Chapter 2: the interview
I grab my Dior glasses, and do a full body check and as usual everything is in perfect order. I grab my purse and my car keys and make it down the steps of my lovely home.
As I make my way to a new destiny I can help but be transported to past that I made myself forget
I was 7 years old, I ws clutching The persons coat begging them not to leave
"do…. on't "my lips shattering in the cold of the rain and snow I could feel even my little pink soaks
wet and sloshing in my ruined shoos.
The person 'feature concealed to me by the low night I only recall his gaze so cold even colder than today whether it bore despair to my sol. I knew what was coming was so much worse he clutches my little hand and says
"eun young, listen to me I have to hide, bad people are after me after you "his voice void of any emotion
"I beg …you, noo"
I clutch his hand even more, holding on to him with all my might. But soon he lets go and departs in the night I was left in an ally that was dark and wet. the ally empty of all human presence the smell of alcohol coming off the tiled street and then black I can recall anything from that day back.
Who is that man, who is eun you and why do I still get these terrors?
I was shocked back to reality when a car was honking
"hey lady stop looking at the mirror, and drive already"
I was shaking and cold sweat dripping of my forehead, I take a deep gulp of air and make my way to my interview. I stop by the hospital and just take in its glamourous appearance. the hospital surrounded with miles of green scenery fountains small bridges and religious symbols truly a haven for the rich. as I make my way inside the well-designed hallway with as ivory the smell of disinfectant was strong.
I was greeted by the door and pointed to Dr.joo Ung's office. I knock softly at the door and was greeted by a manly voice "come in "
I softy open the door and step in I give a small bow of respect and was confronted with a very handsome man in his late 30 he had a nice smile on his face, his hair well combed and parted at the side. his attire was clean and well matched his tall status a simple blue trouser and a white dress shirt that showed his physic quiet well.
"ah, Dr. Kim so, I was expecting you "he gestures for me to take a seat
"I'm terribly sorry if I'm late "
"oh, not at all Dr Kim so, you are actually early, I really appreciate punctuality in all of my employees"
He puts me at ease
"so, Dr Kim so, I do understand that you are interested in pursuing a job position here "
"yes of course, I was very intrigued with the clinical trials that you have been doing , and I would love to be a part of that "
"ah, yes the artificial valve displacement surgeries, they are one of our main priorities here at the hospital "he clarifies
"so, I took a look at your resume and you have a brilliant background, all of the people you worked
with have all nice things to say. I'm really confidant in taking you on as an addition to our team" he
says with a face splitting smile
I was extremely relieved to hear that, "I'm honored to be part of the medical team here, and I can assure you will never regret this decision "
He rises up all 6.1 feet of him and ushers me to the door "this is the official welcome, get your things ready to start next month. I'll be sending you along with our lawyer her with the appropriate papers"
I shake his hand and gather my things to leave but I'm stopped by him
"oh, Dr Kimm so, we have an event here next week if you care to join, it's a fund raiser for children who can't afford our surgeries"
"oh, that is a very noble cause, yes absolutely I would love to attend" I smile and make my way to my
car once again
As I close the door, I yell so loud and start spasm dancing "oh yeah … oh yea" I was making weird robot dances when I raised my had to see a group of people that were very well dressed just ogling me.
I wished if the earth would just split up already and swallow me. it was obvious that the men were trying to hid their smiles behind their hand, I bow my head and make a speedy exited out the parking lot.
