Chapter 16: Impossible became possible
Last day of exam, Elsa, Gina and Adina made plans to hang out for the first time. They planned on going to an icecream parlour.
Elsa was telling Ray the plans she made to celebrate early morning during their call.
Ray said," Finally... You get to hang out with all of them?"
Elsa laughed and said," Yesss... Mission accomplished. "
They only had exams at noon, so both of them had enough time to study. Ray didn't feel like studying so she just taught him some important topics which she thinks might be there for exam.
They hangup for sometime and when Elsa finds a topic, she calls him and makes him study with her.
Even though they had their exams only at noon, Ray went early to college. Elsa came to know about this only when she called him later.
"Why did you have to go so early?"
" I was bored at home. When do you plan on coming?"
Elsa was walking around her room, and when she heard him ask her, there was a little pleading in his voice.
Immediately she said," Now... Within ten minutes I will leave. "
Ray said ," Okay... See you then." and hung up.
She immediately called Adina and told her she was going to college within ten minutes. Adina also said she will accompany her.
They reached college in half an hour after Ray called. Aaron also reached college within fifteen minutes, when he heard that everyone was arriving early.
They went to the library to find him. She could feel a gaze on her and she turned to that direction, to find Ray smiling at her.
She went over and said," Hey... Waited for a long time?"
Ray shook his head while Elsa sat next to him. She soon started taking out some papers and gave it to him.
Ray looked at the papers confusingly," What are these?"
" These papers covers some important topics and i have written it down for you to understand . Go through these now..."
Ray sighed and got up from his seat, he took the papers and started walking around the library. Elsa smiled and went through her lessons.
Ray soon came behind her and grabbed her chair. She looked up to find him smiling at her, his eyes twinkiling with delight.. It also felt like he was trying to hide these emotions.
She shook her head and told him to focus. Ray left her while shaking his head .
Elsa was distracted at his expressions. This was not the first time she had seen him like this. Infact, each time she saw this, she would scold herself for being delusional.
....
There was a time during break , when she was sitting with her classmates and discussing about something related to project.
She was feeling hot as her hair was down.. so she was combing her into a high pony when she felt a gaze on her. Looking up, she saw Ray looking at her tying her hair.
'Boys find it beautiful, when girls tie their hair in front of them.'
This phrase went through her mind suddenly and she blushed. Knocking out of her thoughts, she said,' Don't think... It was just a coincidence'.
She could still feel his eyes on her so, she walked over to him and asked," What's wrong? Why are you staring?"
Ray and Ace was sitting at the last bench and Ray retorted, " Why can't i stare?"
Ace started laughing at this and said," There's no rule which says he can't stare .. "
Elsa looked at Ray irritatedly and saw him smirking at her. So she stomped his feet with a loud ," Hmph!!" and walked away from them.
'See.. just a coincidence.. and You stupid Heart!!!! Don't jump when you find him staring at you.. '
....
Another time was when they came late for their exams... Ray was starting to go back to his seat when he saw Elsa coming in.
He smiled and stood where he was, when Elsa saw Ray, she immediately went towards him and asked nervously ," Did you study afterwards?"
Ray shook his head and said," No... I didn't feel like it."
Elsa sighed and was about to tell him something when he suddenly asked her a doubt. She looked at the question and started explaining it to him.
After a few minutes, Elsa felt weird that there was no response from him and looked up to see what's wrong.
She found him staring at her.. Their eyes met and his eyes were giving her a strange feeling. It was like he was devouring her. She blushed and asked him," What?"
Immediately Ray got out from his daze and said, "Something on your forehead"
" Ohh ... Let it be... It doesn't matter .. Lets study.." Elsa said with a little bit of disappointment.
She was disappointed that he only stared at her because of something on her forehead.
While she was in her thoughts, Ray was smiling at her disappointed face.
....
When Ray smiled at her in the library, these two events came into her mind. She was not an idiot to not understand the signs.
It was just she couldn't believe that he will be like this. She thought it was impossible for him.
Her mind was in chaos .. Her mind chided her, "Stupid.. How would he be interested in you?... You are just delusional"
But her heart asked silently,
" What If he does?....
What if he's interested in you?...
What if the impossible became possible? "
