"Haha." I replied with a smile. And the next thing that happened is that all the butterflies in my stomach just went crazy. like, super super crazy. We just stood there and went back to where we were at the start.
Hannah was just going crazy. Cathryn felt nostalgic so she played "Titanic." And everything just exploded.
"I'll never let go, Jack!" Rose said. But I wish she didn't because that only made the whole room go wild. And Hannah was just sobbing in my right shoulder. And Nathan looked at me and then we locked eyes together and that made me smile. Then he broke the eye contact but still smiled as he typed something in his phone. And of course, my phone beeped.
I opened the messages app and read that it was Nathan's message.
"Sucks to be you over there." He said while Hannah was still crying with all her lungs.
"Yeah... I don't know why, but I think I've never cried because of a movie." I replied then smiled.
The credits started to roll and that's when the girls started to calm down. I went to the kitchen to turn the lights on and went back to see girls looking like their souls were getting sucked by a demon.
"Jack!!!" Cathryn shouted then they just burst to tears but not as wild as earlier. The entire room was a mess, and it's on the carpets too. Cathryn then hugged Nathan and I just stood there, cheering him to go with the flow. Though I was thinking about what would it be like if I was there as Cathryn, leaning on Nathan's broad shoulder.
I went back to my spot beside a still wrecked Hannah and checked the message he sent me.
"Oh really? Same too. Maybe once but I may have forgot about it." He replied.
"Hahaha, she still crying?" I sent him while trying to comfort Hannah, patting on her head.
"Nope, haha." He replied.
Cathryn stood up in front us all and told them all to calm down. After they did, she went upstairs to get more snacks and then Blythe asked "So, what's next?" With a tone that resembles a relief after all that horrifying crying. Well, I thought it was just more time for me and Nathan to "talk".
"Yes, another one, haha." I sent to him with an overjoyed emoji. He then quickly responded with "Yeah, haha." With the same emoji. Then I could hear him laugh and I just adjusted myself in this comfy couch.
"High School Musical 3" The screen read before they played the movie. Guess they wanted to go back to the old times.
"Did you like that movie?" He sent me a text.
"Yep, I don't know why but it has a vibe to it that I can't explain." I replied.
Then the conversation just went on and on. Mostly about High School Musical 3 things. Hannah decided to sit on the floor and watch there. So I had my couch, all to myself.
"You're free." He sent and laughed again. Then I saw Cathryn peek at his phone then she immediately asked Nathan "Who are you texting? Why does it say "You're free."?" She nagged to Nathan.
I felt worried there for a sec because I felt like I was just disturbing their time together.
"Oh, it's just my Aunt. She wanted to check on me. So I said you're free because they wouldn't have to worry about me." Nathan said in a nervous tone. Cathryn analyzed his face for a bit. "Okay!" She said then hugged his right arm.
I sighed in relief. Then another notification was sent through my phone. I checked who it was and it was Dad.
"What time will you get back? Please don't stay till midnight, you have your last exams tomorrow." It read. I checked to see what time it was on my phone screen, "10:30" It read. "Probably around 11, I'll be going and then I can buy those things you said. Don't worry Dad." I replied with a smile emoji.
"So, what happened?" Nathan sent.
"Dad, he was just checking what time I'll go." I replied.
"And what time is that?" He added.
"Around 11." I replied.
"Oh, okay. I should probably go home too." He said.
Then I took a quick glance of my surroundings and it was Nathan, staring at his phone with a smile. Cathryn, who was leaning on Nathan's shoulder to my left. Blythe and Luna staring at the TV on the second couch to my right and Hannah and Maria both on the floor, mouths full of chips. And I was laying down the couch in the middle of all the ruckus.
"Called Aunt to pick me up. She'll be here later, let's "talk'" for a bit." He sent with a blushing smile emoji. "Okay." I replied with the same.
"At last, peace. Haha." He said.
"Yeah, they calmed their asses down, finally." I replied with overjoyed emojis.
"HAHA" He replied with more emojis.
"It's so weird though." I said, changing the mood of the whole conversation.
"What do you mean?" He replied with a confused emoji.
"We're so close but we're still texting. Haha." I sent.
"Sorry. It's just that... uh.. you know." He replied.
I knew that feeling he was trying to say. I mean I'm fine with it too but it's definitely something I have to get used to.
"It's fine." I sent with an overjoyed emoji.
Then the time struck 11 and I had to leave.
"Gotta go." I sent.
"Okay, text you later. Haha." He replied and I went off after telling them I had to.
Decided to publish another one today because I was in the mood to. Please don't forget to comment on what you think about my novel. Much Love!
