what happens there."

"Actually, this dome is meant mainly for the spaceship control, their landing, guidance, opening of aperture, day and night skies, etc." he further added, "The other machines that control the major works pertaining to the function of the Magical World will be shifted to the second dome soon. This dome is getting too crowded now and we want that this dome is used only for spaceship activities."

"There are actually, three domes. We can only show you two. This dome and the other one."

"The third one is secret and involves the security arrangement for the defense of this satellite in case it becomes necessary. We do not believe in War but in 'Ahimsa'. This means you are not to harm or kill. But that does not mean, if another attacks you, you will let the attacker kill you and not fight back."

To explain it further I will quote from your Wikipedia -

Ahimsa is one of the cardinal virtues and an important tenet of Jainism and Hinduism, and in Buddhism where it is the first of the five precepts. Ahimsa is a multidimensional concept, inspired by the premise that all living beings have the spark of the divine spiritual energy; therefore, to hurt another being is to hurt oneself. Ahimsa has also been related to the notion that any violence has karmic consequences. While ancient scholars of Hinduism pioneered and over time perfected the principles of Ahimsa, the concept reached an extraordinary status in the ethical philosophy of Jainism. Most popularly, Mahatma Gandhi strongly believed in the principle of ahimsa.

Ahimsa's precept of 'cause no injury' includes one's deeds, words, and thoughts. The classical literature of Hinduism such as Mahabharata and Ramayana, as well as modern scholars, debate principles of Ahimsa when one is faced with war and situations requiring self-defense. The historic literature from India and modern discussions have contributed to theories of Just War, and theories of appropriate self-defense.

As the children and Sherpa went with Inder to the nearby dome that was to be shown to them, the boys wanted to see the third one that was out of bounds for them. But they knew that they would not be allowed near it even if they managed to find out where it was.

So, it was better to see the second dome and learn something about what was to be learned there. Thereafter, they would return here to see the entry of the spaceship through the aperture and monitor it to the landing site.
