It's massive body raised to the surface 8 large tentacles flared around attempting to hit the ship it was a kraken! We hoisted the sails and geared into evasive manoeuvres to avoid getting hit it's tentacles flailed around like a beast and sparred in attempt to slice the ship we fired many cannon shots in response but the creature would not yield. We could not go forever unlike this beasty we would run out of energy if we did not kill this soon which would cause the crew to route the battle and end in our death and loss. Thinking on a limit I grabbed multiple barrels of gunpowder and roped them together before dangling them near the krakens tentacle. The barrels exploded obliterating the entirety of one tentacle quite effectively. However 7 still remained and there were no more barrels of gunpowder. We were on quite literally the brink of death however in a surprising feat a crew member managed to sacrifice himself and take out another tentacle. We then were able to move the ship and ram directly into the beasts head. However in proceeding with this tactical attack the kraken was able to wrap 2 of its 6 remaining tentacles around the boat stopping us quite dead in the water. We had no more moves it was a complete checkmate as the kraken started to apply its magnificent strength into squeezing the ship. Suddenly in the most ambitious act of all a crewman raised the HMS Hood from the bottom of the sea using the winches we got to bring it back! The ship was heavily damaged but had enough firepower to eradicate that beast in only a few shots. The crew switched ships to HMS Hood and patched anywhere water may seep in and start sinking the ship once more. We then fired a broadside from the Hood which tore of 3 tentacles all at once only 3 remained the next volley would finish the beast. However the first volley had jammed the guns due to them Rusting underwater and the heat breaking metal in the guns. We sent repair crews down and I fought the beasts remaining 3 tentacles with my trusty bayonet equip martini Henry rifle I slashed one of the tentacles and fired 3 shots keeping it back away from this barely held together ship. The repair crew managed to repair the cannons and they fired another broadside yet again but right of the bowel which nearly shattered the ship and finish the creature. It's bullet ridden tentacle remains sunk down deep to the bottom of the ocean. We then fixed the Hood enough to get it back to a dock for a refit. We were lucky this time but that may not always be the case.
